Skip numbers 1 (EeeBook), and 2 (Satellite).

The third one (ThinkPad) is pretty great. The CPU and RAM are good, the SSD is low but can be upgraded. However, the screen is pretty bad… only 200 nits and barely 720p/very pixelated.

The forth one (Pavilion) is kinda good. The CPU and RAM and SSD are good, things can be upgraded. However, the screen is pretty bad… dim and barely 720p/very pixelated.

The fifth one (Zenbook) this time solves the issue of the screen (higher resolution, 320 nits, touchscreen). However this time it introduces new problems to the experience in terms of performance (Core M3, a bit slow) and the battery life. I think the M.3 Sata 3 SSD might be user upgradeable, but theres's no way around the (~5h) low battery life for this when competitors are (~7h) better.

The sixth on (Latitude) is very similar to the third one, except the screen/device size.

I wouldn't wholeheartedly recommend any of them, since these days you should expect a +1080p IPS, +256GB SSD, +8GB RAM (DDR4-2133), +45Wh battery, and 14nm 2.0GHz Core M/Y/U processors. And such a laptop is mainstream, and mainstream used to cost ~$1,000. However, these days mainstream is priced (~$1,400) almost in the luxury (~$1,800) bracket.

PS: The ThinkPad seems to have the least compromises, and in the seller's description it has some Adverts from the OEM… which says the same laptop comes in a FHD (1080p) screen variant. See if you can find one of those for $900, and look at upgrading the SSD and RAM yourself.

Nice! Doing op's homework. Now weight decision to thinnest and lightest with Win10 and Office version, never know if desktop publishing might tickle her fancy

    • thank you very much sir ! Apparently theres a 15% off site wide starting soon
      might jump on it (thinkpad)

  • Type more facts please. Not Lenovo.
