    Imported Freshwater Basa Fillets

Imported cesspool bottom feeding sewerage catfish, yum.

    • +3

Holy crap is that what they are?

Never buy imported fish anyway … unless they're endangered and someone has wrapped a can around it.

      • +2

        And with added dolphin

    • +1

      Username checks out

You can also get Spam in felt these days…

Now and again i feel like getting Spam, inspired mainly by Monty Python, but then i check what's actually in it and my world collapses…

    • +3

Probably no worse for you than other preserved meats.

      • +1

Spam has a massive % of fat in it - 27% according to this.
Some processed ham is just a few % fat.
Spam is hardcore crap and i refuse to eat it over other readily available crap while my body looks like a temple.

  • +4

Thank you for your hard work Savas! Never heard of Chocochino before but it sounds like something I need to try.

    • +2

Its just drinking chocolate as far as I'm aware. Curious to know if there is anything special about it.

    • +6

Chocochino is my favourite hot choc - drinking it now. I think I've tried most hot choc. Drunk it for many years. (I'm a Regular, not Dark guy. Mornings, I often add a tsp of Moccona coffee.)

Certainly worth a try & best time when half price ($6.55/kg).

Made by Vittoria, Italian style, 18% cocoa, but a bit sweet for me. (Like many hot choc - sugar is the first listed ingredient. Sometimes cut it with some cocoa to decrease sweetness.) 17 servings per pack. Lid has a shaker section so you can sprinkle on coffee, hot choc, etc.

Never thought I'd see it on OzBargain. Never seen it this cheap! I'm excited ;-)

      Marketing blurb:
Chocochino Italian style drinking chocolate is made from the finest chocolate delivering the rich, creamy taste savoured by chocolate lovers.
Chocochino makes delicious hot chocolate, mocha coffee and to sprinkle on top of a cappuccino.
Reviewed as one of the best tasting drinking chocolates on the market, Chocochino is also one of the fastest growing brands, as chocolate lovers discover the smooth, rich taste of a true Italian style chocolate

Just back from Japan where more bitter chocolate is preferred. Was drinking wonderful Morinaga Cacao70 (Cacaomass, sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa powder, emulsifier). If only I could easily purchase here.

    • +1

was anyone able to pick up the dark one? i could only see the regular at my local woolies

      • +1

Odd i bought dark last night, sorry mate

      • +1

Only the dark at local stores. It's not to my liking.

Ordered Regular online with $40 off $100 at CashRewards other day, so now stocked up for winter ;-)

Ask for a raincheck - can shop again when price doubles after sale ends.

Thanks for the post OP but, dear lord, so much empty calorie "food" there.

    • +1

      Par for the course.

      • +1

I am by no means a "food is fuel" person but there is just so much of the supermarket I just don't wander into because of the amount of "non food".

        • +1

"Food is fuel.. if you get picky about what you put in the tank, your engine is gonna die. Now shut up and eat your garbage."

        • +5

The majority of supermarkets are filled with non-foods. Aisles and aisles of absolute rubbish that the muppets love to buy, usually in small containers and packets (overpackaged, overmarketed & overpriced). But then when you look at the diabetes epidemic, it doesn't surprise. Just look at the commercials on TV (if you still watch it; I don't). Junk food nation. Or simply look at OzBargain food posts.

        • +2

@cheepwun: Completely agree on all points. When we first went to the US in the late 80s there were ads everywhere about the diabetes foundation. Then I had one of their pastries and I understood. Not the nice buttery ones we had, just compressed sugar. I have one Thai ready made curry sauce I love but I use it to shred a whole bunch of vegetables to go with it. I really can't believe there is a market out there for most of this stuff.

    • +8

Real food never goes on special.

      • +1

Except for fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and …

      • +3

I always find fresh produce is reasonably priced, especially when they are reduced to clear.

    • +2

The packaging might be empty calories, but the product is full of them!

  • +2

Can someone please let Clive know the Tim Tams are on special?

Damn, now I can land a Tim Tam in a man and ham from a can called Spam into a pan; thanks man, I'm a fan!

    • -4

The Campbell Soup Company (owners of Arnott's) congratulates you on your choice of Tim Tams.
Hormel Foods Corporation thanks you on your choice of Spam.

We have only chosen the finest crop production techniques and genetically modified ingeredients for your pleasure. Please also consider Cadbury products as well. Mondelez international (Cadbury's parent company) has some words on their website about their fine genetically modified confecionery. You know it's good if the government has approved their use. All are equally ideal for administering self-harm. Enjoy them alone or in combination with friends and family.

      Again, congratulations on your choice!

Can anyone reach the Woolworths web site at the moment? I haven't been able to load the page since just after 5pm.

Is there a good website or App that can remind you of items on specials? Trolley App is gone and Coles App will remind only about coles items.
