I'm likely going to buy a second hand one and wanna know what is the price range I should look out for because I'm new to the Samsung market. I don't want to be ripped off or get attracted to bargain that it turns out to be a defect Galaxy.

I didn't know there are so many types of galaxy. I'm a complete newbie
99% of what you see in stores and in ads is the S line, eg S5, S6, S7 and the newer S8 and S8+, and there is the big Note line, so the Not 7 and newer Note 8.

I made the move. I was originally on the Galaxy, then moved to iphone due to the fact the OS is so much faster on iphones. Now im back and using the SGS8…its a great phone, but it's still bloody laggy for me. Only when i went back did i realise how much i missed a fully customisable phone. It's exactly how i want it, and it's a beautiful phone. Dont go to the Note if you wont use the pen often….its pretty much the same size as the SGS8+ with pretty much the same functions.

no. there's been a lot of complaints about how galaxy is really laggy. Users on youtube. It's the no one issue but overall a nice phone.
Good move to head away from Apple, but God, a Samsung phone would be your worst bet. If you're looking for a good flagship; the new Google Pixel 2 is about to be available.

For Flagship specs; I would be looking for a HTC U11 deal for under $700. Saying that, the HTC U11 Plus is just about to be released which should push the price of the U11 down.
