[Price Error] $70 off Meals Delivered @ Youfoodz

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Just found this deal. $70 off. Was able to get 8 meals delivered for under $10 bucks. The Mrs also did it for the delivery for the following week. I believe it expires tonight.

I won't, believe me, I'll be happy for all ozbargainers who receive their orders :)

    • +1

How come your user name doesn't read DisabledUser####?

  • No cancellation email this morning. I assume that the promo code charges back to the block or is part of their advertising budget so fingers crossed for my delivery tomorrow and next week!

    • +2

They're probably still in an emergency meeting discussing the tens of thousands of free orders. Takes time to turn a potential disaster for the business into a PR advantage. They have plenty of time to pull the plug on our orders.
But here's hoping we get the free meals😀

      • +1

Yep I think you are right. There would be a big meeting right now trying to decide what to do!
Funny thing is.. I actually want to try those meals now regardless of whether they are honored or not.
Maybe it was a marketing ploy.. because if they do cancel the orders, I may still put through a legitimate paid order to try their food.

        • I got hungry looking through the meal options. Seem interesting at good price. Without your deal & free code, I would never have checked out their site.

          My order is for tomorrow…
Already received $35 free Aussie Farmers delivery today. And Marley Spoon ($20 order, get $30 back from CashRewards) earlier this week. I won't starve😀

Thanks for an amazing first deal, even if it is cancelled.

        • And now you work for them, lol joking.
          Edit - associated removed now.

        • @Infidel: lol, don't think it a good idea to post comments as someone associated with youfoodz at this time

        • @Sainter4Life:
Yes… The time NOT to be associated is when the cancellations arrive😀

Slip of the finger posting on phoneđŸ˜±
          Now corrected.

        • +1

          @WatchNerd:
As if! Accidents happen when posting on phone.

        • @Infidel: You have a point mate. Did think there was any real chance for them to honour the deal anyways.

        • @Infidel:how did u get $30 cashback from a $20 order?

        • @tydd1231:
It's was a CashRewards deal $35 off $55 order plus $30 Cashback! Awaiting confirmation to get payment.

  • +11

Just got a call from YouFoodz. Order cancelled because the coupon code was "leaked" last night. And what a leak! Bummer.

    • +4

Ahhh really? Dang. That's alot of phone calls to make.

      • +1

Over 10k clicks & multiple orders - that's a lot of calls. Could send them broke cancellingđŸ˜±

        • +2

so if I don't answer my phone I will get my order….

        • @BeRad:
I thought of that too - no, they will still cancel.
Plus you may miss out on any offer of compensation.

    • +1

      darn :(

    • +3

      Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

      • (yes)😭

    • Everyone calm down. Lets not panic. Only 1 person has been called so maybe this person was order 10 001 and deal was only for the 1st 10 000.

      • But that's most of the fun with these deals. I've just cooked popcorn & got comfy for the comments to come.

Someone in Aussie Farmers free $35 deal reported order cancelled due to leak of code on OzBargain, but I got delivery this morning with $35 off.

        So some may be lucky🍀
        Seems you were👍

    • What compensation was offered?

      • +6

        What compensation was offered?

        Onion lunch with Tony Abbott.

    • Lmao as if they called you.

There was a plot, now they got 10k+ contacts, congrats

    • +3

As they say, no such thing as bad publicity.

Though we're not talking about 10K regular contacts. These are the contacts of "professionals" after all who aren't likely to buy anything from them ever (at regular prices) and will promptly unsubscribe from their email database.

  • -2

    Has this expired now?? :(

    • I just tried to enter it and it doesn't work so yeah..

    • +1

      Seriously?

    • +3

      Lol maddhatter87😆
Joined OzBargain too late for the party & posted that…
Posted under the first cancellation notice.
      And long after marked expired.

    • I have run out of negs. But I am waiting till I can use it again.

  • +1

    :)

  • +1

If I am them, i will send out emails to all orders offer 1/2 price discount.
Say you're now paying $35 for 7 meals.
Am i the only one will pay for it?

    • Id accept that offer.

      • I'd be down for that. I've heard margins on food though is <10%.
If anyone gets called.. ask them what the original code was used for. I'm curious.

        • +1

Where did you come across the code lockmc?

        • @nirok:
My brother called me last night. A friend gave it to him. Not sure where they got it from though!

  • anyone called them and confirmed order ??

Time to post a new deal?

  • just got an email saying order cancelled, but offered 2 free meals… :(

    • +4

But they have a minimum order of $69 so more sad.

      • damn…just as i thought at least i will get 2 free meals….

  • +2

    Your last order was #FakeNews

  • -1

They've got a sense of humour in the cancellation email…
Subject: Hey (your_name)! We broke the internet. Your last order was #FakeNews

Their PR people would have spent some time on how to break the news, rather than just cancelling.

    • My negs are gone so doing it the old fashion direct way. Neg

      • -1

Why, they could have said nothing just cancelled. At least they sugar coated the inevitable cancellations with humour & replied fairly quickly - unlike in some failed deals (eg HN, TGG not automatically refunding, etc).

        Cheer up📍
I've run out of negs too😋
We played OzBargainLotto đŸŽČđŸŽČ & lost (this time)

    • Their PR people would have spent some time on how to break the news, rather than just cancelling - as I suggested earlier.

  • +1

    lol #fakenews

emailed them to remove my details from database

    • +2

      That's old #FakeNews nowđŸ˜±
      Ah, you removed email content.

Really do not appreciate how they deal with this bug. May freeze my youfoodz account for a while.

    I hate #fakenews
    hashtag learnfromaussiefarmers

  • Taking the p1ss with we’ll give you 2 FREE meals as long as you spend 70 bucks

So now they have everyone's contact details so they can spam us all day

      • +1

yeah if you are gonna unsub make sure you do it from your order email as well as your cancellation email, they're separate lists in mailchimp :)

  • So disappointed.

  • +9

The "2 free meals" is really just $20 off when you spend $69 or more. Kind of disappointing.

The $20 off is a worse version of their previous offer from just a couple of weeks ago where you essentially got 3 meals for free when spending $69:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/334339

  • The inevitable cancel:(

  • +3

Note the two free meals offered in the email are when you spend the minimum of $69, so it's effectively a $20 discount off that. You can't just order the two free meals only.

EDIT: And axel32 beat me to it above.

  • Just received an email saying order will be cancelled. code was for competition winners only for the block and it was on various discount sites. They still offered a 2 meal free code though anyone else get this. I will try to redeem this.

    • +4

      anyone else get this.

Yep, did you not read any of the comments above yours?

  • +4

Well, I don't know if negative votes are warranted. The OP didn't state the source of the code and I googled it and found nothing so it wasn't widely publicly available. If you have been on Ozbargain for a while it is pretty much known that these sorts of things are a gamble, you win some and lose some. Knowing this you can decide whether sharing personal details are worth it. Logically this sort of thing could almost equal financial ruin for a company depending on its size. I think how the company handles it is more important, we got a timely cancel email and a coupon for two meals.

    • +1

It was an amazing first deal by lockmc👍
Pity it failed to deliver😭 But not fault of OP.

      • +5

I'm wondering if I would be eating free for a few weeks had I not posted it!

        • Ah, OzBargain Poster's regrets😭
Think positively - now is a good time to start a diet😋

        • Don't worry, if you didn't post it someone else would have!

        • +1

Hey but look - you've made the OzB MVP list with your first ever post.

          U famous bruh

  • -3

$69 minimum spend required to use the 'compensation' $20 code? Jokee
Negging because the 'compensation' is not any better than a couple of previous deals.

  • +3

I'm fine with the 2 free meals as we already order enough every week. We all knew it would be cancelled eventually anyway so I was hoping they'd provide a free meal or two compensation - overall it's still a win for me. If you're not planning on ordering anything you haven't really lost out, especially if your order came up basically free with this code.

    • How do you find their meals, cartman? Any you can recommend?

      • +1

I guess it depends on what sort of food you like. We've been getting these now for a couple of months and have been regularly getting Flamin' Chicken and Buffalo Chicken Pizza. The other week I had the Beef Lasagne and that was nearly as good as my wife's homemade version - pretty good.
Overall I find them a good size for a lunch, maybe not so much for my dinner but again, will depend on the individual. If I was a regular visitor to my GP they'd probably tell me I shouldn't be eating so much anyway!

        • Thanks!

  • I am utterly disappointed. No thanks to the "2 FREE meals"

  • +1

Discount instead of free meals? No way!
$10 for a microwave food? No way!

  • We did it, Fam. We went VIRAL

It doesn't feel worth it for the 2 free meals as I save $20 but there is $20 delivery for Perth Metro :|

  • Seemed like a great deal but I too got an email stating they have cancelled my order as the code was for competition winners only which went viral. In lieu of the code, they offered 2 free meals however minimum $69 spend applies, that's disappointing.

  • +3

we should all do a bulk closure of our accounts and see who's laughing then…

    • +1

What difference would that make? It's not like most of us would actually order anything anyway right?
If anything it'll help them trim down useless accounts. :)

      • By offering the 2 meals, it will automatically trim down useless accounts to those willing to pay to try. Mine is one of those useless accounts.

      • +4

cos they dont know that…now they have 10,000s of accounts they can spam, it's worth a lot of money to the marketing department

        • You mean you didn't untick the "Subscribe to our newsletter" box at checkout?

        • +4

They have ur email, phone number, address. LMAO, just wondering if they would sell your personal information to other companies

        • -1

@tydd1231: What makes you think they would?

    • +1

I'm sure they will really miss the people (like me) who only joined for free meals.

  • +13

I think it was a pretty decent response, good humour in the email, couple of free meals for those who genuinely want to try the service (which I recommend having used it before). You'd have to be a real knob to neg them for this.

    • -1

I'd rather have them call me up say 'F U but you get your free meals' instead of a $20 voucher and a 'humerous' email. If you think that email is worth $69.95 then I can send you an hourly humerous email for $69.95/email.
