Got it on one of my accounts, but yes it's targeted, thanks for sharing.

  • -1

Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only.

    • +2

Click link and it's now listed as accepted under my selling page.

      Try it.

      • Nop :(

      • +2

Thanks mg_k. I did not get any email about this but when I clicked the link, the offer magically appeared in my account (under "All Selling" category). Time to sell some of my OzBargain impulse buys (headphones, Chromecasts, SSD's etc)!!

      • +1

good news all, i contacted a mate at ebay and he gave me a credit :)
$250 of ebay credit, im not gunna complain now.

        • Can we contact your mate too?

  • Still has to pay listing fee.

    • +4

You get 40 free listings and can automatically relist each one 3 times per month for free.

      • +3

Listing isn't the problem its final fees if it sells ……

      • I hope 40 free listings can work together. Ebay said only one offer can be used at one time in last promotion:(

    • Which is what? 50 cents? As opposed to $100+ on final value fees? Who cares about free listings, seriously.

      • -1

        It's a $1.50-$3.50.

And if you're selling low profit items, once eBay gouge you on selling and shipping fees it can make a difference.

        • Does anyone even bother selling low cost items on eBay solely just for profit these days?

        • +6

          @Orpheus:

I do, I sell Mustad fishing hooks that I bought in bulk from an auction.

Put them in an envelope from a box that I got for nothing and one postage stamp.

Only make a few bucks profit each sale but it adds up, sold over $600 this year.

And I only live a few hundred metres from a PO, so my costs are low and I get to also walk my dog.

  • Got it, cheers!

  • Stop taunting me!!!

  • +1

Got it 2 out of 4 accounts. I've just listed an item and it's showing 0 out of 10 used. Am I doing something wrong?

    • +7

      Yes, you're using eBay

      • +2

        😂

    • You havent sold anything hence unused?

      • ^

      • I hope you're right! 🤞🤞

    • Did you click "Get Orffer"?

      • Yes.

    • My new auctions didn't work with the new "Promotional Offer" either, even though it's showing as active in my account summary. I emailed eBay support to ask them when the issue would be addressed and received a passive aggressive email in return requesting me to make changes the content of my auction (the content of which was just copy/pasted from 10x auctions that I've sold on there prior with no issue and 100% feedback rating). So, I deleted my auction and I will re-post the exact same auction in a couple of days once they've sorted out their own issues. There's clearly a problem and the support team is under the pump… Or Frank is just angry that he was left alone at the Service Desk while the rest of the team is out getting drunk with the manager for lunch on a Friday.

    • I think you have to be careful. If you have other offer, you list may use that one intead of this one.
I just listed one, it used 40 free list offer.

You have better to double check with Ebay customer service, they have online chat.

      • +1

My item was sold and the offer is now showing as used.

        • Thanks for information. I will list mine, but maybe too late:(

  • +1

Anyone that gets these, what's your secret?

I have promotions and special offers set in my account and I almost never get them.

All I get is ads and suggestions for listed items similar to what I've been browsing.

    • do you actually use your ebay account? If you rarely buy anything or sell anything (that is, little activity) ebay might not target you much.

      • +1

No I do, I sell and buy.

Not heaps, but at least a 3-4 of each per month.

And I actually thought it would be the other way around, that they would target idle accounts to encourage activity.

        • hmmm. Sorry to hear then. Ebay clearly isn't showing enough love for it's regular customers

  • Finally got one of these targeted promotions, perfect timing as well :)

  • I got it as well. I had another one of these a little over a month ago just as I had a heap of things to list, so it was great timing. I'll have to look around and see if I can scratch together a heap more now!

  • +3

Anyone else intentionally holding out on selling stuff until they get one of these?

    • Yep - I've got a heap of stuff I've been waiting to sell. I got this offer (Didn't get the last ~3 that were listed on OzB though) so I'll be listing things this weekend :-)

  • I assume the items have to be sold and paid for (from buyer) before the fee free/$1 cap period expires, despite listing made during active period?

    • No I'm sure it's valid as long as ithe item was listed during offer period. Does not need to be sold and paid for within that period.

      • Awesome, thanks

  • +2

eBay is so damned random these days.
Didn't get this but found $10 off $20 spend voucher - no related email.
Its as if their promotions department is nervous of Amazon and just trying random unstructured mail outs

    • +3

Their promotions department probably consists of 2 employees and a dart board :)

      • +2

No, you're confused, that's their claims department.

    • I think you have to be careful. If you have other offer, you list may use that one intead of this one.
I just listed one, it used 40 free list offer.

You have better to double check with Ebay customer service, they have online chat.

  • Pity, have a lot to stuff I need to get rid of. Oh well, I'll take my business elsewhere, thanks ebay.

    • All your base are belong to them

  • Clicked the link, saved the promo on my account and it got accepted.

Under ALL SELLING -> PROMOTIONAL OFFERS, it's there. I put 2 items for sale, but the counter is still saying i've used 0 out of 10.

How can I be sure it'll still be $1 final fee each?

    • EBay customer service should be able to help, I reckon it applies once the item has sold.

    • It's once the item is sold.

As long as it shows Active in your promo section it will be ok.

      • fair enough.

        Thanks for letting me know

  • Got a question.
Say if I activate the offer today and list an item for sale.
But the sales made after 03/06… Will I still have to pay only $1 final value fee ?

    • +1

Previously its been based on the listing date, you can list on the 3rd (the last day) and sell a week later and its OK.

However if you list on the 3rd, it doesn't sell and it auto relists, this doesn't work.

If you list today and it auto relists in a week (if before the 3rd) this will give you the $1 final value fees as well (as long as you haven't used your ten)

  • I click on the link provided and on the ebay page that opens reads - Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only. How do I get an invite? or has it expired?

    • +1

Sorry but it's a targeted offer; only certain users are invited.

      • +1

        not always.

I didnt get the email, just clicked the deal, and it accepted me.

  • +2

Btw, if you do sell your item, paypal takes a 2.9% transaction fee (owned by ebay lol)

  • Can the buyer pay with any payment type or does it have to be paid with PayPal…thanks

  • +1

Won't let me do it "You aren't eligible for this promotional offer because your seller standing is Below Standard."

I had to cancel two listings after they sold back in Dec 16 as they were damaged and I didn't realise and I didn't want to send a damaged item, communicated clearly with the buyers etc. I have 100% positive feedback, which has been like that for that last decade. Despite thisthey had placed my account as 'Below Standard' for months now and are holding all paypal transactions for 21 days.

So annoyed with ebay. Can't wait for amazon prime as hopefully it hurts ebay. So over them at the moment.

    • Maybe give eBay a call, I found them quite helpful over the phone

Alternatively, create a new account, buy 10+ cheap Chinese things for $1 to get your feedback score started, and off you go

Another account to reap the benefits of the targeted offers

  • I don't understand. I have this deal/offer on my page too. I have a $1200 mixing desk to sell, I guess on Ebay.. If I list it using this deal, and it sells, it will only cost me $1 all up, so I'll clear a figure of $1199 for the sale, is that right? Soz, bit of an Ebay dud..

    • +1

That's correct for the eBay part. You'll lose $34.80 (2.9%) to paypal fees so net is $1164.20.

      • Goodonya mate, thanks very much. I can cop a Paypal fee here & there. Just on that, is Paypal the only payment choice for the buyer?

        • Don't think so. You can opt to choose which payment methods to accept on the bottom of the listing page including bank transfer.

        • +1

If it's an item that you're only allowing pick up, do cash on pick up, not paypal. If they paid via op soak, refund and ask for cash on pick up.

        • @Ughhh: op soak?

  • Cheers OP got the offer :)

But I'm a bit confused as to how this one works. Is it list as many as you want but only the first 10 sales will be charged just a $1 in FV fees. Or is it only the first 10 items listed that counts for the promo. That's how I think the last promo worked. But the counter on this one tho only shows up once an item has sold so I'm leaning towards the former. Terms and conditions does not really explain it very well.

    • +1

Am currently talking to a customer service rep, will post response in description.

      E: Description has been updated.

      • Cheers mate :)

  • sweet, these are becoming my favourite eBay specials now :)

Encouraging me to make money instead of spending! Now thats a bargain

  • +3

I just spoke to eBay rep and they told me items just have to be listed during the promotion period, the final sale date can be after the date when the promotion ends (3-June). This is contrary to the OP's statement that "Items must sell before the expiry date or will otherwise be charged the normal final value fee." I wish they would make their T&C's easier to understand.

    • I copied that directly from an eBay customer service rep… God know's who to trust with eBay.

      • +1

The above (billy bob's info) was my experience last time.
The reps often spread incorrect information

        • +1

          Good to know, Thanks KTA.

  • +1

I also had a chat with the customer support team and have confirmed that the items only need to be listed within the promotional window to receive the $1 final value cap fee. If the item listing expires, or is re-listed outside the promotional period, the final value cap no longer applies

    Have screenshot to confirm

Better get listing, special invitees of this offer!

    • +1

      Thanks will update description

  • Can confirm that even though the offer is marked as expired in my eBay a/c the items listed during the promo period and sold afterwards do count towards the ten.
