Mounting Xiaomi Power Strip (Quick DIY)

Just a quick DIY guide of a little mounting trick I used to mount my Xiaomi Power Strip.

  1. Apply a small amount of super glue to the four rubber feet of the power strip.
  2. Hold power strip against surface, ensuring glue doesn't leak off rubber feet onto plastic power strip.
  3. After ~1-2 minutes remove power strip, hopefully leaving behind the rubber feet.
  4. Leave rubber feet to dry. Reapply glue and reattach if required, use the power strip to ensure correct positioning.
  5. Reattach powerstrip to the rubber feet as required. You now have a mount for your Xiaomi Power Strip. :)

So far it's working extremely well. The rubber feet are embedded quite deep in the plastic, allowing for the power strip to sit comfortably when used in this manner. The rubber feet should be removable with something like nail polish remover if you ever have a need to detach them completely. Even so, worst case you end up with four random rubber standoffs permanently attached to your desk/etc.

tl;dr: Glue rubber feet to desk/wall/etc and use as mount. Pictures below.

Great effort mounting that power board. A++

  • Excellent information. Thanks heaps OP.

  • Good share, dyl.

I just use 3M command strips… They haven't come off yet. But yours looks more elegant.

    • Also a viable method, though I wanted something I could take off as required. Adhesive-backed Velcro was my next thought if this failed, though velcro is usually extremely hard to properly remove if it's ever required.
