Got a UE Megaboom for $207 delivered, i'm glad now that I couldn't get to the checkout on Bing Lee's fiasco the other night.
Thanks Bing Lee for having a crappy website, saved me about $40.

  • does any store have UE Boom 2?
    preferably in phantom black ?

    thanks?

    Neg becoz bulls###

    • screw you for wasting my downvotes

  • +7

Total joke, nothing worth even considering.
Cheaper to buy off Amazon US and pay GST.

    • +14

Amazon about to come and show these pussies how to sell products

  • -1

Wheres the cheapest galaxy s7 or s8

  • ShoppingSquare has the S7 Edge for $599.16, bring it down to about $590 after CR. I believe it's the best price for a grey import of the S7 Edge.

    Come on down amazon!!!!

My Nexus 5X (LG) just died yesterday, it entered a infinite reboot loop (a known hardware issue for LG G4, Nexus 5X and 6P, there is a lawsuit targeting LG in California…).

I am in need for a new phone urgently, looking at iPhone 7 Plus 256GB, the deal sounds pretty good -> 256GB ends up $1255.20.

Is Ausluck trustworthy seller? In other words, are the iPhone genuine, brand new and not refurbished? Appreciate any feedback, thanks!

Will head to Office Works and see if they can price match (most likely no).

    • Just buy a Zuk Z2. Do a little homework. So much phone for your money.

      • +2

No for Android if it's not AOSP / stock. Now that Pixel has become so expensive, I cannot justify to buy. I would pay at most 700-800 for a flagship Android phone (maybe I'll buy a Mi 6 or Oneplus 3T as a backup some day).

The mobile just need to be reliable, running a stable and swift OS (APFS is now a big plus for me), has hardware-based encryption, fingerprint authentication, good battery and a good camera, the iPhone meets all.

I don't want to waste time fixing Google and its OEM manufactures' problem, rather save that time to play with kids or StarCraft lol

        • Maybe Huawei mate 9 or mate 9 pro :)

        • @LHSolutions: I'll consider Mi 6 but I don't see a possibility to get hold of one shortly…

I'll say no to Huawei… Mi and OnePlus I like ;-)

        • just get the iphone for hassle-free and option-free (1 choice only :P)

        • @terrywang: Any places still have any Nexus 6P's?

    • Hey, curious what version of Android were u running? I've had mine now for 1 year and for a time phone was rebooting by itself and blacking out. But has been fine for last 4 months.

      • Latest stock 7.1.2 (flushed manually), bootloader unlocked, rooted.

      • I'd recommend backup your important data and look for your next phone ASAP.

        https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2017/04/lg-bootloop-defe…

I know at least 5 cases of completely bricked (hardware) Nexus 5X or/and 6P.

        • ok thanks. yea i was hoping it would die already as i have my eye on a iphone 6s.

        • @shonofear: The phone retailer should provide another 12m limited warranty for the phone, if you purchase it locally. I am dealing with JB at the moment as my Nexus 5X is 13 months old…

    • I've placed an order for iPhone 7 Plus 256GB anyway, no one will price match this price -> $1255.

Will wait and see when it arrives.

  • iPhone 7 plus 128gb from AusLuck.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/APPLE-IPHONE-7-PLUS-128GB-JET-BLA…

    $1135.20 after discount.
    Any good?

    • Well good they haven't jacked the price ABOVE Apple RRP for once (though it's still up 6% from what it was before this sale). If you can get 20% off Apple's RRP on a current product I'd say you're doing pretty well though.

  • +3

ebay and all their dodgy sellers can blow me.

  • +3

I feel that ozb should take s stand and ban these sales

    • +1

I Agree, OzBargain should at least prevent this type of deal to be promoted to Main page, or restrict posting to Forum only.
OzB community can then help listing the actually genuine eBay deal per item, as usual.

    • +1

Even though there are bargains to be had?

      • +4

yes, its not only misleading its also illigal what they are doing,… where does the sale say "oh some bargains, find the good ones, we've made life hard for you"

thats why he said, " actually genuine eBay deal per item, as usual."

        • I understood what he said. But what he said was an alternative to what you said.

I get the disappointment, but I'd much rather pay a lower price today than yesterday's cheapest. The things I've been looking at have been 7-20% off pre-promotion prices, which is better than C5AUS's 5%.

And finding the best deals is where the fun is.

        • @Thrift:

i get what he said and what i said and what you also said,

yes some bargains slip though the net and we win, but then again i dont shop or do buisness with criminals just becasue i get a bit of a deal.

its the bad that spoil it for the good, so as long as it happens, ban it.

only way they will take notice, let them get away with it, and they will take more and more. its clear cut, its illegal, ffs.

        • @T1OOO: So have you reported the alleged illegal activity to the ACCC?

What we can do for consumers

          • investigate alleged breaches of the Act (where it meets our Compliance and enforcement policy priorities) and take enforcement or compliance action, where appropriate.
  • Will be interesting to see how quickly buymobileau delivers my order :) more like snail mail…

    • +2

      What did you buy?

They have some good prices…..and 91% on reviews, which is terrible for eBay.

      • I'm really tempted, they have the MDR-1000X for $549 ($440.00 after coupon), but yeah… the rating puts me off

      • +1

        I got the Huawei Mate 9 (MHA-AL00 Dual SIM 128GB 4G LTE)

So far their customer service reply is slow and order processing isn't any faster as I`m still waiting for it to be shipped out…

I guess it will be shipped out from overseas China or HK.
Even if it states on eBay " Item location: Gordon, NSW, Australia" :) lol

      • +1

I was pretty lucky and got a Google Pixel for $784 after the discount. But I noticed today, their listing still says the same number are in stock, and they've jacked up the price considerably since I purchased.

Done some digging on the PayPal transaction, and they've listed themselves as "Amaysim Operations Pty Ltd" with a direct link to Amaysim's facebook page in the PayPal transaction summary. However, according to their non-eBay website, they're "Rapid Commerce Pty Ltd". Dodgy af.

Doubt I'll ever see this phone. Shame cause I went and spent $70 on accessories yesterday. God damn.

        • Yeah, I've noticed the same about "Amaysim Operations Pty Ltd"…

I'm still waiting for them to process and mail out my order :)

I did contact them multiple times and their last reply was:

          "Hi,

We're still processing the order and we go by the estimated delivery date that we gave with Ebay, although we will try to have this dispatch as earlier as possible. Our estimate Includes 10 business days handling time after receipt of cleared payment.

          Sincerely,
          Mafe"

10 days to process and order is shameful and lame…

My my patience is slowly running out but I'll give them till end of next week

        • @OGnelz,

          How is your order going?

        • @LHSolutions:

No word yet. Got the same message as you, but from "Bea". Seems fake lol

        • @OGnelz: I can't stop myself contacting them on a daily basis :)
Hoping they get sick of me and process my order faster LOL…

          So far no luck

        • @LHSolutions: Got my tracking number finally :)
          Long wait lol

  • any good deals on tablets?

  • +13

Bring on Amazon already, sick of these mediocre deals from a bunch of dodgy sellers and eBay.

  • +4

Amazon god, I await your judgement day.

  • +3

Thanks got some decent deals here -

Grabbed a Synology DS-916+ NAS (the one with 8GB ram) for $740 - 40 dollar savings over umart and free delivery.

    Also grabbed a PCI-E to m.2 adapter ($50) and a Samsung 960 evo 512GB for $340 total. Savings of 35-40 over umart.

  • +1

What a joke, with the "deal" you get for AU $48.00:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Corsair-Air-Series-SP120-120mm-PW…

    Something that costs AU $39.00:
    https://www.pccasegear.com/products/23805?gclid=CjwKEAjw5_vH…

  • These sales are so bad they make me excited for amazon. I can't wait, I used to buy from amazon all the time when our dollar was stronger.

  • +7

Should be reported to the ACCC

    • +1

Yeah, if only someone would do it - there's a serious lack of initiative from people here.

Someone should find the government department that takes complaints regarding people's lack of complaint-making initiative and lodge a complaint that no-one here is reporting this to the ACCC.

      • +5

Bugger it, let The Checkout handle it

    • Should be reported to the ACCC

      Report who?

There are stacks of items that I've seen that have not had their price increased.

      • And there are stacks of items which have. The retailers are clearly being dishonest and are manipulating their pricing to bait consumers.

        • The retailers are clearly being dishonest and are manipulating their pricing.

It's not illegal to put up your prices though.

        • +2

@jv: When you're advertising a sale, it is illegal.

          http://www.news.com.au/technology/australian-online-retailer…

“It is simply unacceptable for businesses to raise prices before applying a discount in order to give consumers the misleading impression that they are obtaining a larger percentage discount than is actually the case,” ACCC acting chair Dr Michael Schaper said.

I'd argue that saying 'YOU CAN GET 20% OFF OUR PRODUCTS WHEN YOU USE THIS COUPON CODE', jacking the prices up immediately prior to the coupon's validity, falls into the same category of misleading consumers.

        • -3

          @mubd1234:

When you're advertising a sale, it is illegal.

which of the retailers you claim has just increased their prices has specifically said they are 20% off?

    • I think there's a shortage until the next model is announced. I've been looking too.

There really needs to be some punishment for abusers of these so called "sales", looking to get an ipad 128gb wifi 2017, RRP 599, buymobile has the same product listed for 739.99 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/iPad-9-7-2017-128GB-WiFi-/2224888…) * .8 = 592, whopping $7 off.
