  • Dunno what i ordered but i got it!

  • Out of stock again!

  • Out of stock again

  • out of stock just as I was paying for it in my cart!

  • +1

Telstra was a bit slow today. Didn't replenish stock until 13:26~ today. I guess everyone would have been refreshing like crazy from 12:50 onwards.

  • Got mine today. It seems faulty as I can't get them to charge. Tried with my Nexus 6P and also with the USB extension it came with but still does not charge. Light does not turn on. This sucks guys.

Edit - Got it working now. Make sure to connect the plug all the way in the jack guys all good now. Unfortunately my Nexus 6P does not have the capability of charging the earphones.

  • Mine arrived today… However they're not compatible with my Sony XZ Premium. The 3.5mm jack does not fit and when inserted, a 'not supported' message appears on the phone.

    • +1

that's really odd. I thought all android phones generally all use the same TRRS pin layout.

Sony must want you to use their own Sony ® noise cancelling headphones..

      • My mistake. The 3.5mm does fit but it makes a hiss when connected, then displays the unsupported message. They phone does not recognise the am180s when using SoundAbout.
The AM180 does however work in my old Z1 and direct in the Dualshock controller. It's definitely not the headphones, definitely the phone itself.

        I'll get a 3.5 4pin to 3.5 4pin extender adaptor and see if that makes a difference.

        • +2

How can a 3.5mm plug not fit into a 3.5mm hole? It's a standard for a reason. They don't go and make 3.6mm plugs just for giggles.

        • @lostn: Yes… Yes… I know. The AM180s work in the old Z1, they even work in an iPhone 4. What with it being a standard 3.5mm jack, it's a shocker! You would expect a 3.5mm to be standard across the range… But this is Sony.

Sony use 'Smart Connect' on their phones - I've had it before with a different headset. Eventually there will be an update but at the moment they're fine for use on the Dualshock 4.

        • @LaughItUpFuzzball: Is it still a tight fit inside the 3.5mm port on your XZ? I understand some software issues are happening, but physically is it a tight fit still, or have you sorted that out?

        • @lostn: Yes, it's still a tight fit in the 3.5mm port on the XZP. Connection is fine, recognition is an issue.

  • These are back in stock again. Ordered one

  • Missed out again! tried 4 times now and miss out every time. Desperate to get a pair before a long flight :/

    • +1

The daily window is very small. Check at noon time and refresh every 2 minutes. I finally managed to get one today. And that's only because I have a day off from work.

      • Thanks, will keep trying :/

    • +1

I noticed they only released 50 today not 100. Check the purchase history of the item and see when they will put them up for sale it's normally around noon each week day. GL getting one tomorrow.

  • Has anyone's headphones been shipped yet? Ordered on the 7th :\

    • +1

Yes, ordered 5th, arrived 7th. Sydney.

    • Ordered on 6th, shipped today according to eBay

    • Ordered on 6th had email sent yesterday morning (10th) arrived today via normal auspost mail but in startrack bag -SE Qld

Any hope for any more stock today?

    • Doesn't look like it :(

      • None today either. Sounds like this is it. I got mine on the last day they were available, which had only half as much stock as a usual day. That must have been the last of them.

  • +1

Anyone else disappointed with the sound quality?

    • +1

      Yes

    • -2

for $23 you really shouldn't be disappointed

      • They retail for more than that.

    • Listening to Hotel California right now. Has some base and it sound very muffled.

Not impressed and not surprised they were on sale for $23.

I haven't tried any other Active Noise cancelling headphone but my Hyper X Cloud 2, Xiaomi Mi Hybrid Pro HD Triple Driver Earphones and Xiaomi Mi IV Hybrid Earphones sound so much better then this..

  • +1

To those to who have a pair, how long did it take for the red light indicator to turn off when charging? Noticed its been 5 hrs and still red…

    • Mine never turned off. Had them plugged in about 8 hours

    • Mine has no indicator at all when charging. Do you think I got a dud?

      • Make sure you plug it weel into the jack, you would think it is properly connected but in my case it wasn't. I had to force a little bit to have it charging.

        • That worked.

Now that I've had an opportunity to try them, I have found that the ANC is not worth a damn. Also the passive noise isolation is almost non-existent. The Xiaomi Pistons which do not have ANC have a lot of passive noise blocking from the ear gels. Things are softer with them in. I would say they block more noise without ANC than these do with ANC.

The Huawei would be a lot better if there were better ear gels that block noise, in addition to the ANC.

  • +1

using these connected to a pc listening to play music and it sounds like im in an auditorium….music sound is dreadful….am i doing something wrong? Havent bothered to use the noise cancelling part yet

    • +1

They're not as good sounding as $5 pistons but they're in line with what you're going to expect for $23-50. Pistons are an outlier.

Positional audio and instrumment separation isn't great. But what is at this price point?

    • Try moving the input plug around. Mine has to sit out by about 1mm, otherwise they sound echo-y and crap like yours do.

  • +1

Is anyone else experiencing problems with the unit. I have fully charged the headphones but cant seem to get more than 1 hour of ANC. Have I got a faulty unit ??

    • +4

I think I have the same issue. Fully charged overnight. After around an hour the ANC green led starts cycling on and off.

    • +1

The battery is very tiny, so maybe that's as much as you're going to get?

      • +1

All the reviews that I was reading said >3 hrs..

    • +1

My earphones took around 6 hours to charge and the ANC also started cycling on and off within 30 minutes… This shouldn't be right?

      • Exact same issue with mine. There was one time the Red light was cycling on and off while charging. I don't think a flat battery is causing the problem. It's just a faulty batch

        • Could faulty batch be the reason why there was a aprice drop?

        • +2

@zero23: I think they are just old stock. I will give it a few charge cycles and see if the battery life gets better

        • @pacsman: After 4 recharge cycles. Battery life improved to 1.5 hours (from the original 30mins)

        • @lakers1222: I have the same issue. I'm up to 1 hr operating time after 2 cycles.

  • Haha forgot i ordered these. These are sitting on my desk unopened. Probably wont use them.

Do you telstra accept returns or are these sale stock?

  • +1

    • Mine are really crap too. I want to return them. Not worth $23 IMHO.

      • just sell it to fellow desperado ozbs. i prefer save up and buy Bluetooth. once go wireless cant go back to wire.
put it $2-3 more not too much :) did you use huawei phone?

  • Available again now

  • Out of stock again…

  • bah! i have been waiting for these to pop up again… and i missed again.

  • hmm nah, until someone post a good review i wont touch this.

  • Had in cart but then all out of stock before it could go through. Didn't bother to read the comments as I was in such a rush to get in but now I'm glad to have missed out. Reviews have really scared me off. Thanks Ozbargainers ;)

  • I requested a return and received a refund within about 30 minutes…

    • And you don't have to return the product?

      • I don't know. I will if I'm requested to.

      • I just checked… The refund email says that I can keep them.

        • not surprise, telstra is like that. stupid
