  • Is there anyway to stop the data at 1.5GB per month?
    Bought one for my daughter to use for 6 months at $9.90per month but now am very concerned that she will just go over the 1.5GB in a few days and I will end up with hundreds of dollars of debt for excess data…:(
    Also, where do you change it from direct debit each month to pay as you go as I would like to stop it after 6 months.

      Choose prepaid option and change your billing method to BPay so they can't auto-bill you.

      You'll have no credit in your account for Amaysim to charge over quota data to. :)

        Surely you can't just use as much as you want and then not pay?

  • Just a heads-up for whoever is waiting for 3hrs delivery in Melb CBD.

    Most likely you won't receive it today,coz the delivery company Amaysim uses in Melb CBD is no longer doing delivery for Amaysim. Amaysim's solution is to buy $2 sim from a shop and later they will credit back to your account.

  • My tracking email came through OK, but I referred my wife to Cash Rewards and got her to buy a SIM as well which doesn't seem to have worked.

    No tracking email for her and no $5 referral bonus to either her or my account. Going to give it a couple of days but strange that an email would come through for one account but not the other.

  • Why are people discussing removal of autorenewal? I would have thought that if you selected "PRE-PAID", there would be no autorenewal anyway until such time as you WANT to renew?

    Am I missing something here for those concerned they might keep getting charged?

    • Amaysim automatically charge your credit/debit card at the beginning of each month (hence the term, PRE-pay), they also offer POST-paid plans where they bill you at the end of month.
      I don't believe you can opt out of the auto renewal.

      • Oh, so they're not like Vodafone where you put in say $20 credit and if it gets used up your services stop until it gets topped up? Thats not what prepaid normally means!

      • It is every 28 days not monthly, therefore would be 13 monthly payments per year.
        I am going to either change payment method to PayPal or just cancel after 28 days x 6

    Why would they do this?

    I left Amaysim after they introduced the automatic extra data charges. Vaya does the same.

      tax time, instead of paying tax they will just ‘lose’ money like this to balance their book and probably pay nil or much much less tax due to ‘loss’ :)

    Rest of the yr ( or 7 x 24.90 ) = 174.30
    Cashback = - 32
    Total = 201.7 / yr
    ie 16.80/month..

    is that correct??

          I thought OP should have mentioned it. This deal is $9.90 for the first 6 recharges so you can use this deal for 6 months.

    I bought a new sim and having to choose at least five numbers is pretty nifty. I am seriously considering changing into the new number now. The only thing is after buying the sim, the Chrome Cashrewards notifier asked me to activate Cashrewards when it should have been activated already since I clicked from Cashrewards website. Hope the purchase was tracked. :/

    • Same, scored a brand new number. Just have to figure out how to port it from Amaysim to replace my phone number.

      • Yea. But it's a hassle updating everything and everyone with your new number when you've had your old number for years. :(

        Also, Cashrewards tracked my purchase even though the notifier alerted me. So, I did it again with my wife's Cashrewards Account. :D

    Post says - SIM must be activated by June 30 to avail of the $32 cashback- which indicates it is not pre-activated.

    • I said few times in this thread. You'll need to start activation once you receive your SIM if you are porting your number.

      • Question is not related to porting mate. I am just asking if new number sim is pre-activated?
        My guests are coming in july and I want sim for them to use and hence will be activating close to end of June.

    • Based on past experience, it is pre-activated for new number. They activate the SIM when they send it out so you actually lose a few days of usage.

        Just logged in to my account and the SIM is already activated - 27 days remaining. I probably lose 6 days of usage by the time the SIM arrive.

  • Thanks guys I have emailed them. Their response was to buy a $2 sim… not sure if by activating this one it will still allow me to get the cash back.

  • Argh, I was charged $9.90 twice somehow, paid by AMEX. It looks like I have 2 accounts too since I received 2 emails and they have 2 sequential invoices attached (#28XXXXX7 & #28XXXXX8), each with a different client ID. However, since you login in with mobile #/email, My amaysim only shows the latter invoice #28XXXXX8.

    Will have to live chat in the morning to sort it out. I'm concerned that cancelling 1 client ID/invoice will muck up the cashrewards tracking.

    And yes, this is a new account. Never been with amaysim before.

      • Live chat. Rep removed duplicate account that wasn't verified/id checked. $9.90 refund already on my card.

      Hi Maz78 & others. If for some reason your purchase hasn't tracked, don't be concerned. Please allow 7 days as there may be a backlog with our affiliate partner. If after this time you still haven't received a pending amount and/or a tracking email from us, simply open a ticket via the Contact Us page and we'll take care of it. Important thing is you have a click-out to Amaysim at time of purchase (you can check this in My Account/My Click History) and an Amaysim invoice. AdBlock especially (and some AntiVirus software) can further complicate things by deleting cookies when it shouldn't. If you can, please get in the habit of disabling prior to using Cashrewards.

      So only get the benefit of price reduced to $9.90 on a SIM already activated before receiving it :-(

      Other order on new account for family member requires ID before SIM can be activated. So no problem activating later & should receive Cashback.

      So need to order on NEW ACCOUNT!

      It's all in the (updated) conditions.

      As we both have $1 Kogan SIMs until July, we don't need the SIM now with the changed activation conditions

      • To clarify: I didn't log into existing account, but set up as new customer. Amaysim set it up on existing account not used in about 2 years.

        Just tried setting up new account with my name, DOB, but different email & contact number (for another family member with their own CashRewards account) - seems to not need ID & did set up new account.

        tried medicare and it was asking for day/month/yr… medicare card only have month and year - laso failed
