Looking for a Nice 1080p monitor for my birthday. Budget is up to $175

My budget for this new monitor is up to $175- but the lower the better.
I'm going to be using the monitor for
• Gaming. Csgo, Pubg, Fallout new Vegas, gta 5 etc etc.
• YouTube/Netflix.
• Checking emails.
• School work.
I'm thinking of one of these:

Which one of the above should I choose? Or do you have a recommendation? Also I need it before the 14th of January so local WA pick up only.

  • What's your computer specs? higher refresh rate at 144hz+ might benefit you seeing you've listed FPS games

    • I3 7100
1060 3/6gb (getting it for birthday)
      8gbs of ram

  • If you have a GTX 1060 that puts you in the category for high FPS 1080p. I use a 144hz Korean offbrand monitor called the X-Star DP2414 LED, from eBay "Dream-Seller" that specializes in cheap Korean LCD's.

But you won't get them by the 14th of January.

If you can't get 144hz, I recommend just grabbing a 75hz Viewsonic or AOC from MSY.

    • Yeah I'm getting a 1060 3/6gb and also a monitor. I guess I could wait for the Korean monitor, How Long have you had yours for?

      • 8 Months and counting.

If you want to read about what Korean monitors are, see
        http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2404455

It's a long read, but what you should know is that korean monitors basically are using rejected panels that didn't quite make the cut, and now live on as "cheap" alternatives. So there is a slightly higher risk of dead pixels or stuck pixels.

People take the gamble anyway, and my current screen has about 4 stuck pixels clustered together in a line (very, very minor issue). It doesn't really bother me since the pixels are red and I can't see it when I'm gaming.

        • Oh ok will give it a read.
Can you send a link to the one you recommended? Or is there any super cheap?

        • @Lockster:

Might be better off asking in reddit or whirlpool.

I haven't been 'monitoring' the site for deals lately so have no clue on what's going on

        • @scrimshaw: k all good cheers

  • Go for 144hz, if you have any luck you might be able to pick up an XL2411 or similar from Gumtree for close to your budget.

  • Happy Birthday

    • Thank you very much!
