      • Seriously? eBay max is like 20% if lucky . But of course cheaper than brick stores.

  • Ugh, I really want to take advantage of this to buy a Switch, but don't have an AMEX card, and don't know anything about which card to sign up for/if I'd be approved/whether it would work…

  • How would it work with using multiple cards?

If I am wanting to use 3x cards to get a discount on something, would the spend on EACH card need to be over $400?

    • +1

Yes need to spend $400 on each card to get the rebate on each. Maybe the gift card option might work if your item is between $800 and $1200 (and you're happy to have $ left over on a gift card)

    • +1

      Yes

If anyone is interested in this deal but does not have access to this offer, feel free to PM me.

    • Sorry I cannot PM you but I really need your help if you happen to live in Melbourne :)

      • Have you turned on private messaging?

I'd be more than happy to help.

        • +1

I just created my account today so it didn't allow me to PM you. But thanks anyway, I had a friend that helped me :)

  • Sweet!

  • Can someone confirm whether HN sells Apple watch series 3 GPS + Cellular? They only have GPS online.

  • Anyone find it weird how they haven't put gift card exclusions in the T&C this time round?

    • It's because they will still end up getting their money if you purchase a gift card. The original exclusion clause was ridiculous.

    • +1

They did put it….It's in the TC link when you click into it

      • Oh I see now, it's not in the AMEX page exclusions but the full blown T&C document. Cheers

Although that doesn't list all the same exclusions on the AMEX page, maybe an old T&C doc from previous deals, or just a generic one?

  • Just bought a GC of $400 and received the email saying thanks for using the offer and eligible for $100 cash back.

Hopefully they won't find out later on I buy GC and retract the cash back .

Will get back to you guys if I see the $100 in my bank statement onLine. I doubt they will be able to take back $100 after it goes into my bank statement. Hopefully it appears in 5 days not 90.

    • Did you buy it online or in store?

      • +1

In store at Harvey Norman computer electrical department

        • Could we have the store location, please.

Can you get Coles gift cards?

    • +2

$400 seems a bit steep for a Game Cube. 😲

    • same - they didn't last time

  • Is there a manual link to register? Would bank issued AMEX be eligible?

    • Should be. My NAB Amex registered okay. Previous post says commbank Amex okay too.

I haven't used Nab Amex yet though. David Jones Amex works fine . Tried

    • Look at the post by PECK 3-4 lines above. It worked for my CBA and Westpac Amex.

      • Got it, thank you~

It says telstra, but I hope can be unlocked :-)

      T&Cs:
Excludes purchases of AEG, Apple, Asko, De Dietrich, Elica, Fagor, Falcon, Gaggenau, Miele, NEFF and St George products.

      • Err.. my bad, did not read conditions :-(

Still not too bad price for SE.

        • +1

Please let us know if you received cashback.

      • As per all the comments and countless reports, although technically excluded there hasn't been a case yet of cash back being rejected (touch wood).

        • Confirming $100 return on my card :-)

    • We can both celebrate when they get delivered. It says under review for me and we can unlock them.

Everyone says unlock is free, but you never know.

      • Yep, unlock looks free.

        Mine says same:

If your transaction meets the offer terms, your $100.00 credit should appear on your statement within 5 business days (however it can take up to 90 days from the offer end date).

        and

Excludes purchases of AEG, Apple, Asko, De Dietrich, Elica, Fagor, Falcon, Gaggenau, Miele, NEFF and St George products.

        • Mine is on backorder.

      • Confirming $100 return on my card :-)

        • None for me. Then again I only got the invoice now due to the backorder. 🤞

    • Nevermind. Me dumb. Forgot that the shipping counts towards the cost.

      • Delivery would do, but also added some small thing for Christmas present (Philips EasyShine Ionic Styling Brush).

      • Wow great! Thank you!

      • mind if I ask which store?

      • @melay0326
        which store has it?

    • I did order one in store, they will call me once they get stock

      • I ordered my iphone 7 plus last year in October and they fulfilled it in Jan 2017. took about 3 months for them.

    • I pre-ordered mine from store.
Friday called up they told me no preorder was fulfilled.
but they received some for optus contracts.
Monday still no call, looks like apple trying to make everyone go direct.

Thanks OP! Was waiting for another 20% sale at Bing Lee to get the Fetch mighty (rrp=$400). This saves me even more!

  • No AMEX card and I don't think I can apply for one now to get this offer.

  • thanks
might save me a few bucks on a couch purchase

Just got 7 x $500 Visa pay gift cards at HN Sunshine VIC.
Each card cost $5.95 each but can use anywhere Visa is accepted as opposed to just a HN.
The available Visa denominations that I could see were $25, $300 and $500. I could not get a $1000 one which was my preference.

    • Are those online only?

      • I would go physically there as online can be revoked.

    • Do you get it at the cash register? Can you get the $500 and then load $400 onto it? (So $905.95 for $200 back split over 2 cards.)

Or it doesn't work like that?

      • +2

I was tempted to be a tightass and spread it across multiple payments of $400 + $100 multiple times but I had 7 cards and would have annoyed the nice girl who served me so I decided to just put $500 on each Amex.
At best I might save $5.95.

        • I'm with you, would be good to just pull if off, let's not screw it up by trying to save $5.95. :)

    • Hi Daniel,

is this Visa pay gift card , a physical card ? or its similar to vpay ? vpay has no card.

      • Vpay is max $300

Not vpay - The cards are $500 (some do $1000).

        • thank you - not all HN have Visa pay gift card.
my local HN only have vpay :(

        • @bbqwer: Yeah. get two vpay at $600 + fees still worth it imo.

      • They are called Prepaid Visa Gift Cards and they cost $5.95 each. Not sure what the vPay one is but I assumed that it was the same thing but I might be wrong.

        • sorry I am confused…. can you load whatever amount into the card or the amount has been preset on the package?

        • @easoweno: Limited Preset as defined by Visa. In this case I think you had a choice of $25, $300 and $500. In some places, OZBargainers have heard of a $1000 limit but not in my case this afternoon.

        • @danielh: Thanks so much. Hopefully I get to go tomorrow morning! It has a physical card right?

        • @easoweno: HN Sunshine (and I assumed the others as well) are closed tomorrow in VIC. Of course if you are not in a Horse loving state then you should be fine. :-)

        • @danielh: why are they closed tomorrow? National holiday I am not aware of?

        • @easoweno:

          Melbourne Cup

        • @T-man: ahhhh I see.. sydney should not close I think, I will check.

        • @danielh:

Serious? No Money going to Harvey tomorrow? !All gone to TAB?!

    • Thanks

    • Can you let me know when you get the credit? Thanks.

      • +1

I can confirm I got the credit of $100 for all 7 cards.
For the record, this was credit for purchasing 7 x $500 Prepaid Visa Physical Gift Cards (plus $5.95 per card) at HN Sunshine VIC.

    • Is buying a gift card considered a cash advance on amex though?

      • No

  • will HN price match with kogan/dick smith?

    • As long as it's Aussie stock and they would probably include shipping cost in the price

      • not true.. i just tried asking for price match but it has to be 100kms from your area

        • +1

Depends on the sales person you deal with

  • Does anyone know if I can purchase something then arrange delivery 3 months later? I'm building a house and it won't be done until around Feb/March.

    • they will but you have to pay for storage fee

    • If it's carpet they couldn't care less. I've got rolls of the stuff sitting in their warehouse for 6 months now, been advised some people have theirs in there for years.

  • Shame that Apples are excluded :( Hope there will be some great deals.

    • I thought Gift card is the whole point for buying apple or excluded items

Don't be so naive….Get in the loopholes

      • Hi mate, thanks, just to confirm, AMEX does not exclude the buy of Gift Card in this promos at all? Am I correct? Doesn't matter if its a VISA or HN cards?

        • Term and condition says no gift card or visa gift card allowed for promotion. But past experience from others has been successfully claiming the cash back. Myself also waiting for the cash back too.

Register first. If mine is successful, will report back and you should be fine to go ahead
