@FabMan: Cheers mate, I decided to go with 3gb only. Coz I am not the kind of person who game much. And might upgrade a new card in 3 years from now.

      • I've basic been waiting for USB Type C to become commonplace, more so than type a. Which is really dumb.

  • missed it

  • $%* missed it again

    • f@@rk f@@rk f@@rk.same here!

  • I almost popped on this.
Any other good tower options for around $1,000 - $1,200 out there?

  • +1, even though expired.

    Great price, great deal, OP!

    :)

Even at the new price of $1700 with the code it's still a good deal

  • Since when did people start buying Dell PC's again??? I must be stuck in the 90's…

    • People never stopped buying Dell equipment.

  • +1

Damn this was a good deal. Picked it up for $1679 last week, $198 more than this deal !!

    • me too but its still a great price

  • I been reading the comments, seems I should replace the power supply, anyone got any good recommendations

    • What comments are you referring to and why would you need to do that?

      • Read it in the comment section of the last two sales. Idk comments made it seem like the psu could be better and I don't really know stuff about computers

        • +4

Dell specifically design these PCs so that each component is capable of running smoothly, without the need to upgrade/swap out parts.

  • Anyone had a follow-up email from Dell post the automated ebay/paypal purchase confirmation ?

    • +1

Nothing so far for this one.

I purchased a Dell monitor last week as well, and it took them 3 days before I received the initial email stating it had been shipped, so I'm expecting just as long for this too.

  • +1

For anyone interested, I just received notification from eBay that my order has been shipped.

No email from Dell as per last time I ordered something from them, and at this stage no tracking number that works.

    • Thank you for your comment, I messaged them today about my order. Was getting worried

  • +3

You can use the order number from the Ebay Sent email to get your Dell tracking page:

    The URL is: https://www.dell.com/support/orders/au/en/audhs1/Order/Detai…

and then you need to add the order number on the end from your ebay email eg:

    DELLORDERNO874257264

    would make the full url:

    https://www.dell.com/support/orders/au/en/audhs1/Order/Detai…

    • Yup :) But unfortunately I've found it's not the most accurate based on previous purchases from Dell.

Still, it's better than nothing. While eBay is giving an ETA of the 17th-21st, via the Dell page it is giving an ETA of the 12th.

Once it's in Startracks hands we will know for certain, as I believe they send in Startrack Express shipping once it hits Australia (well at least what they did with other things I've ordered from them).

  • On a side-note - does anyone have any thoughts on what a decent graphics card would be for 1080p gaming on this machine ? Half considering selling the included GTX1070 while they are at inflated prices…

Although I guess that might have warranty implications from Dell

    • 1060.

Although prices of the 1060 have gone up.. I guess so has the 1070 too.

  • I still haven't received my notification from eBay that my order has been shipped :( anyone else? Probably message them again.

    • Mine is still saying a delivery ETA of the 12th according to Dells website. Though I haven't received any tracking information.

What did Dell say when you contacted them?

      • They said its takes 3-4 days to process an order than you will receive a order number I think, which would have been Thursday or Friday and they also wanted a phone number for verification or confirmation. pretty much what they said to me on Thursday or Friday, still waiting to hear something about my order

  • As an update, the Dell website now lists my package as "with local carrier", and has provided a tracking code. (still no emails btw)

If you wish to use this tracking code, don't click on the link on the Dells website as that will take you to their "dbschenker" site which is useless IMO.

Go straight to Startracks website and plug it in there. Mine is marked as Express post, and will be delivered tomorrow, yay :)

    What's everyone elses status at?

    • I just got a text this morning with tracking link and advising that delivery planned for 17.07. In the tracking details it is scheduled for delivery 12.07 - we shall see tomorrow!

    • Mine has been 'ready for pickup' since 10:55 yesterday - estimating 14th for delivery to Adelaide from WA - not too hopeful of that.

  • I wouldn't get too excited about delivery today or even this week unless your Startrack tracking page actually shows progress beyond 'awaiting pickup'. I called up StarTrack and apparently the items are still with DBSchenker, and they are yet to schedule an actual pickup (for my order at least) I'm expecting it sometime next week I'd guess.

  • +3

    Mine just arrived, yay :)

Dells tracking seems to be hopeless to be honest, as I received a text message from Dell 30mins ago stating the order has been shipped and will be delivered tomorrow lol. Always go with what StarTrack says once it's in their hands.

If anyone has any questions about specific components (such as the motherboard), I'll make a follow up post to this soon.

    • I'd be keen to know the make/model of the GTX 1070

      • It would most likely be just the Nvidia GTX 1070 Founders Edition Reference card

      • +1

        Yep the NVIDIA founders edition.

    • Also interested in what wattage the power supply ends up being

  • +2

Just received mine too (Perth) - hopefully everyone else gets theirs soon!

    • I think mine will come next week :( really wanted to use it on the weekend

  • Just wondering if anyone has tested DOTA2 under 2K resolution using this 1070 graphics card?

I am thinking about to get a 144hz 2K monitor but not sure if it can work properly.

    Thanks.

  • +1

For anyone interested, I can confirm that the motherboard that comes with this Dell is the Intel Z270 board.

Also, the GTX1070 is of course the founders edition.

  • So setting up my pc, I can uninstall McAfee right? It's say I have an active subscription but McAfee is useless right? Just get bitdefender and malware bytes is good enough?

    • I would recommend putting a fresh install of Windows 10 on it.
