Difference between Kindle eReaders - Need help

Hi All
I am looking to buy a eReader but confused with readers advertised as same names but different prices

Anyone can give an idea of difference between

Kindle paper white advertised for $149 in Kogan and paper white 3 advertised for $189 in same kogan?

it is 159 in Amazon but dont see Paper white 3 advertised in amazon

Just being cautious not to buy some old version of reader

specifically looking for difference between these 2 listings

https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/amazon-kindle-paperwhite-6-4gb-… - $149

https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kindle-ereader-paperwhite-3-wi-… - $187

Read the features of each, there's no need to avoid an older version of the reader, if it does the same stuff, or if the newer one does stuff you don't care about. I have a very old one (maybe the first or second to be released) and the only differences I see between it and the newer ones is I have to press a button to turn pages (I think this is better since if I brush the screen with my hand accidentally I could lose my place), and there's no backlight (reading in the dark probably hurts your eyes anyway).

  • The Paperwhite 3 has a higher resolution and a different font which apparently makes it easier to read.
I got given a Voyage for my birthday last year, which is also a very good option, but a fair bit more expensive.

Or treat yourself to the waterproof model for just $389.

  • There are ad/sponsored versions of the Paperwhite 3 that are cheaper than the ad free versions. Make sure to buy an ad free one. When not in use it will display attractive wallpapers vs the ad/sponsored ones which display advertisements!
