      • my Kogan SIM arrived, unlike my Belong SIM

        • Lol where is this Belong?
No show too at my place.

        • @tempura:

          Mine's just arrived!

        • @SlickMick: yeah same .. arrived yesterday but don't think am going to activate it … it doesn't sound free to me .. it is not straight forward.

  • Silly question perhaps but can I stick this in my galaxy tab in order to use simply and and solely as a hotspot, no phone calls, just need data like this for a holiday

    • Perfect for your purpose, i actually used it the same way with my iPad!

  • +2

    still available

  • what happens after 30 days? does it auto renew at full cost or we can just throw out the sim?

    • if you didn't select "auto recharge" when activated you can throw it out after expiration. If "auto recharge" was selected I presume it would be normal price on renewal.

  • It's stuffed up on my porting. Ported my number out to Amaysim on 28 Dec, then ported it back on the same day, rejected twice. Called helpline, waited 30 mins for someone to escalate the case, next day, they called back to say you couldn't port out then port back on the same day, need wait for 72 hours, may be BS, but what can I do? They promised the porting was in process, it should be done within 72 hours, which is a lie.

Now more than 72 hours passed, still not able to port back the number, called again, now they told me I need to wait for another 24 hours, so someone could investigate then call me back. Worst porting experience ever.

No more Kogan Mobile for me.

  • Does anyone know if we can use this on a tablet?

  • I just got this sim.

interesting to see that I've received 2 SIM packs. I only ordered one then paid 4.90.

am I missing some other document with voucher code instead?

I am trying to activate the sim but IT only showing $49.90 price option.

    • they always send an extra SIM card just in case. as long as you applied the voucher code successfully, just keep going & you should be fine.

      • thank you, I just found the email form KOGAN with the code.

email got filtered to SPAM folder.

        Thanks.

        kind regards

How easy is it to port your sim from Telstra to Kogan?

    • easy. Took about 3 hours for me.

  • For continuous use of this type of deal, you just need a port bridge SIM (like a Voda $2 one) to make you appear new customer every month and hop back onto another 23GB Unlimited T&T Kogan deal. Brilliant!! Lots of other deals with Amaysim etc. Im saving my family of 5 well over $1000/year in mobile charges using this method.

  • Anybody know when is the latest activation date?

    • +1

"Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEDT on 31/01/2018. Activation or recharge must be made before the voucher expiry date."

  • First time I have looked at activating a pre-paid plan. How long does it typically take for the SIM to arrive assuming a metro area? If it takes too long, is it possible to buy a $2 SIM in a store and then use the code they email you on activation?

    • I think you can get any Kogan SIM & activate it with the emailed code. Took about 3-4 business days for SIM to arrive.

      • Thanks for the quick response. I also assume that if I don't choose auto top-up I can purchase a recharge for, say, their Small plan (assuming no other promo etc) so I reduce my monthly charge to the $16.90?

  • If anybody's considering getting this, would you mind buying mine instead? I'll get the code to you immediately upon payment and the 2 sims in the post same day. Make me an offer on this with 3 Vodafone $40 12.5G sims (1 very slightly used: at 3.31Mbps in Gladstone I can rarely load a webpage before it times out). I can even accept creditcard and I won't charge you a surcharge.

Here's a warning nobody gave me before purchase: check the Vodafone coverage map before purchase. It seems to me you must be a city dweller to use Vodafone.

I was about to activate my Kogan sim (ditching the Vodafone), when they made be tick that I've checked coverage. Glad I did!

  • How often do these sales go on?

I was thinking of getting a $50 (or $30 Kogan gift card if I can find it) Kogan gift card to use over a year to buy these. I would buy the Kogan gift card with a Woolworths gift card at 7% off.

  • Does anyone in Newcastle have a spare Kogan SIM card they would like to get rid of? Ordered this 2 days ago and waiting for my SIM to arrive but would like to activate today if possible as my current plan has run out of data. Thanks.

  • does your phone number get cancelled after the 30 days?

    How does it work?

    • Your credit expires after 30 days
Your service will stop working after another ~30 days

    • ''If you do not recharge your account after your plan expires, you will still be able to receive incoming calls and text messages for 20 days, and make calls to emergency services for 90 days.
Please note: Your mobile phone number will be reserved for 90 days past plan expiry. If you do not recharge within 90 days, you will not be able to keep your existing mobile phone number, and your account will be deactivated. Once your mobile number is lost Kogan Mobile is unable to retrieve it for you.''

  • one more question,

how long does the shipping take to melbourne cbd?

im worried if its too slow, i'll miss the last activation date on 31/1/18

    • Shouldn't take more than a week so will be before 31/01/18. Need not worry.

    • you should get it by then..

      worst case you lose $4.90

    • Mine was shipped on the 10th and still not received, Bris metro…

  • This doesn't seem to be out of stock now as i just bought one. But i did a smart thing and i selected to pay the extra $5.99 for express delivery. Standard delivery would take too long to arrive.

The expiry date has been moved back. "Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEDT on 15/02/2018"

      • How do you know it has been moved back versus they've started another round of promo offers?
It seems like this promo comes around quite often actually.

        • +1

Because it shows so at the bottom of the voucher that is getting emailed today after you buy it. Expiry 15/02/2018 at 11:59pm AEST.

        • @hollykryten:

Sorry from the way Frydog had posted it I thought they were trying to say the expiry date of the already sold vouchers had been extended. Not that the sale had been extended.

I'm still not sure whether my voucher will expire at the end of the month or not anymore now.

        • @Scaregdearimasu:

I'm not sure about that. You would have to ring up Kogan and ask them.

      • Yeah my voucher i got today shows the same expiry date.

      • The voucher i got says 11:59pm AEST, not AEDT. I wonder if it's because i live in Queensland.

  • Has anyone else tried and is able to confirm the supposed "PSA" on page 1 stating that this can be used as a recharge?

    • +1

There was no other responses that it worked for them so i would have to say no it doesn't work.

  • Looks like the $4.90 deal is no more?

    • +1

That deal expired around mid night last night.

      • No similar deals. I wonder if they will offer another soon or is that the end of the rainbow?
Only special I can see is $7.90 for 32gb but only for first recharge. Ends 28/2.
It looks like this one can be activated in the same way as the $4.90 deal?

  • +1

I have a voucher code, and 2 SIMS if needed, plus I think 2 Vodafone sims from another deal. (Turns out Vodafone doesn't have reception anywhere I go!)
PM me your details if you want any of that.
