Did not want nor need this.

    Bought anyway.

    The addiction worsens.

  • 2 for ~2 on the way! Thanks OP!

  • Bought! Don't know what I need it for, but hey - A$0.88!

  • +1

Bought in a similar deal over a month ago, still haven't received it :(

    • Mine not here either, some other China stuff from the save time is.

    • Same - dispatched 28 July from Gearbest. Still waiting.

      • +2

Just received mine from last deal so won't be long.

        • Arrived today :) thanks

    • Received last week.
Being used to hold phones for motion activated videoing inside house.
Work well, but then it just sits there. Probably not great if want to bend the legs a lot.

    "Octopus?"

    "It's a water animal"

    • +1

Question for you: what is better than octopus recipe?

      • +1

        Eight octopus recipe!

  • Thanks I missed out last time

These are great for youtube in the shower. Put it in and hang it over the side!

      Do you get many viewers?

    • +1

Put it in and hang it over the side!

Sounds like you were lucky enough to get a larger version than the rest of us.

      • +2

Sounds like you were lucky enough to get a larger version than the rest of us.

        My wife concurs with you

        • +5

          Your wife knows izequel?

    • +1

      YouTube or RedTube?

  • Only one colour has the code? I tried for the white / black but didn't work.

  • Compatible with Moto G4 Plus or G5 Plus?

    • +1

Have from previous deal. Fitted my smaller Moto G4 play. Spring loaded - opens to take up to 80mm wide phone, so should take 76.6mm wide Moto G4 Plus.

But it's not great - can't rely on it wrapping around objects securely like a Joby Gorillapod tripod. As a basic tripod, it works.

  • Thanks picked 2.

  • +2

The real question is would you trust this with your $1000+ device?

    • +1

$1000+? Am using these from last deal, with a few free Android phones (from Woolies deal last year), for basic motion activated video surveillance in home. Works well.

The real question is… Why would you want to use such a cheap plastic holder like this with an expensive phone??

      • The whole point of the design is versatility - they can be wrapped around a pole or tree branch. I'd hate to be in the middle of taking a photo when your phone/camera comes crashing down. I have the original Joby Gorillapod for what it's worth to use with my RX100 (these simply have an attachment but retain the original tripod mount) which I paid $19 for and hasn't failed on me yet

        • Also have original Joby Gorillapod (2 for $6 deal). That design has versatility. Even it is limited to certain weight use.

The tripod in these ones are rip off of that design & lack any real strength, so would not recommend using it wrapped around branches etc. The camera holder is from a selfie stick.

That's why I ask why would you even consider this product with an expensive phone?

But perfect as basic cheap tripod for my use with free phones.

        • @Infidel: Where the hell did you get the original 2 for $6?

        • +1

          @scepticpsych:
This little known site called OzBargain of course😁 Ted's $6.78 deal
          Sold 1 on Gumtree for $10 - profit😋

  • I don't think I have ever planned to make a purchase at Gearbest..

    Thanks OP! Great price.

  • +3

Thanks ordered 2 but got charged 1c for shipping

  • +1

got 2 thanks op. i got 1 from last time too - its surprisingly useful

  • +3

Mine arrived from previous deal, very crap quality.

    • You expect a lot for $1 in previous deal.
It's a cheap plastic camera tripod and a selfie stick phone mount that screws on the top. Explained that in last deal - built one from parts from previous deals.

Quite happy with product received for fixed use (not wrapped around branches etc like a Joby Gorillapod) - holding phone for videoing in home. Wouldn't expect it to hold up to much wear & tear. Wouldn't use this to take photos with good phone.

But for 89c delivered, it's ok & may be useful if you don't expect too much of it.

  • +3

    Comes to $0.89 using PayPal.

This could be a deal breaker for some, but I took the gamble.

    • +2

1c charge for shipping as commented earlier

      • +1

        Thanks. I felt jibbed.

        • +4

          I was shocked - 1c for shipping… Almost cancelled order😋

      • +1

I don't understand, it says $0.00 for shipping. Not going to buy this product, but lately all my GB orders have been showing up as 1 cent more when I go to the PayPal screen but bill the correct amount.

        • +1

Shows Free shipping, but 1c shipping each showed for me at & after PayPal. Shows charged 2c extra for order of 2 in PayPal Activity.

        • @Infidel: I would contact the Gearbest rep to get that partial refund

        • +1

          @Savas:
To 2c or not to 2c - I think I'll pass on the refund request.

        • +1

It must be a worm, collecting 1c from PayPal transactions. This method was detailed in the 1983 documentary WarGames presented by Matthew Broderick.

        • +1

          @Infidel:You no professional.

        • +1

          @altomic:
Just think of those now mythical 1c deals I could miss out on…

          OzBargain badge returned.
          Hangs head in shame.
          Walks slowly towards sunset😭

My life outside OzBargain has robbed me of my time for OzBargain professionalism.

        • +2

@malouphix: and Brewster's Millions with Richard Pryor.

  • +1

Damn that's cheap! Similar ones at Big W sell for $20. Thanks man.

    • +2

The joys of being a professional.

  • Code does not exist?

    • +1

I fixed it, try now. Make sure logged in first.

      • Thanks mate. Ordered

        • +2

You're welcome. I'm here all night for this mega deal.

  • How is it octopus style if it has 3 legs?

    • +1

You must be fun at parties.

      • +5

I stand in the corner and intensely maintain eye contact.

  • im waiting for this from last deal

  • Received mine last week, but the spring came off on first use when I try to mount my phone. Quality is not good

  • have it for years, in short, dont trust it too much…

you dont want to put it with your phone near a cliff….

PS, great tripod for many webcams. some times you just need one of these things to archive some angle without we holding it.

  • Would be a lot more popular if changing the name to Tentacle Style

  • I can't miss it, ordered.

  • I wonder where OP got that discount from…and whether it's applicable on any other items.

  • Been looking for something hold my compact up against the fence. Looks like this might do the trick. Bought two since it sounds like they'll break quickly :P

  • Hmmm last post 2 hours ago & getting (2 browsers) "this code is not for this product"….assume expired but OzB not updating????

…………..ah, may be limited to default colour option, switched to that and it worked. Thanks OP.

  • I'm not buying more inferior crap I don't need.
If I want my phone to stay up whilst I watch videos I put a heavy book behind it and then let the phone rest on it so my hands are free.

  • Is it safe to use paypal there? The site is in chinese.

    • No, use your credit card instead.

      • Also PayPal exchange are crap. Your account will be charged in US. Using 28 degree or citi bank will provide a better exchange rate.

        • You can link 28 degrees card to your PayPal for buyer protection. Then you can choose USD during payment both in gear best and PayPal to avoid PayPal conversion rate.

  • The code doesn't seem to work anymore. The price goes up by 3.52 when code is applied.

  • It doesnt work for me… price actually goes up $5 something after the code

  • Worked for me a couple of minutes ago, just need to login

  • worked. Thanks OP. Got 2 for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Film stuff at home. Not sure. Less than a price of a nescafe blend 43 coffee

    • They'd probably taste better and be more nutritious than blend 43….

  • +1

Lucky I missed last deal. GOt 2 Thanks op.

  • Not working for me logged in and typed 80%off$1 .. price actually goes up by $3 to $8 something for 2

    • Because you're using the wrong coupon, it's "80%0ff$1".

  • Haha didnt realised that. But still didnt work for me. What a spin out

    • You need to also have the items selected/ticked in your cart before applying the code. I just purchased a couple of these so code still works.

  • Bought mine to set up old iPhone as security camera.

    • +1

That's what I'm using a few of these for with multiple free Android phones. Using free Alfred App.

Monitoring elderly relative I care for, so required motion activated set up. Teamed with Aldi motion sensor lights. Monitoring down towards floor to check for movement & falls. Rings me if movement. Good enough for use inside house.

  • Code only applies to black/grey color. can be used as cup/clothing hanger as well

  • +1

It only works on the Black colour one. I first tried red and no discount, then changed to black and it was discounted.

    • Thanks for heads up. I originally tried the code on the black & blue and it wasn't recognised.

  • Not working for me again.. says the code has expired and goes up to $4.44 :(

    • Just ordered still work for me.

I already have one and thinking no need for me to have another one but $0.88 … :p

  • Normal price of 2.66 goes to 4.44 upon applying 80%0FF$1 code.

  • Unless you absolutely must have flexible legs, a regular tripod with sturdier legs is far safer. These are quite thin legs. But then the price is cheap…

  • Oh man, got 1 and Paypal charged me $0.89 instead of $0.88. What a ripoff !!

  • Very weird for me. It wont work for me. After i put the codes. Goes to $4.44. And it says code does not exist

  • Actually i figured out… it has to be done with desktop or laptop. Not from your phone.
    Thanks. Purchased.

  • I bought one in the previous offer used it as a stand for my Logitech X50 wireless speaker.

  • bought one thanks

  • +1

Code is working for me but i'm being charged shipping…
