Xiaomi Mi Smart WiFi Remote Control Multi-functional Gateway - $19.99 USD (~$26 AUD) @ GearBest

380
MKCGatewayCyberMondayGB64oysbank

So I asked the GB Rep for a good boxing day deal (on boxing day) to help the people out who have been buying Xiaomi smart home products from Ozbargain of late,

Unfortunately the Rep couldn't give a better deal and came back to me late so its more expensive than it has been in the past but cheaper than its current normal price through GB.

looks like a revived code as its clearly from a Cyber Monday deal in the past… Anywho, if you need one get in quick as its limited.

Limited to first 50 stock,1 times per account,HK,AU,NZ,MY,SG,MO,TW only

    Thanks Got one.

  • Is it generation 2?

    • It has internet radio so should be gen 2. But the internet radio stations are limited to mainly China.

  • Expired.

    • Just worked for me. Did you log in?

    • could it be that you used that code before in a previous deal?

  • thanks brought one

    • +4

      Where to?

      • +1

        ozzie land

  • Anyone else bought this Xiaomi Mi network stuff then found it all too nervewracking and just put it back in the box?

    • +1

Did you? I just bought these things :D.

    • +1

I'll take it off your hands for a nomimal fee :)

    • +2

yes, put it back into the box, have taken with me on holidays incase it rains and we are stuck indoors ……. better than boardgames i guess.

also brought the google home mini ….. incase it rains and we got the xiaomi smart home up and running.

    • +2

I bought a kit and got it all going easily, it's great. It integrated with my rgb Yeelight too.

Most recent use as a fancy motion activated nightlight when we had visitors.

The Automation scripts are very easy to set up with the Android phone app.

  • +2

    What does it do?

    • -5

      It's a Smoke Detector

    • +9

Don't listen to Tidy. It isn't one.

The gateway is basically a hub for all smart xiaomi smart appliances. The simplest way to think of it is as a router for xiaomi smart products. You can then connect all the products and get an action from any of the devices from any input you make (i.e. If you pass by a body sensor turn the light on, when you click this xiaomi light switch turn on the lights or start the xiaomi vacuum cleaner). Most of the Xiaomi smart appliances don't work without having this gateway/hub.

      • +2

Thanks for the detailed reply Jared.

      • I've got Xiaomi Wi-Fi sockets which seem work without this atm (I remember there's two versions, ones that depend on a gateway and ones that don't?) - I'm about to receive some Yee light strips & smart bulbs, do I need to purchase this gateway or will I be fine without it?

        • +1

I found the Zigbee enabled devices need this gateway to work.
I have a Yeelight that work without it though as it’s not a Zigbee intergrated device

        • +1

Only Xiaomi ZigBee devices need this. The light strip and smart bulbs won't need this as they are WiFi based.

As for the socket, yes there is a wifi and a ZigBee version and only the ZigBee version will need the gateway.

        • @zorrt: Thanks for the info! Resisted another Xiaomi impulse buy, haha!

  • Do I need this to control Xiaomi Aqara Temperature module with homebridge / hassio / google home ?? Planning to buy them.. New to Xiaomi home automation

    • Yes thwy all need the gateway which talks to hassio

      • Thanks.. So will have to buy this..

FIrst time using gearbest and getting

The Code you entered has expired.

Code for single unit price only; VIP Price, Special Offer or Group Deal all exempt.

        • Maybe it's sold out already.

        • @jared444: Bah.. will wait for new deal and for aqara

        • @its: you might be able to find a code for the 5-in-1 gateway kit

    • Yes you do. If you have a smart things hub I don't think you do though as smart things hub has Zigbee built in (Let me know if I'm wrong)

  • damn been after one of these for ages.

    missed out again

    first world problems

        • Sweet ordered one. That is for the code

      • Worked for me too, thanks! Now I just need to wait for some of the sensors to go on sale again otherwise it's not much use on it's own! lol

  • +4

so in case anyone else is after one the code from the previous deal still works

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/338030

  • Is it a better deal/ is there a saving in grabbing one of the bundle packs, or just this separately and add the bits you want. (assuming you need all the bits in the bundle.)

    • If you get them when they are on the cheap through good Ozbargain deals then it’s cheaper individually.

  • can i control my stuff via voice by this thing?

    • No you’ll need something like a google assistant/home/mini to use voice

  • 50 only?

    • Yep.
The rep could only do 50 at this price but has said they will post a deal if they can beat the price

  • Hi all, how loud is the alarm for this thing?

    • Not sure mate, getting my first one within the month

    • How are DD4 to deal with re speed and reliability ?

      • Not sure, but just made a few purchases thru them lately. Will give an update when it arrives

Both codes have expired - the listed price is now AU$31.92 and if you try use either expired code it jumps to $40+

Not for the amount of sensors I have! I took 8. I have a lot of rooms. Call me Broden.

          • @MorriJ: I have 2 gate ways in two totally different addresses controlling 21 devices and increasing monthly.

    • No matter how many times I see these come up, I still have no idea what they are used for.

      • I actually bought one and now figuring out the same :)

        • Control all the devices that Mi sell seperately, window sensors, humidity, temperature, ir sensors, IFTT stuff

        • @MorriJ: thanks mate, love the cool night lamp feature nevertheless. Got the door and window sensor too, will try to setup today and see how that goes.

        • @MorriJ:
Does it have a speaker in it too?

        • @Gazz: It sure does and its loud.

        • @MorriJ:

Can you play music etc through it or is it just for the doorbell function?

      • If anyone figures it out please do explain the mystery… +1 to NFI

      • just buy a few, put them round the house your friends with think you're really smart

    • Does anyone know how the ring function works? Is there an actual button serve as the door beel that comes with this

      • This is just the unit, plug it into the wall and control units.

Want a door bell? Use the WXKG01LM push button, stick at front of house, but set it up as a bell, not for alarm activation/deactivation.

    • Funny that the West Australian had an article about smart home run by AI. Time to invest and investigate for me.

    • Anyone seen any good deals on sensors?

    • It gonna be massively popular if Mi products gonna work with Google Home. Wish it would in near future.

      • Mi Lights work with GH.

      • Xiaomi Yeelights directly integrate with Google Home. Other Xiaomi lights (e.g. Xiaomi Phillips) integrate through middleware such as Home Assistant.

    • Expired for me :(

    • The Code you entered has expired.

      how about another code yo!!

  • Unfortunately all codes expired:

MKCGateway, CyberMondayGB64, oysbank don't work, new code wanted please.
