      • They can do IPoE for $5/month. No idea why they have to charge for it coz that technique is quite simple to implement, even easier than PPPoE (I made it work for my company. We only do NBN in Toowoomba). I bet they have to outsource it to someone who knows how to do it.

  • Just need to say the full name of the referrer I guess.

Got this connected just to see how it went. Only went for the 25 speed plan. Connected in 2 days and working at full speed, thanks Buzz!

If they fail to provide the service, ill cancel it, not really much risk here.

Activated on Sunday which I wasn't expecting… up and running already. 47/18 on a 50/20 service. GREAT start. Fingers crossed.

    • Please report back in a month or so. While these guys give me the sh#ts, I am keen to see if they can improve their service.

lol surely you wouldn't go back? No self respecting person would after spewing so much hatred about them.

        • +1

Dont worry ZERO chance of me going back personally!!

But lots of people intrested in on OZB no doubt due to their pricing so thought it may be useful for others to hear back more recent user experiences. If the feedback is good i will also stop sh#tting on them everytime they post!

Activated yesterday, they still use PPPoe for NBN. Getting a speed of 30/12 on 50/20.. Not liking it

      • Compared to what?

        • Compared to other provider like MyRepublic and AussieBroadband.

        • +1

@creeps_bay: Yes but I am asking…what were you getting with those other providers that you aren't with Buzz?

        • @Jonesy7707: with MyRepublic, I was getting something between 90-95% of the plan.
And with Aussie Broadband it was around 85% - 90% of the plan.

      • How is PPoE impacting on your user experience? How is 30/12 impacting on your user experience?

        • PPPoE takes a while to connect after restart, not that I plan to do it often, but just a FYI.

30/12 does impact the experience when you have two devices streaming, and at times it's lower than 30/12, especially during peak hour.

        You're only paying $30….

        • Your Point?

You buy a product at 50% off, do you expect to receive with half of it's content?

Great start for me too, happy so far

  • Signed up with nbn not yet availabile so I might be able to get this price when it does. Insisting on one month payment up front or lose out on discount. Forget that.

    • they can't auto-charge / over-charge you if you pay 1st month upfront by paypal right ?

      • They kept sending reminders to pay the first months invoice and if I didn’t pay it ASAP I’d no longer be eligible for the discounted rate and my membership would be canceled, which appears to have happened. Not the right way to go about things if they want me to join once nbn is available.

Well, I am finally connected. After plenty of emails, phone calls, modem resets and waiting an extra 7 days…we got there in the end.

I mentioned it earlier but the one thing I can't fault is how great the customer service has been throughout and that's with me being a real PITA despite the issue seemingly being a Vocus error and nothing to do with Buzz.

From a performance perspective my connection is basically on par with what I was getting through Telecube, although I think I may be on a stability profile by default so maybe we can get a bit extra out of it once the performance profile is in place. I know it's only been a few hours but so far, it's $39 well spent and a $30 saving over my previous monthly spend.
