Bunnings 'Click' Brand 5 Port 7amp USB Travel Charger $7.50 (was $28)

1611

First time listing a bargain!

Found this little gem while looking for some Seasol at Bunnings; it's a 'travel' adaptor but really it's just a multi output USB charging device. It's capable of charging 5 simultaneous devices drawing a maximum current of 7Amps.

Supports:
2x fixed Android/iOS 'IQ' ports (Up to 5V/2.4A basically. Similar tech to Power3S, PowerIQ, VoltIQ found in the Chinese chargers);
2x 2.4 Amp outlets for tablets, etc., and;
1x 1 Amp outlet.

Obviously, the device has a multitude of uses. It's actually small enough to conveniently be used for traveling (no mains cord, the device looks like and plugs into the mains outlet like a big 'wall wort'). I bought two - cheap Raspberry Pi power supplies and can always use another USB charger!

Bought from Carrum in Victoria - best to ring your local store for stock.

Enjoy

Bunnings Morayfield will price match if you show them the photo. Just picked up a few and there are 14 units left. Good luck :)

      • Brisbane CBD to Morayfield would be a very long drive :D
        But great info thx mate!

  • What's VoltIQ?

They have these at the Ballarat Bunnings. There was about 10 of them hanging near the power boards and leads earlier today. They’re priced at $5.99

      Nice!

  • I swear click used to be sold at kmart back in the days when it sold decent items

  • Thanks for sharing - anyone tried hoppers Bunnings ?

I grabbed one from Epping (Vic) store and they had a few more left. Scanned at $17 but they were happy to match the $7.50 price once I showed them the photo from Carrum store.

  • Loads in Werribee, but at near full price - which is probably why there are loads.

  • took a lot of convincing to get it price matched at my local Bunnings, hope it is worth it.

    • Which store?

      • Hoxton Park

Went in to Fyshwick ACT Bunnings. Showed them the image of the post. The item was not listed in their system/stock but one of the staff lady remembered seeing it on the side rack for specials/clearance. It was marked as 13$. She price matched based on the OPs image. I have the image of receipt and price match docket. Image here…

    • I went into Fyshwick today but couldn't find them-even after 4 staff sorry team members looked. Where were they?

      • They were on the side of the lighthing rack back in light bulbs area. Not in the main shelves, but on the side hangings with a clearance tag. Look of staff lady "May". She knew the spot and helped me. I went in around 2pm and there were atleast 4 or 5 left :-)

  • Just picked up some of these from BUNNINGS MORAYFIELD (Qld). They have 14 units left in stock and will match the clearance price if you show them the photo :)

  • Plenty in SpringField Central. But prices at AUD$8.00

As much as I love the versatility I would honestly be scared to charge more than 3 items on one outlet.

Don't want to short circuit anything or trip a breaker.

    • Not sure if you are serious or that is meant to be a joke.

If you connected 70 of these to one power point and managed to get every one drawing their max of 35w then you might have a problem.

      • What about A. Isn't the max load of A like 15-20 A? Or am I wrong in here..tbh I am not 100% sure on max loads per circuit even though I have read up on this many times but I try to stay on the safe side after witnessing many hiccups. I know over 2.5kilowatts causes problems but amps alone I assumed there was a limit.

        • No you have that wrong. Even fully loaded running 7 Amps that is only 35w because the voltage is so low. The OUTPUT is up to 7amp but it isn't drawing anywhere near that from the wall. It is drawing a fraction of an amp from your wall socket, you could connect heaps of these to one wall socket.

What it draws from the wall is where the limit comes in, not what it can output. 7amps at 5v is nothing like 7amps at 240v. You can have a transformer that drops the voltage from 240v to 12v and outputs 40amps. You cant just think 40a is more than my powerpoint can take because you are not taking 40a at 240v. It would only be drawing a few amps from the wall and turning that into 40 amps at the 12v side.

You only need to look at what current they draw from the power point or what their total power usage in watts can be. What current they can output is irrelevant in terms of how many you can connect.

Input 100-240V AC 0.9A stated on unit.
          It's a low power device.
No reason for your anxiety or panic others.

        • @Duff5000: cool TIL so what is the max number of current or amps or wattage I should be looking at if the number of amps has no limit. Is it 2400 total watts or some other number on a single circuit / power outlet or socket?

        • @AlienC: i believe 2400w is the limit.

The main things that will get you to that are: Heater, kettle, dryer, air con. Most electronics are nothing near that. If you go over your power board or switch in your meter box will just trip and need to be reset, no big deal.

        • @Duff5000: the reason I ask is I only have one socket in my room which already has one power board.

Atm it's only using a small lamp and usb phone and tablet charger but if I decide to get a tv, laptop or pc then my power draw will increase heavily.. that's why I asked about amps. I know I will never pool above 1000 watts unless it is a very very cold day in winter which then I can probably only use a tv or laptop and not a pc.. but just wanted to make sure and check just in case because I am not sure what other sockets or appliances are on my circuit or if I maybe share with my roommate in the next room which can mean during winter we might trip each other's circuits off etc if we both use heaters and laptops and maybe more.

At most for the possible future I might have a 250 watt tv, 100 watt laptop, 600 watt computer, 20 watt lamp, 20 watt charger so that's about 1000 watts which leaves 1400 for a small heater so I should be technically safe. I can't think of anything else I might add besides another small usb charger for cheap Xiaomi usb powered peripherals. I like to try and jeep my power usage small for the moment but I know a large 4k 55"-65" TV can use a lot and a gaming pc with some beefy hardware can also drain a lot so am considering that in future purchases.

          @AlienC:
Lamp = essentially nothing assuming led
          phone charger = essentially nothing
          tablet charger = essentially nothing
Laptop = Very little, under 100w
4k 60in tv = Still very little and under 100w (old tvs were power hungry, new ones are not)
Gaming PC = Also nowhere near 600w. You might get a "1000w" power supply but a gaming rig at full load is only using around 300w.

You could connect 4 lots of everything above to one powerpoint and you would still be fine. It really isn't an issue.

Is the guy in the next room even on the same circuit? Work out which circuit turns your power point off and see if it turns his off also. If he isnt then you dont have an issue at all. If he is, you may have it trip if you both used electric heaters on high setting (2000w each) and a heap of other stuff at the same time. Really it is barely worth considering.

        • @Duff5000: hmm ok cool thanks I just didn't want to run the risk of blowing something with all these things running.. I know for most of the year we are okay but when winter or really cold days hit it can be scary to figure out which circuits or sockets still trip which as we have sometimes had many guests or visitors over for say a week or weekend and everybody had their phone and cameras and laptops and what not to charge so the place can become a wired charging mess.

I think one time during the peak of winter we had like 1 heater active in every room including our big major floor installed gas and electric one.. and somehow we didn't trip a switch haha lol.. There was at least I would say 5-6 total heaters ranging from big to small oil columns and some fan air ones all going in the house at the same time.. was a wonder how we did it all.

Back at my parents house they tried using 3-4 probably maybe even more ask at the same time and the circuit breaker immediately tripped and they all had to call me (as there was only some old women in the house lol) to fix it because my dad wasn't home lol

Electricity can be funny but I know ultimately it is just a balancing act of peaks and highs and spikes and lows and drops and differing amps and voltages and wattages so you gotta calculate every little bit of it to sustain it.

  • One remaining at Bunnings West Gosford, lucky to get an international adaptor for $7.50 let alone 5 port USB.

  • Anyone got one today that can post a receipt? My local Bunnings claim they will only price match if they have a receipt from the same day! Otherwise scanning at $25

  • Just found some stock at the Caroline Springs branch (VIC). Should be about 9 left though priced at $23! and they claim they don't price match other Bunnings, etc. but I got them to sell it to me for $7.00.

  • i wouldn't trust click brand… i've changed about 10 of my 20 click LED GU10 lights so far

  • Hate it when other sites rip off content from sites like OzBargain eg. https://hotdealsaustralia.com.au/bunnings-click-brand-5-port…

    • In small print "source: ozbargain"

      • It's minuscule and they probably added it later lol
