Photography: Wi Fi Enabled SD Cards?

Hi!

I am lazy, and never get around to connect my Sony camera to transfer my photos. I was thinking of getting a wi-fi enabled SD card for an upcoming holiday but looking at reviews of apps on the Google Play store is quite disheartening:

Keenai (formerly Eye-Fi)
Toshiba Flashair

Any of these cards (or others) is worth to have and works well?

Thanks!

  • I had an eye-fi and it worked great with my 5D3. Unfortunately I lost it so I replaced it with a Toshiba Flashair which is rubbish. It is really hard to get it to connect and when it does it only connects for about 2.3 seconds. Maybe it is just a bad card.

    • I get the feeling eye-fi was good but ended up being sold to Ricoh and it went downhill from there.

  • +1

They're crap in general. I've used eye-fi and flashair and they're just absolute rubbish. Slow, tricky to connect and super flaky. You'd be better off just getting a USB OTG adapter for whatever phone/tablet you have or a WD Mypassport wireless pro (the one with the SD card reader)

  • I used an Eye-Fi card and while it did work for me and was reliable, it was simply too slow to do what I wanted. I wanted to send full size RAW files at a decent speed.
