Missing Leg Of China Eastern Flight

Hi guys I'm just wondering if it's possible to skip the Beijing leg of my Beijing-Shanghai-Melbourne flight with China Eastern Airlines on Friday ?. I called the Airline today after arriving in Shanghai and they've provided me with some really conflicting info. Firstly the lady I spoke with said skipping legs wasnt allowed and then 3 sentences later she weirdly said I could try just showing up at the Shanghai airport and hoping for the best. Anyway I'm hoping that I don't have to catch the train back to Beijing so if anyone has any advice regarding China Eastern and they're flight policies it would really help me out.

    Short answer no. I'm assuming all the flights are on the same ticket.

    Your flight commences in Beijing, if you fail to turn up for that flight, your whole ticket gets cancelled.

    I'd be thankful to miss any flight on China Eastern.

    Generally no.
    It is only possible to do it the reverse- ie. miss the last leg
