Could anyone provide me any suggestions of laptops for general usage
- Torrents/Streams, Email, Music
- Portable
- Decent battery life (5-8 hours)
- Large storage space for movies, music etc
- and decent speed !
Looking to spend about $1,000 and have noticed a few good Lenovo deals. Any suggestions would be great :)

You don't really need any specific hardware to achieve those tasks you mention (any computer could do those) but what you might want to specify is how portable you'd like it to be (is it used in the home or do you carry it wherever you go) and what kind of features you want (dual hard drives, backlit keyboards, a trackpoint, or Thunderbolt / USB type C support)
I use a Thinkpad E570P as my main work laptop, but I often carry around a much older HP EliteBook Folio 1040 whenever I travel.
The E570p is a powerful laptop but is very heavy, and has a ton of ports, while the Folio is inferior it comes to connectivity and is very thin.
another thing to consider is build quality. Don't expect a $900 dollar Lenovo E470 to have the same sturdiness / polish as a $1500 Macbook, for the same kind of build you'd need to spend more than a grand usually.
