P Plate to Full Licence This Year (NSW)

Just wondering if anyone knows about this. Apparently in November they are getting rid of the DKT going from P2 to full licence. If you are a green p plater right now will you still have to do the test after november, as you never did one to go from p1 to p2? Or is it being removed even for people who right now have their green p's

Currently the DKT is for getting your L's. The HPT (Hazard Perception Test) is to go from Red P's to Green P's and the DQT (Driver Qualification Test) is to go from Green P's to Full Licence.

According to this article it seems like in November 2017, P2 drivers will need to have a safe driving record to get a full licence, and each time there is an offence on the P2 Licence, 6 months will be added.

I'd say that if you are on P2 now, and have a clean record, by the time you can go for Full licence, if after November, will progress to a full licence without needing to do the test. Just my opinion.

  • Thats what I thought too. Thanks mate
