ASUS Dual OC GTX 1060 6GB - $344 after 20% Discount - Computer Alliance eBay

160
PREZZY

Cheapest ASUS Dual OC 1060 6GB I've found so far at $343.2 after the PREZZY discount ($429 beforehand)

Next cheapest tends to be around $449 which is about $360 after discount, so this is roughly $16 cheaper. Unlike the other deals, this comes from an Aussie computer store and has 3 year warranty so I assume they're more trustworthy?

I've done a huge amount of research on this card in the past few days compared to MSI Gaming X, it has roughly the same performance but the key difference is that the Dual OC uses moderately less power but runs hotter (presumably because MSI puts the power into cooling) and the Dual OC costs quite a bit less (Cheapest MSI Gaming X has been $380 after discount, but recently ran out of stock so you're looking at $400).

  • I recent got a 34 inch 1440p monitor. Would this card be able to drive AAA games to 100hz? Or would I need a 1070 or 1080?

Maybe at low- low medium settings

No, you need a 1070 at that Resolution and refresh rate.
Maybe wait for the 1070TI that should see other 1080 and 1070 cards drop in price.

    • Try 1080 or 1080ti. Especially if he hopes to get anywhere near 100fps, got a monitor like that myself, had a 1080 too.

  • tempted to pick this up just to drop in my old Q6600 machine that my gf uses… anybody want to talk me out of it?

  • Is this worth it, or should i wait for black Friday?

    • +1

I actually considered that too; I've heard that black friday and cyber monday typically only features peripherals sales so I took the gamble here. To be honest, I don't really see this particular 1060 dropping below this, but if you're looking for another card/model then you might want to wait until then
