Earn Double Points When Using Velocity Global Wallet Visa Pre-Paid Debit Card

90

Got this decent deal via email today and thought it was worth spreading the word. THIS DEAL MAY BE TARGETED

Velocity Global Wallet, the pre-paid Visa debit card which comes with every Velocity Frequent Flyer Card is offering double earn points until the end of July. Instead of earning .5 Velocity Points in Australia and 1 Velocity Point overseas per dollar, you can earn 1 Velocity Point in Australia and 2 Velocity Points overseas per dollar.

I believe the 1 velocity per dollar in Australia is among, if not the best in Australia for a Visa card with no fees. Looks like Virgin are trying to woo over Qantas Cash users, who are about to change their domestic earn rate to a terrible .25 Qantas Points per dollar.

Terms and Conditions:
Offer only available to the named recipient of this email.
Not valid in conjunction with any other offer and non-transferable.
To be eligible for double Velocity Points you must activate your Global Wallet® card, load and spend between 00:01 AEST 27 June 2017 and 23:59 AEDT 31 July 2017 (‘Campaign Period’). You will receive 1 Velocity Point for every AU$1 spent in Australia and 2 Velocity Points for every AU$1 (in equivalent overseas currency) spent overseas during the Campaign Period.
The Points earned will be allocated to your Velocity Account within six weeks of the end of the Campaign Period.
Points will be awarded once, and only to the Velocity member who received this email.

Velocity Points earn applies to purchases made by use of the Global Wallet® card only and excludes ATM withdrawals, quasi cash transactions, fees and charges, account adjustments, reversed transactions and gambling transactions.*

  • I didn't get this but it would be great if so. Great offer.

  • Be careful using global wallet as they have an inactivity charge. Only activate the card if you are going to use it regularly.

No activity charge if balance is zero. Just don't keep money on it when you're not using it.

Fyi the currency exchange on all of these global wallets aren't optimal. #datspread

  • Where are you getting the 0.25 points per dollar for Qantas Cash from?
I just checked their website and it says
Earn 1.5 Qantas Points for every $1 spent in foreign currency
Earn 1 Qantas Point for every $2 spent in Australian dollars

  • Have the card and been using it regularly but no email

  • Hi,
im wondering if someone can share their experience, im looking to lock in the USD rate as im going to travel to US in november. my question is, would i still be able to exchange the currency back to AUD and withdraw the balance? what are the cons by doing this? i always use citibank plus and 28 degrees when i travel, but the rate is so tempting for me.
