Pretty much pointless for me and the many others effected by the Australian gummints blocking ID's from activating SIM cards hence meaning we have to go the shop.

Yet another example of the gummints causing much more grief than the terrists and drugs (the evil drugs!) they're protecting us from.

    • +4

Your grasp of the English language is outrageous.

    • +1

Government blocking ID from activating SIMs… Um… What is this even referring to!?

      • +1

I am assuming he couldn't complete ID verification online

  • +6

Nice. I just left Lebara yesterday to go back to Kogan ($1 sim), now I'll return to Lebara next month for $5. I haven't paid more than $10/month for over 12 months now and every month I've been on 5GB+. Love these deals.

EDIT: BTW Vodafone 4G is pretty good too. My wife switched to Aldi (Telstra 4G) and to my surprise the Vodafone here is almost twice the speed. I get good signal for all 3 networks so I'm stumped with that result but yeah…

    • I am hoping to follow the same 😀

    • how long did it take to port out to Kogan from Lebara given that both area voda?

      • +1

Again surprisingly, it took within 1 hour. Being Voda-Voda I was expecting it to take much longer.

Although the data for some reason took a further 24 hours to start working. But I could make calls etc within the hour.

    • I'm so pi55ed off that I missed kogan's $1 sim deal

      • +2
        • Can we buy more than 1? Maybe I should get another for when my $5 Lebara ends next month :)

        • @Click_It: I have bought 3 so far ..did use different email address to buy though

        • @ujwols:

Okay thanks for the heads up, I might try buying a few more. They're valid until 01/06 or something right? If that's right then in my case it's probably only worth buying 1 more since they'll be expired beyond that.

We're going camping soon so this 14GB will really come in handy.

        • @Click_It: That's right.. the voucher expires 31/06

        • +2

          @ujwols:

That's right.. the voucher expires 31/06

          June has 31 days now???

        • @Colin2905: Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEST on 30/06/2017. 😀

    • Do you and wife use same phones? Try to switch Sims and see if the speeds are still better on Vodafone. I am in similar situation and I found that my phone supported more bands than my wife and that seemed to be the difference.

    • As I know when you buy one(sim) then you got one number, you buy more you got more numbers.
I was wonder you use Kogan then Lebara and back to Kogan then lebara again as you said, so are you gonna repeat changing mobile number all the time?

  • What happens if you try to activate after 60 days?

    • +1

      The activation process will fail.

    • -1

      you loose your money

  • Just wondering, what do people do after the the 30 days expiry? Do you port to something else or continue recharging?

    • port out to whatever is best for that month

  • Just ordered, will go back to Kogan after the month for another $1 :)

Do people recommend waiting for it to expire till you switch?

    That's 3 months cheap though…

  • Wait so after a month, this goes all the way upto $29.90 a month?? I recall a lebara deal with 5gb for less…

  • bought one last week for 15 bucks fuuuuuuuuuuu

    • buy couple of more , to average out the cost :)

  • So i could use this for the first month and then recharge it with the Lebara $199 360 day prepaid plan??

  • Thanks OP, got one. Will try.

  • I'm on Lebara atm. They used to be excellent, but now I can't get 4G at all (iphone 6s in the CBD) and they were zero help when I complained. They run a very cheap operation - some of the pages on their website actually advise you to send text to short numbers that only work in the UK.
Their deals are ok but I'd never pay full price. Forcing me to activate the sim within 60 days (if true) is one step too far.

    • So all you're getting is 3G? Contemplating one of the 360 day deals but that's a fair deal breaker

      • error message "This mobile network has not been certified by the service provider for LTE on iPhone." then reverts back to 3G.

This would be a good deal to try it out before you commit.

        • Update: LTE works fine for me, also on 6S in the middle of Adelaide CBD, weird.

But now looking at the site I can't port my existing number after activating the sim, guess I'll have to order another/different sim

        • @Chickenleg: could be network settings in my phone, but neither Lebara or Apple were willing to investigate or help. That was part of my point, their service was useless - and all their best information online is specific to the UK only.

  • -2

do these need to be used by 2018?

    • Must be activated within 60 days of purchase.

  • Be very careful with the international minutes; the Kogan deal has more data

  • What is the expiration period for Lebara SIM telephone number? Is it 12 months?

      • Thanks for that mate

        • From their website.
  • Cheers mate

  • Ordered it yesterday afternoon on my way home (about 5.30pm WAST). Arrived today in Perth from NSW at 12pm. That's probably the fastest delivery I've ever experienced!

    • Hey there, I'm looking to get onto the Votafone network and I also live in Perth. How is the reception? Thanks :)

      • Depends where you live I suppose. My wife is in Voda and she has no complain. We are mostly in suburbs around CBD. She only experience signal issue when we travel down south in some spots while we drive.

        • Awesome, thanks so much!

  • Mine arrived yesterday very fast !

  • Has anybody used the $24.95 plan for making international calls up to 1000mins. Getting confused with their wording it says $24.95 with 1.5GB but again says when recharged online.

We are looking mainly due to required a lot of call credit to international nos and not sure how the FnF works? Is porting from TPG to Lebara any issues as we tried to call their customer service several times some Indian accent picked up and hung up on us quickly. If we can manage all top up through online we don't need to talk but if required who to talk???

  • Still waiting for the SIM ordered on 4/4 :(
The status shows 'processing' when i log in my account.
Is it normal to wait this long coz some members already got theirs.

    • Please ignore the above message.
Just arrived today after I bought another SIM :(

  • +1

I purchased this on 4-Apr and my status is still showing processing as of today. Anyone else in the same boat?

OP when can I expect the sim to be delivered? Is there a backlog?

  • Thinking of going a year plan on this deal, but does anyone know if you can purchase $10 1.5gb data block instead of paying that $0.07 per mb?

    • Hi Gomo, 7c/MB is only if you have run out of data and have not purchased a data pack AND if you have main balance for it to be charged from. Feel free to buy a data pack any month you need more than 5GB.

  • Anyone knows Lebara offers switching other ISP number(my one is TPG , my daughter is Telstra both are monthly payment without contract) ? For example if we both choose long term "360 Day SIM Pack - Unlimited Talk, Text & MMS + 5GB $199",can we still keep the number?

  • .. still advertised as available on Lebara mobile web site … however the fine print maybe missed by prospective purchases .. see .. http://www.lebaraonline.com.au/lebara-mobile.html

  • Has anyone received it in the mail yet?

    • Yep,

I got mine in the mail 2 days after ordering very quick!

Impressed with it especially for the price =)

Kogan has lauched this deal in place of $1. still a good choice if you want to shuffle between lebara and Kogan.

  • Only 5gb data? Meh. I thought it was unlimited data. I'm on Kogan $24 for 12GB/unlimited calls/text.

    • +1

      Only 12gb , I thought it was unlimited 😀

      • Better than this deal. Know any telco with unlimited data for under $24?

        • You paid $23 too much. I was on Kogan 14GB for $1 last month :)

        • @Click_It: $1/month for a year? Link to deal?

        • -1

          @Orpheus:

$1/month for a month. Deal expired.

I never said $24/month was bad, you were already on Kogan so you couldn't take advantage of saving $23 over 12 months. Big whoop. For me I'm bouncing between providers which admittedly is getting old now, but I haven't paid more than $10/month in 18 months, usually around $5/month for 5GB. Back on Lebara now, for $4.95, back to Kogan after that for $4.95 (14GB again) if that's still running in 30 days.

If I saw your plan I'd probably take it, getting tired to jumping around every 30 days.

        • -2

@Click_It: Not sure what you're on about. I was never on Kogan, I changed to Kogan. Also next time compare apples with oranges.

        • -2

          @Orpheus:

If you changed to Kogan you paid $24 for something I got for $1.

My apples were cheaper than yours.

        • @Click_It: I paid $288 for 12 months ($24/month). Are you saying you paid $12 for 12 months ($1/month)? I can't find any such deal online.

  • +1

Deal has been extended, I bought it tuesday (02/05) received today. Although I'm having a hell of a time with customer support. It's gone through as an empty. $0.00 sim card

They are telling me they are still processing the order and haven't sent it out yet, but I have it in my hand, the sim card is in my phone already.

Strangely I received 2, I originally tried to buy 2 and it rejected it saying limit of 1 per person. So I then chose 1. Today I received 2 anyway (for the price of 1). And it looks like they planned on sending at least 1 more out to me since their systems say nothing has shipped yet.

UPDATE: They want to confirm this sim has been sent out and then will adjust my account accordingly. I guess I just have to wait, a tad annoying but it's out of my hands now. Live chat was ended at their end without any ETA on this, so I guess I just wait now…

  • If I buy another one, Can I still activate it around 9th June? I'm using lebara sim right now and kogan next before I can use lebara again

  • How does the 30 days data cycle work if you buy the $199 360 Day SIM Pack?
For example if you activated on the 1st of May, then the 31 of May would be the new data activation, correct?
How would you keep track of your 30 day data cycle?

  • Mine is still "Processing" after 5 business days? How long did everyone wait until they got their SIM?

    • Hi, Thank you for your message. Please note that your order gets shipped either on the same day or the following day depending when you have placed your order. We have been sending orders via Registered Post which gets delivered maximum within 5 to 6 business days depending upon the location of delivery. Please feel free to contact our customer care team on 1300126122 / 126122 or email [email protected] to get the status of your order. We do receive tracking numbers for any orders placed and we can track it on the Australia Post website therefore kindly call us so we can check the status of your order. Thank you.

      • Thanks, I used the web chat and there's no events for my tracking code. I was asked to wait until Thursday for a new SIM if it doesn't turn up before then.

  • Received a $2 SIM pack with a $29.90 sticker stuck on top of the $2 SIM pack. On the last screen of the activation, my SIM details say "pre-loaded credit: $0.00". Dodgy.

    • same here…. should there be credit on it already? were we meant to receive a voucher? what do we do? call them?

      • I did a live chat and they insisted that there is a 1 month plan on it, and to just hit activate.
I have not tried yet because I already ported to a different provider before they got back to me.
