      • It was about 12 hours - signed up with Telecube FTTN at about 7pm in the evening, and it was up and running the next morning.

Setup fee ($49) is a deal breaker!

  • +1

    Hi Telecube,

Will those on the existing plans be upgraded automatically this month (pro-rata'd?) or next?

Let us know if a support ticket required to change plan?

    • +1

Email support if you want to change.

  • Lets say you sign up for 100/40 Mbps: $60, 100GB

    why offer data packs?
For 10GB is $5 but your next plan up is $65 for 500gb

Why pay extra $5 for 10GB when you offer free plan changes and customers can upgrade to the $65 for 500gb

    Just saying…….

    • +3

      why offer data packs?

Because data packs are profitable, that's why. It costs the RSP literally cents to give you an extra 5 GB of data to use.

That said, the rep has chosen the plan based on price rather than on value, If I worked at Telecube I would have chosen to highlight the $65/mth 500GB XXL plan rather than the paltry 100GB plan.

    • Would you not have to wait until the next billing month for the new plan to kick on though? Whereas the data packs would be instant.

      • If it's anything like Skymesh was, the plan changes are instantaneous (or near to it).

Sorry Telecube, seems the Ozbargain crowd have voted this "not much of a deal"
    Back to the drawing board…

    • The OzBargain crowd have voted it 105 up-votes in half a day.
Back to your drawing board, buddy.

  • +8

I personally would have advertised the 100/40 with 500GB for $65/m.
Most people use more than 100GB on peak and its just $5 more.

    • +2

Yep, good idea .. have changed it now. Thanks.

      • To put it into perspective, aussie broadband is now $90 for 100/40 but no setup fee and double data for 12 months….
They also have their own hardware in all 121 of NBNs POIs meaning they have complete control over their network. I fortunately am on the grandfathered plan of $80 per month for 100/40 500GB.. but would find it hard to justify the new pricing scheme they've just introduced. I see you're pretty active on whirlpool viper :)

        • +1

Lucky you (getting in before the price increases). Though I'm certainly not jealous given I'm now on 100/40 with 500GB for $65/m.
Yea, far too active of late. Work has been a bit quiet recently. :)

  • +6

The setup fee is listed as $33 in the CIS…?

    • +1

      Oops!

  • +1

Telecube have been great to deal with, highly recommended

  • What are the fees for changing from one plan to another?

    • +1

Nevermind. It's free according to the website.

Upgrade or downgrade your plan speed or data allowance for free.

  • I moved onto Telecube at this price a few months ago and they've been excellent. I usually hit 85mbps with occasional dips down to 40mbps - but still, at that price it's pretty amazing.

  • has anyone experience with these guys. Currently I live inner west Melbourne and with aussiebroadband. Thinking of moving across

    • +1

Moved from ABB 9 months ago… No issues, 50/20 connection paying less than I otherwise would have for ABB 25/5, the setup fee has paid for itself inside 6 months and I've enjoyed a faster connection and effectively 3 months free.
Being in Melbourne you should see better results than me being located with their Head Office and main POP.

    • I have been in HFC with Telecube since July last year and have not had any issues, fast and reliable.

  • VOIP bundles? Just had a quick look on mobile and could not see.

    • Telecube started out as a VoIP provider.
From memory they offer free DID, can't comment on their plans as we're Mobile only.

      • Thanks. Found some details on the site, $2.95/month per DID.

        • Use siptalk. Better than direct telecube

        • @TarquinOliverNimrod:

They are the same company and both services are provided on the same hardware.

The difference is the support and features offered on each.

        • @spaceflight: And pricing for VOIP

        • @spaceflight: I chose siptalk as there's no minium fee. Use Lebara mobile plan and home phone just for incoming.

  • If I wanted to move my plan down from XXXL to XXL, can I do that online?

    • You need to email support.

  • +2

Anyone from Perth who is with Telecube? What are the speeds like during peak hours?

    • Kirt from above says it's pretty good

      • Thanks. I wonder if I can preorder this for April.

        • I think these are the new standard prices?

        • @TarquinOliverNimrod:

If that's the case I'll probably just go with ABB and see if the guys have any specials in the future.

        • @nurries: 1tb 100/40 is $90 (was $80 2 months back when I signed up) with the current promotion. Not too competitive

        • @TarquinOliverNimrod:

Yeh, but I get 1 month free so over 2 months it works out cheaper than Telecube. I'll just have to hope a good deal comes up at the end of those 2 months.

        • @nurries: actually 2 months free if you put a referral code in

        • @TarquinOliverNimrod:

Ref codes only give ths referrer a month free AFAIK

        • @nurries: nah it works both ways

        • @TarquinOliverNimrod:

Do you have a ref code? PM me if so.

        • +1

@nurries: I'll send you when I get back

        • @TarquinOliverNimrod:
          No it doesn't.

        • +1

@nurries: according to viper, it doesn't. Not sure.

        • @TarquinOliverNimrod: Yeah it doesn't, it only works for a free month for the referrer.

        • @TarquinOliverNimrod:

I don't think so. A message on Whirlpool said they are working on new offers but the website and backend needs to be sorted first. So they have just published the special deal for the time being.

      • It has been good aside from some packet loss issues the other weekend. Only really noticed it while gaming though.

        • I get that a few times with abb

    • I would like to get an honest assessment of the overall service for Perth - not just peak speeds but variability, and overall stability.

    • +3

      Never drops. 92-95/35-37.

  • Static IP is an extra $5.50/pm. Would it be possible to purchase additional at the same rate of $5.50/pm?

    Thanks

  • -2

One step forward three steps backwards

  • Does anyone know if the tplink Archer vr400 AC1200 will work with telecube fttn nbn?

    • Don't see why not. You just need to configure and use the settings that are given to you by Telecube and you're good to go.

      • yeah i thought it would be the case but have seen on whirlpool not all are compatible for whatever reason.

  • +3

Was about to signup and then realised there was a setup fee, doh! No sale this time.

Remove the setup fee and I'll connect 2 x 100/40 $69 plans with you :)

    • +8

Connect 2 services and I'll waive the setup fee on one of them .. email support if you're interested.

      • Hi rep
Current customers who sign up for the whirlpool special $69 XXL plan, will their invoices continue to be 69 or 65?

        • You can choose which plan you want to go on, there is no $69 XXL plan.

        • @scrimshaw: That link goes to a dead page, I'm not really sure what you are asking I'm sorry. The older offer price was the same as this one though as far as I can recall, $69/mth for 100/40 1000GB

        • @telecube:

Oops you're right. Nevermind me :)

  • +1

Hmm I'm getting itchy feet. Joined Aussie BB a few months ago and they have been great but these plans are really good.

    • i did the switch and no complaints, just saving money. have not experienced a jump in ping or drop in speeds

      • What was the cancellation process for AussieBB. Is there really a 30 day notice?

        • I called Aussie BB to cancel once Telecube was up and running (on my second port) and they cancelled for me on the spot.

        • @cwan:
You weren't on the trial were you?

        • @ChurchMouth: Nope, been with them for over a year.

  • Does it come with Static IP address?
Edit: Read it. Comes with Dynamic IP :(

No set up fee and I am in.

    • I believe you can get a static IP as an added extra

      • Thats $5.5 extra on top. I am currently with Belong on the $75 a month unlimited data with static ip at 25/5 plan.

        • +1

What is the benefit of having a static IP?

        • @danboy4:

Hosting a server, although not sure why he wants to host a server on a poor little 25/5 plan…

  • +2

Signed up for these guys last week and compared to the big giant ISPs the customer service is incredible. I'm a little worried that my data seems to be significantly higher than the exact same kind of usage on 4G when waiting to be connected, but i'll continue to monitor this.

  • +3

Looks like that setup fee is killing it. I would rather have something like 6 month contract and no setup fee.

    • +4

An option for something like that is coming.

      • Is there a timeframe for the "new" new plans? And is there likely to be a sweeter offer for Whirlpool/OzB forums, or will it be a single offer for all?

        • It's unlikely there will be a lower offer than this, the public pricing will increase at the end of the month.

  • +3

I'm already with Telecube 100/40 1000GB HFC - very good ISP so far with good speeds 24/7 and a small but responsive support team. Highly recommended for the more tech savvy user who is able to configure their own devices and use email rather than phone for support. I have connected several family members recently using a variety of technologies and the process has been smooth.
I am not a big data user so I might switch down to this plan if possible.

    • Same POP and tech and plan for me here. Great experience over the last 6 months.

  • Uploads are counted towards data allowance?

Edit: Read the critical information, yes uploads counts towards data allowance.

    • Yes

    • +2

It's NBN, I'm not aware of a single ISP offing quota free upload on NBN.

      • +1
      • +1

Heaps of ISP offer unlimited? Nbn dint charge rsp data usage unless it's satellite.

        • +1

          I promise you they're counting…
And if you use too much, the Fair Use Policy will kick in.

  • -1

what happened to the 12MBPS plans :)
i don't use the internet alot so those plans suited me

  • hi rep, i've also emailed support but haven't received a response but whats the process into moving into a rental that has an existing NBN connection - do you guys review or ask this during the sign in page? assume you at least need to know the move in date so you can ask the current NBN providers to port over to telecube?
    thanks

  • Switched from ABB to TC two weeks ago. Had a few issues during transfer but the guys at TC handled it professionally. and the speed is nothing but outstanding now. I usually get 80-93 dl with 30-35 up at night during 7pm-12am.

Support is limited and thats how they keep the price down.

You usually communicate with them through emails, if you have a little bit of DIY spirit, i think you should give it a try

  • No voip lines?

  • +6

im also in if you can waive the setup fee!

    • +16

sorry, unfortunately that means .. you're out ;-)
