UberEATS Driver...worth the time or do something else?

Hey all,

I am seeking to find a means to earn extra cash, just as a side job because I've got some financial milestones I wish to hit.

Despite having a decent full time job, I need some extra cash to meet these goals. Given I've got spare time I would like to try out something.

One option was UberEATS. Reason was I have an old car, spare time and I live in an area with lots of restaurants.

Questions:
- Pay per hour/delivery during peak hours (profits minus Uber's share)
- Car or bike for method of delivery? Why? Only reason I ask is someone told me there is a higher cut of pay for those riding bikes, not sure if it is true.
- If not UberEATS, what other small casual, on-my-own-time jobs would you suggest?

Thank you so much in advanced!

Is there a higher cut for bike riders? Is this why whenever I order ubereats it says it's a bicycle but 99% of the time a guy in a car rocks up?

Car doesn't meet the requirements for Uber Eats, so they register a bike.
Source: Awesome uber driver who used my $100 ING Bank referral code and got us both $100. Cheapest Uber I ever caught (cost -$85).

Paid per delivery. No deliveries, no pay

    • Car or bike for method of delivery? Why? Only reason I ask is someone told me there is a higher cut of pay for those riding bikes, not sure if it is true.

This is true, uber says 'bikes' are cheaper to run, so less money for you.

Now cars are useless for ubereats in the city (hard parking to get food), but better in the burbs. Bikes are better in the city, but not as good in the burbs. So depends on the area you want to work.

Ubereats can work as you work your own hours etc and the statup costs are low (assuming you have a car already).

If you like this advice, PM and use my referral code please when you sign up :)

    • Bikes as in bicycles? They got a policy on motorbikes?

      • You can use a car, or yes bikes as in bicycles and motorbikes!

Job distances vary depending on the mode of transport

  • Seeing as you've GotSomeTime, UberEATS could be good for you.
