Was looking at getting the regular J1 over the mini but I saw this special on a coles:

I'm not too sure there is a lower price for this available after I've done a few google searches, amaysim does have a J2 for $175 but im not sure if thats locked to their network or not? https://www.amaysim.com.au/2g-switch-off#get-a-new-3g-or-4gp…
and for $60 cheaper I think I can live with the 'mini' version over the regular (not too sure how much of an upgrade in specs the J2 is from the J1)
J1 Mini has no USB-OTG capability, or a compass chip, both of which I wish I'd known for sure before purchase, as two key apps I like to use won't work without those.
