      • I can see with Amex but no idea about other banks

  • Not sure why deal says expired, description has correct expiry date "Offer ends 20th September 2017"

Just signed up to this last night as well. Good value!

Because it's no longer free for the first year. I hope you saw this and happy with it, otherwise cancel.

And more…all for a competitive annual fee of $279.

      • maybe a new post needs to be had for those who are happy to pay the annual fee for the points (and the hassle) :-)

        • may be.. but it's not much of a deal with the annual fee imo. Especially since STG processes are stuck in the dark ages.

  • made my $3,000 spend, in case their page disappears: "60,000 bonus Qantas Points or Amplify Points will be credited to your points balance within 12 weeks after the spend criteria being met."

If I were you I'd call up and confirm. Going by STG track record you don't want to miss out because of some random exclusion you didn't know about. My understanding is that if it's not BPAY or a CC fee of some sort or any purchase that attracts a 'Cash advance' charge (all of which should be easy to identify on a statement) you're in the clear. But I'm paranoid.

  • i was told that you can use the code EB if your an existing customer with a trans account over the phone or in branch to get the first year waived and this promo 60k points but not via online can anyone confirm?

at the end of my first statement, i was charged the annual fee of $279, i subsequently called them and they have offered a refund of the fee within 3 business days. i suggest all to check your statements…

    • I hope they're just as 'diligent' in crediting the bonus points

    • got charged too and this is after I called and confirmed i wont be charged 2 weeks ago.
Now i gotta call these morons again. If youre calling them make sure you check youve met the 3k spend too

I'm looking forward to my call to CANCEL this PIA eventually.

        • 100%! soon as we get our QFF points

        • @havok44:

just found out that I got charged too! completely useless.

    • the annual fee was credited back 1 day after i made the phone call.

What a useless bunch!! Spend 30mins explaining this to a CS agent, who at the end said 'Sorry I can't find the promo' and need to escalate blah blah blah. Asked to speak with a supervisor… another 5mins …. and he said yes you're right I'll waive it. I'm definitely cancelling this POS and avoiding any interaction whatsoever with STG.

Same. Useless bunch. Will definitely not keep this card.

  • Has anyone received their 60k points yet? How long after clearing $3k? Do we know if the BPAY exclusion rule is enforced? I noticed one payment description under my transactions reading 'BPAY to xxx'. Annoying, since that was the biggest payment I've done through the card.

Haven't got the 60k points yet. This is my timeline:

      • applied on 3/5 (using the 'Chrome shut-down' hack to get the annual fee waiver - discussion above about this possibly affecting the 60k bonus)
      • received the pack in the mail on 15/5 (with terms confirming annual fee not charged for 12 months and nothing mentioned about bonus QFF points)
      • made $3,200 qualifying spend in one single transaction on 15/5 (this was a straight credit card charge, not via BPay). Have not made any other transaction on the card other than paying it off in full.
      • On 9/6 received 2,400 QFF points, being 0.75 QFF for $3,200 card spend

I have a weekly reminder in my calendar to check my QFF balance and another on 4/8 which is "12 weeks after the spend criteria being met" as per their T&Cs. Hoping the 60k points are credited soon.

considering they belong to the parent company westpac, my past experience with bonus cc points with westpac is they really wait till the last possible statement to credit points… i.e. usually 3rd statement or sometimes 4th statement (12 weeks).

can confirm myself too that i have only received the normal points with spends, no bonus points yet (3k met).

  • Just had to call them up as I had the $279 fee charged as well.

Refunded and didn't have to open up a everyday account, he just said he had received approval to refund it.

Still honoring the application fee refund if anyone was a bit slow calling them (like me), denied at first so took a little convincing. Operator mentioned someone else had it waived today as well.

Bring up the date applied and the screenshot if you get knocked back.
