150

New store that opened recently, can be located bottom level of Myer Centre Brisbane CBD (near Breadtop, Mcdonalds). Currently have 50% off all food. I managed to get 2 Banh Mi for $5. They also have "European" sandwiches for $3 and things like Vermicelli for $5.

Sorry I didn't get to take a pic but I have a feeling this deal will end very soon (most likely tomorrow).

Grab it while stocks last!

    People should try it. Recommend.
In Melbourne Footscray you have to pay $5 to $6 for one.

    • $4 in Sunshine!

      • Which store in Sunshine? I usually go to Fresh Chilli Deli and they were $5+ each.

        • Don't the specific name but the bakery near the newsagent does $4 rolls.

      • Not good as Banh Mi NHU LAN. lol

    Thanks OP. :)

As a side, note there's Pho shop near the Vietnamese Baguette shop. Grab the vermicelli noodle BBO Pork bowl for $9.90 very tasty and quick service too!

cool! seems like there are heaps of Viet places popping up in Brisbane CBD. A banh mi usually costs around $6-$8 from the stores I've seen.

  • They open at 7am.

They have been running out of bread, meat or whatever at 12pm so get in quick.

Otherwise Pho Dac nearby has 2 4 1 for the whole of June.

when you pay like 30c to 60c in vietnam, i find it hard to see even $2.50 a bargain :D

    • +5

on your way back from your 60c vietnamise lunch you could drive past venezuela and fill up your tank for $3

    • We're paying $8.50 a roll in Darwin.

Where was that? I was in Vietnam few weeks ago and cheapest I saw on the streets of Saigon was 20k - $1.20. There was a queue of locals there too so not a 'tourist trap'.

Most were about 25k including Nuh Lan in Saigon and the Bahn Mi Queen of Hoi An.

      • central saigon is usually expensive (depending on where you are). even for vietnamese. the key is to watch the locals pay and how much they hand over (and learn the usual prices for things). i had one guy explain to me that its 20k for everyone with one seller. you're talking about central saigon so its pricey. the same is happening to bangkok.

vietnamese are notorious for ripping foreigners off (national sport), and it's not uncommon to be tricked/forced to pay double. always need to ask beforehand how much, and even then it's no guarantee.

sometimes the locals (other customers) lining up will be in on it. it's like a national sport for them. look for the strange looks, arrogant smiles and brief words in vietnamese that seem like they're talking about you. most often they are.

highest price i saw was 80k on a roadside restaurant between nha trang and dalat. russian tour buses, so yeah, everything was inflated.

kudos for the downvotes. humour is often lost with todays youth.

lowest ever paid for black coffee was 5k, the guy refused anymore as i wanted to give him extra for filling up my drink bottles with water and ice. just couldnt even force it on him. very rare. random town in the south.

usually 8-10, and 12 or so for milk. 20k is too much, and reserved for fancy indoors coffee houses.

for $3 id verify the "meat" used in the rolls…

    • the meat was good for me

  • How does it compare to the one inside 300 on Queen?

    • sorry can't comment as I've never been, but for $2.5 it was pretty good, not as good as the inala ones, but you can't really fault them, they had 15 people there working frantically trying to get their orders through and it was really quick!
