Yep they are, I've heard of great reports from thinkofus. My-phonez are known for price jacking but otherwise I believe they're reputable.

        • That Note 8 price is a great deal if it works tomorrow. Stock is sourced from around the world according to quality, value and availability and sent from our warehouses in Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, the UK and USA direct to the end user through fast and reliable courier services that offer live tracking. - From thinkofus store.

Hm, i'm just a bit worried, even though seeing their positive reviews etc. Have you bought from them before doweyy?

        • +1

          @MysticalWok:

I personally haven't bought from them before unfortunately, but I've noticed that if they specifically say that it's AU stock then that's what it is. I bought from myMobile who have similar practices but they specify Aus stock and HK stock. Sorry that I can't overcome your worries, but from other deals I've posted I've had a few reports about people getting fast shipping and reliability :)

        • @doweyy: Ah okay, no problem :) But yeah, guess i'll give it a go tomorrow hopefully it won't be out of stock :P And from the positive feedback of the deals you posted from them, gives me a good reassurance that'll it be fine. So thank you for your help! Much appreciated :)

        • @MysticalWok:

Not a problem! Might be worth just chucking in an offer for $1 under the listed price, I think if they accept the offer then you can wait until tomorrow to pay, securing this price :) But I'm not 100% certain on it, someone just mentioned it below.

        • @MysticalWok: check the negative comments from my-phonez, they sell grey import as Australian stock.

        • Reputable? I ordered a 'brand new' phone from them and they sent me a device that had clearly been used, that was out of Apple's warranty, and had been packaged (poorly) to make it appear 'brand new'. I would avoid my-phonez like the plague.

        • @MysticalWok:

Seems like prices haven’t been jacked but the note 8 I listed has been taken down/ OOS. Use this link at 10am :)

    • +1

How do you buy now and use code tomorrow?

      • Pretty sure you can just press "Buy It Now" and then it'll ask you to commit to buy, but you can pay later.

Oh wait scrap that… Seems like it just sends me to a Cart screen.. My bad.

Might have to just buy at 10am if they haven't jacked.

  • +7

Xbox one X for $554.36 from the Gamesmen providing they dont jack it.

    • Yep, that's what I'm looking at. Awesome price, $100 off RRP.

I was just about to go out to JB Hi Fi and put down a preorder, too. I think I'll wait and see what it looks like tomorrow.

      • Someone might be able to confirm if we add it to cart now it may be available at that price tomorrow.

EB are giving $150 trade in on my original xbox which will bring this down to $400 for me. Tempting.

        • $150 isn't too bad for the original Xbox. I'm going to be selling off my 2TB Xbox One S so I'm going to go private. Pretty sure EBGames would give me only about $200 for that, could get closer to $300 privately.

        • @LuthLexor: Yeah most probably. I dont mind as I have a few titles for the switch coming out that I would take the credit for.

        • 650 - 150 = 500 :P

        • @LuthLexor: EB are offering $300 off if you trade in a 1tb xbox, I have the 500gb so the deal is crap. :(

        • @LuthLexor: EB is actually giving $250 for a 500gb One S + any 3 XBOne games. But I still think I will get a better price selling privately, plus can take advantage of a console bundle/deal instead of paying the full $650 RRP..

    • $549 delivered if you have Amex!

    • Its already jacked.. RRP is $649… they are listing it at $692..

      • I agree, though including delivery at $550, its still a deal.

        • True.. $100 off is still good.

      • It's been that price for a long time though. I've had my eye on it.

    • Shhhhhhhh! I might jump on it. I don’t think they’ll increase the price - it’s already $692.

  • +2

Good timing. I was bleeding about not being able to buy a switch with the Amex promo.

    • +2

I thought i was alone haha

  • +1

I came here just for the price jacking comments :O

    eBay's spooked, Amazons coming

    • +4

      Middle of November, highly likely!

      • +11

I'm sure as hell going to use eBay less if Amazon can offer similar items at cheaper prices. Especially with Amazon's support.
They're going to take away business from eBay guaranteed.

eBay seems to have moved away a lot from local sellers selling things (like gumtree) and more to another outlet for retailers to sell things. I guess this could be one of the reasons as to why eBay acquired Gumtree in the first place.

      • +6

Amazon has a marketplace too hence is in direct competition with eBay.

      • Letrico, are you joking?
They're in direct competition. With ebay trying to emulate Amazon.

      • -2

…… I gave up replying to the other comments and just gonna drop it here and repeat my point. eBay is marketplace, Amazon is not. Amazon could even potentially setup store on eBay because they are a business themselves. This will have almost negligible impact to eBay because eBay simply does not sell anything, businesses using eBay does. That being said, Amazon have their marketplace which CAN compete with eBay BUT it will not. It will just be another competing marketplace which will impact nothing because businesses/users will list their item on eBay and Amazon with nothing to lose.

You can easily google and check what is the fee for using the amazon marketplace vs ebay which I sincerely doubt any of you bother checking and just be uninformative as ever and click downvote without knowledge.

      • Amazon also has a full filled by merchant meaning the business model could be the same as eBay seller if they wanted it.

Source: I sell on bother eBay and Amazon and I love how Amazon can deliver your product within 1 hour. Ebays "vallet" to compete with it = massive LMAO

    • Nah, competition is good. eBay are performing well in other Amazon territories (citation needed).

      :)

Amazon could just swallow eBay and buy them out.

      • +1

I don't think many are suggesting Ebay is going away, just that they'll likely lose significant market share.

  • +1

Is it confirmed that you can buy a product and then pay when the deal is active for the discount? Or do you have to wait and buy during the deal period.

    • +1

You can also submit a 'best offer' the day before discount codes, if/when they are approved, pay when the discount is valid.

      • +1

A lot of sellers do not have “best offer” option.

    • +1

You can only do it if the seller does not require immediate payment.

      • Thanks appreciate the help!

  • +4

    Price jacking in progress…..

  • +2

    No ebgames?

  • the Amazon effect

    • When is amazon coming? still didnt get any solid dates yet

      • Some says before black Friday, but who knows

    • +2

Are you negging because 1 store jacked the price of 1 item you were looking for?
Seems unreasonable given there's a lot of stores and items that haven't been jacked up.

      • +1

        Yet*

      • There were at least more than 10 stores on the last few ebay promos and eBay doesn't do jack $hit…. and this promo is no different

        • Sure - good point, but just because most of the price jacking goes on tech items like phones, doesnt mean there arent deals for others, who buy non millennial stuff LOL

  • No minimum order? OMG!!!!!!!

  • Are there any good laptops with good screens at 1.5k mark?

  • Hey guys bought the dell computer (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/339360) recently but wanting to add another 8gb of RAM.

Any recommendation which one to get with this 20% discount ! ?

    Thanks !

    • Why do you need 16gb of ram ????

  • office-furniture-direct has jacked up prices already

  • Hmmmmm time to buy pc parts for a new build or wait for Christmas?

    • +2

      Wait.

  • Pixel 2!!!

Phone I was looking for went from $470ish to $550.
    Price jacking Ebay retailers.

    • -6

You are still paying $30 less than what you previously would have.

      • +16

        That's not the point.

  • +3

Looking through that whole list, why are there books/paper backs that look like they're obviously worth a few dollars listed for over $1000 each? Is there something shady going on here? It's obviously no mistake as there are heaps of them listed.

  • +2

I'm looking at getting a bluetooth portable speaker for around the $100 mark. It's looking like a toss-up between JBL Flip 4 and Logitech UE Boom 2. Does anyone have thoughts on these or others in that price range?

    • Get the boom. ability to sync with other booms and sound is great. Long Battery too.

  • -4

Wow my -ve voted gone coz of some people can't use their head :/

  • i need 8tb hdd

    • +7

        20% off tomorrow 🤣

        • +10

          I've got 100% off right now :P

  • Let's see if they jack this up tomorrow..

Galaxy Tab S3 AU $779.99 after discount $623.20

    • Yep also after this but the 4g version. buymobileau has got some pretty bad reviews though, but will take a punt anyway providing they don't jack

      • Yep price increased

        AU $789.99 to AU $819.99

        • Are you sure that's not the 4g one? I'm still seeing the non-4g one (black only, silver is $819.99) at 789.99. The 4g one is 819.99, which I just pulled the trigger on
