Duck Feather Quilt Has This Gamey Smell, How to Get Rid of It?

Hi all, recently bought this Royal comfort duck feather quilt from ebay mega deal. Received it today after a big delay- opened the packing up with excitement and it all smells gamey.

Any idea if its usual with these type off quilts.

How to get rid of this smell so that I can start using it?

Hi There. All feather down products have the gamey odour. Unfortunately, it never really goes away. You will find in certain weather, it smells less and sometimes more….humidity plays a part in the smells department. Cheers!

    • thanks

    • i found that it goes away eventually but yes, definitely a bit offputting at first

  • Did you read the original thread?
It is allegedly awful quality and people are returning them

    • Thanks, all on the same boat. I will be returning too. What a piece of crap.

  • Hire a rugged man for a couple of nights, to kickstart the musk process.

  • Left mine outside on clothes line for 4 or more days, then sprayed with glen20. Cannot really smell it now.
But yeah poor quality but to much hassle to return it.

  • yep sun wind and rain or a shot gun?
