visit a nursery (where you'll buy the actual tree) and ask them

    • Nurseries are trying to push mostly Eureka, Meyer and Lisbon but was thinking if there is more varieties like one mentioned by Masterpupil below (Sumo Mandarin)…

  • Yes, but how bout them apples?

  • I grow limes, lemons and mandarins - no problems in Melbourne. I have a huge crop of limes and mandarins on the way. Oranges are harder, especially if you want navels. I also have lemonades also (delicious fruit that taste like lemons but without the bitterness).

  • the most popular flavor

    ????

Depends on what you want the fruits for - Cooking/garden aesthetics? Lemons are versatile for drinks/remedies + cooking, they take a while to mature but it'll eventually grow more than you need.

    • Mostly to make Lemonade, Cheesecakes and stuff…

I have all three - and they all grow fine in Melbourne. If you have to choose one, then I would say lemon - since you usually need this in little quantity, but often in cooking. So it is handy to be able to pluck it as required from the tree.
