190

Hi Everyone

Earn 3,000 Qantas Points with $250 or more spent at David Jones before 10 December 2017.

This post is probably more about the potential for further offers with the Mastercard / QFF partnership.

All credit to an article by Matt Moffitt on Point Hacks, you can now link your QFF Membership and Mastercard to receive special bonus point offers. This is open to Mastercard Credit and Mastercard Debit cards. The link in this post is to the signup page. After signing up you’ll be sent an email with your first round of offers within a week (this may or may not include this particular DJs offer).

The program is still currently in beta and is limited to the first 300,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer members to register. Then it will officially be open to all other members starting April 2018.

From the website:

Link any Australian debit or credit Mastercard®
To participate you must have an Australian debit or credit Mastercard® card. All you need to do to register for the program is link your Mastercard® card to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account. This is done through a secure Mastercard® site and details are stored by Mastercard® not Qantas.

Log into your Frequent Flyer account at mycardoffers.qantasmall.com and check your details
Whether you are out and about or at home you can login from any device and see your weekly My Card Offers.

Make sure you are opted in to receive’ Exclusive Offer’ emails from Qantas Frequent Flyer and that all your contact details are up to date.

Activate the offers you like
Check out the available offers and activate the ones that interest you. Once you have activated an offer, shop at the relevant retailer within the dates specified, using your linked Mastercard® cards.

Shop with your linked Mastercard® and watch the points fly in
Remember to pay with your linked Mastercard® cards when you shop and we’ll automatically credit the Qantas Points to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account.

Up until 31 December 2017, you can join QFF for free through the following link: https://www.qantaspoints.com/join-now?code=FAMILYFREE
The usual cost of membership is $89.50 but there are always ways to avoid paying the fee.

For more information please visit the website or the Point Hacks article linked above.

Thanks

  • Low entry and also low spend requirements are good but I don't think 3000 qff points is worth another enquiry on the credit history..

It's not a new credit card. It uses your existing debit or credit cards.

    • Thanks spiff but as far as I understand, this is simply linking your Mastercard to your QFF account. There should be no impact to your credit history. This is much like the AMEX Offers but instead of receiving $ incentive, it is points incentive.

      • Sorry my bad! Upvoted.

for those that dont go to DJ, what can you buy thats easily convertable to other produxts eg visa gift cards ?

    • +2

My experience from the DJ's AmEx statement credit deals are that they only sell DJs gift cards. Had to do it from the service desk as well which was a pain.

Myer sell all kinds of gift cards and can be bought at most registers. I don't bother with DJs.

  • For some reason you are required to enter your full credit card number, expiration date and CVC in order to sign up for these potential 'reward offers'.

    No thanks.

They need to spend your money to be able to give you points.

    • I agree, Though it's a partnership with MasterCard, so I presume it's safe

  • Could always buy something, get points and return if you are feeling really tight.
