But you spelt Bargain wrong. Now I am all confused

  • "$107.95 GST Inc" - If you are selling to consumers GST needs to be included no need to state it. I don't want to have to do sums in my head every time I buy something!

    • +1

Thanks for mentioning that, we get orders form electricians (business customer) for this product, just want to make it clear to everyone.

      • Ok, Ozbargain is the consumer market, it would be so annoying if every title had inc/ex GST in it.

        • Just got it removed, thanks for your common.

Op can you suggest few features on this light which Xiaomi Ye light strip doesn't cover.

Keen to find out why someone will spend around $75 more on this light strip when compared to Xiaomi.

    • +2

Don't have to use the horrible Xiaomi app might be one reason.

    • +1

Its zingbee rather than Wifi and works with the hue ecosystem, which means it also supports HomeKit, google and Alexa. It’s also about 5 times brighter so can actually be used to light a room.

    • +4

Xiaomi Yeelight LED Strips offer similar features,

This is a good review about this topic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lab2fyVx4Iw

The fact is, we would carry Xiaomi led light if it had SAA or RCM safety approval which is necessary to have to be legally sold by Australian retailer.

If this product is faulty, the insurance company is not going to cover the damage it caused, maybe I'm thinking too far.

Xiaomi They are mostly on eBay.com sold by overseas sellers.

So this isn’t. Australian sourced stock? In which case it’s cheaper to import directly from amazon UK where it’s $110 even with their bad currency conversion.

    • Not an Australian sourced version but with RCM AU standard approval.

We also have Australian version that sales for $149.00

And yes, UK version is a bit cheaper, if you don't mind to wait for few week for it to arrive.

I didn't know Phillips Hue have light strips too. I'd totally get these if it weren't 4 times more expensive than the Xiaomi alternative.

    • +1

but it's 5 times brighter as claimed above.

      • +1

Yeah my mate has the light bulb and it's significantly brighter than my Yeelight. Totally see the advantage of the Phillips solution and as mentioned, I'd get this if it weren't for the price.

        • Anyone knows the detailed Features or Specification about this Xiaomi Strips? Can't find anything useful from their eBay listings.

This is what I have got from them:

          Form Color: White

With ya on that mate, if it were in price range between $65-75 will surely get this over Xiaomi. Bit too expensive at this price point.

Purchased from these guys on Ebay when ebay had a sale which brought the items down to $113 at the time, so $108 is a good price even tho it has a US plug but they provided a international adapter to go with it. Works well with my Philips motion sensor and hue tap

  • +1

You can ship this light strip from Amazon UK for $110. Throwing in a few more Hue products will offset the shipping cost.

    • Do they supply you a free power plug converter?

      • +2

Unfortunately they don't, but you can get one for about $1 on eBay.

        • +2

You got me on this one LOL, nothing bits eBay Hongkong Sellers' price.

Does anyone have any experiences with this and ScreenBloom they could share?

Looking to get some content-reactive monitor backlighting for a PC monitor using DisplayPort.

    • It's a very interesting software, there hasn't been any good Youtube review for it yet.

I have tried Hue Camera App for the same purpose, it looks like an easy solution only if you don't mind to point your phone camera at the screen every time to make it work and my battery was running out so fast.
