  • Tried buying Horizon Zero Dawn from Target Ebay 10 mins before the cutoff…. When I went to checkout I got the same error message everyone else got, but my Paypal was charged the discounted amount, and no confirmation email for the goods.. wtf do i do now?

    • I am in similar situation. My credit card was charged but no confirmation email from Paypal and eBay. I guess my order did not go through.

  • Last night I had a variety of errors come up, most other users mentioned already. I just opened a chat with eBay customer service and they issued me with a $20 voucher to use. Try your luck.

    • On chat they told me to go ahead with my purchase now and they will refund the $20 into paypal account within the next 10 - 15 business days. They said a lot of people were contacting them with the issue.

        • @Kelsok: that was what happened to me too. The lady from the live chat just said use the 10% off code hasn't expired yet as there's nothing she can do with the $20 off $50 code

          Unfortunately different reps will offer different solutions. Not just ebay but other companies as well. No one seems to be on the same page.

      • Same here. I sent them an email last night and they were able to check that I tried using the coupon multiple times but failed. They told me to just purchase the item at full price, and they will credit $20 into my PayPal account. Now waiting for Target to tell me that my Zelda BOTW is ready to be picked up :)))

        • Same for me (as gt-man). I had emailed just after code rejection. I purchased and have now had advice that $20 will be coming my way in 7-10 days. I also tried chat on Thursday morning whilst waiting for a reply to my original email and they said they could put the case to marketing team after I had paid, but advised not to take the chance. Email better in this case, or perhaps just luck.

        • I emailed Wednesday night but hadn't heard back so decided to take my chances via Live Chat today. First guy was pretty darned rude about it all so I ended the chat, second guy was amazing and is crediting the $20 to my PayPal account.

          Now am in the same boat waiting on Target - says 18th of March for mine, hoping for something much sooner haha.

  • Hi Guys, I am hoping that you can assist me.

    I bought $50 worth of items (from 4 different sellers) to utilise this sale. As I rushed, I realised only after paying that I bought the phone case for $30 when the same case was listed for $10 in other local listings (buyer's remorse right?).

    I contacted seller but he said sorry bad luck, it was your choice to buy it from me and you might have a made a wrong choice (he is right - its my fault). But now, I want to get it right - I want to return the item to the seller (will pay postage and can claim it using PayPal free return offer) and then buy the case from the other seller (Seller B) who is selling the same case for $10 (funny enough that the seller (Seller A) who sold me buys his cases from Seller A - I checked his feedback as buyer).

    Sorry I think I got bit carried away up there, my question is - If I get a refund from Seller A, do I have to pay $20 back to eBay as after returning the product the sale price would be $20 ($50 that I paid - $30 refund)?

      Sounds like a lot of work. Neverthe less, I think paypal refunds are prorata when coupon codes are involved, so you will be refunded 30/50 * 30, or $18

        It surely is, I think I will just suck it up but I am just pissed off at seller's response and the fact that he buying it from the another seller for $10 and then selling it for $30. Yes thats business, but it is just stupid to use the same account to buy and sell the same item.

      This has happened to me twice from two different sellers, one refunded me no probs as the item hadn't been shipped, the other said don't sign for the package and it will be returned to them and when they got it back they gave me a full refund.

    Let me be the first to negate this deal.
    I bought 4 items from 4 different sellers, one of the items a toner for ~12 dollars.
    This morning I get an email from the seller claiming that they no longer stock it, then they issued me with a refund which translated to 0 dollars. Nil!

    So effectively while I was under the impression of a $20 dollar discount, it translated into a mere $7.86 discount on ~$70 spend.

    The seller updated the price of the toner and bumped it up by $20!

        Will do - I have already sent a complaint to both the seller and eBay.

        The reason I neg'ed this deal is because it seems to be badly thought out. eBay ought to know that there will be sellers who would rather take a negative feedback than sell an item at a loss. And eBay shouldn't make the customer pay this price of oversight.

        I think for the seller to get the value of the product as eBay credit they have to go through a claim process.

        I read the terms and conditions and believe have grounds to turn this around. eBay says if the buyer refunds or requests a refund they cannot claim the discount value back. Well lo' and behold, "I" did NOT cancel the transaction nor request a refund - the seller did. Can't see how the wording could be interpreted differently.

          Your best bet is to contact ebay and most probably they will issue a $20 voucher as they did with me and other people here

          The seller insists I got a full refund and that they raised the price to deter other buyers (!).

          eBay first offered $20 voucher, I said yes. Then they sent another email saying they mistakenly offered $20 and should have been $4 based on what they think is an appropriate discount for the item! The rep went to say that I must spend at least $12 in the next month to use this $4 and cannot be combined with any other promotion.

          How much discount did you receive for that particular item? It should say in PayPal how much you paid and how much discount.

          Not sure how eBay works out how to distribute the $20 discount across the items, but if seller refunds, you only get the portion you paid for that item. The discount portion goes back to eBay.

        • @Ughhh: there was no explicit discount on any one time, it was just the $20 reduction across all items in the cart.

          Just checked paypal and found they did in fact refund about 8 dollars out of the 12. The 4 remaining dollars say next to it refunded to voucher.

          None of this makes sense. eBay is walking a fine line with the Australian Consumer Law.

          So you still received a $16 discount (spread across the other items)? Similar to Woolies online, when a voucher is applied and for some reason you require a refund, the voucher value is spread across all items, thus when you are refunded, you get a % of it back -(unless it has changed since)

          You didn't pay $12 for the toner, you paid $8 and ebay paid the $4.

      As a final update I received an apology and a $20 voucher.
      All is resolved.

          I've generated for eBay thousands of dollars if not tens between sold items and bought items since ~2001, what's $7.86 in the grand schemes of things :P

          ie. They've generated for you thousands of dollars if not tens (you must've sold a lot if the 10% in fees are in the thousands) between sold items (I wont say 'bought' because seller pays for fees, not buyers) since ~2001, what's $7.86 in the grand scheme of things :P
