waiting till the $99 deal like the 360.

    • +7

Keep waiting. By then, you'll only be 4 generations behind

      • +1

I do believe the 360 was only one gen behind when it first went to 99.

        • Yeah just kidding bro haha. But yeah, I think it'll be a while until we see those at $99

  • I bought one and just noticed it only debited $1.00 from my Amex, so maybe a canceled order incoming?

    • +2

That’s just their pre-authorisation payment, the rest goes through when your order is processed, don’t stress!

    • +1

I think they charge fully only once it ships. The $1 would have been to confirm that the card you were using is legit.

  • Looks great, wish it was another game though!

  • +1

my card was debited for $219.98, so I think it will be deliveried soon.

    • My card was debited too!

      Hopefully everything goes smoothly…

  • Ordered lets see if it comes :) cheers op

  • bought one, thanks OP!

  • +3

Bought one. Happy valentines day Everyone

  • +1

Picked one up as a gift for my cousin once he finishes his selective school's test. Hoping there will be a deal for a non minecraft one soon so I can get one for myself

  • bought. +1 OP

  • +1

Good price for the console but a truly hideous looking special edition…the original white S on the other hand looks beautiful.

    • +1

'til it turns Minecraft dirt brown :) or beige

  • +2

Bought! Barely have time to play my PS4, but who can say no to a bargain?

    • Ahh the true consumerist stupidity of Ozbargain. slow clap

  • +8

The broden's are listing before they even receive confirmation! They didn't even put any effort into the listings lol

    • +4

Track and Ban 'em out of OZB, Gumtree & Ebay.
      Out Out

      • +3

Would be funny if someone buys it on ebay yet Amazon doesn't deliver to the broden in the end.

Pretty sure it would look negative on their ebay feedback history :)

  • and… S O L D!!!!

    Frikken awesome deal, thanx OP!!!

  • Are they Brand New & Sealed?

    Can't find the condition listed.

    • Yes brand new. Seller Amazon AU won't be selling second hand goods.

  • -3

Does anyone think this will get cheaper? Not a minecraft fan but like the look of the console.

    • +4

      Buy now , think later.
This is also currently the cheapest 4K Blu-ray Disc Player

      • +1

Thought someone posted a samsung last week for 180?

        • Cheapest 4K Blu-ray Disc Player + You can play on it.
Dont hesitate & look for ultimate deal. You'll regret later when its out of stock

You can cancel it anyway by tomorrow

        • +2

@rodinthink: I agree with you, but we still should remain factual

  • -5

I have a $250 JB HI FI gift card whats the best way to buy this with gift card?

    • +13

Well you can't use a JB Hi-Fi gift card at Amazon.

    • Sell the card on the OzBargain classifieds.
Better yet, buy this now then sell the gift card.
I'm tempted to get this just so I can pay halo 5 couch coop.
Only played the first level because it's boring to be single player or online with randoms

      • No split screen on halo 5

        • I know. I have h5 and an original xb1.
Tempted to get this and another copy of h5.
I can put my computer screen near the tv and finally play though h5 couch coop over xbl

        • @idonotknowwhy:

Halo 5 is part of the Xbox games pass, which you get a month of free with this deal, so no need to buy another copy of it ;)

        • +1

          @kiwijar:
I only ever played Halo 2 MCC and 1 level of Halo5 sine I bought this xb1 3 years ago.

I'm finding it hard to resist buying this. You're not making it easy lol.

  • +5

    Must resist I have a ps4 with 30 games I don't play…

    • +2

Same here. I don’t need a Xbox but the price is too good. Must resist.

      • +3

Thinking if I wait another hour it will be sold out☺

        • +3

I searched Xbox library and noticed I had majority of the games on PS4. Bro, be strong and you can resist until till the deal is ended!!!!

        • @AussieGargain: Unless you want to play Forza Horizon 3, Forza Motosport 7, Gears of War 4, Halo 5, the other games will run better PS4 (you will need XB1X to get better result). PUBG is much better on PC (it is CPU heavy so even XB1X struggles with it a bit).

It does come with 1 month Game Pass, so you don't need to buy Gears of war 1,2,3,4, Halo 5. Gears of war ultimate edition is also there (Gears of war 1 XB1 enhanced version basically).

Hard to resist this one I reckon. Be strong and good luck.

        • +1

          @netsurfer:

I found at least with the 1 month free Game pass that i used with my new Xbox One S 500GB i got on Monday is that when registering the 1 month free code that you get an extra month free if you turn auto subscription renewal on during it. So in that case you get 2 months of free game pass. But this was on an account which never had a game pass code registered on it before. It is my very first Xbox.

        • @hollykryten: Yes. I did the 14 day trial + 1 month voucher + 1 month free (for leaving auto-renew on, can turn off immediately afterwards and still keep that 1 extra month). I guess you can do the 14 day trial after the 2 months instead.

Quick note for people: when Microsoft offers you that extra 1 month free, proceed with the transaction. Don't cancel it. Once you cancel it, Microsoft may not offer it to you again if you decided to get it later on.

I am keen to find out whether the free extra month can be obtained per account or there is a limit per console. Currently have an active Game Pass membership so will need to try it out in a few months time.

        • @netsurfer:

Yeah it might be for game pass codes coming with brand new consoles.

    • +1

      I have a 360 with 50 that I don't play

  • +1

    Boom! Amazon has finally arrived!

And I don't even want an xbox but for media player….

  • What do I do with my existing XBone though. I got mine from the Target deal with the Kinect a year ago for $320 I think.

    • Me too o.O

    • Do you use the kinect?

      • +1

        I did, till it stopped Kinecting… o.O

      • Certainly!

    • One S doesn't work with Kinect unless you have an adapter that MS have stopped making and that is so rare it sells for over $100. Keep the old one and link it to a second TV with the Kinect.

      • True. But do I need 2 consoles? Not really.

        • Yes, actually you do. You'll realise that come morning and make a purchase.

        • @fookos: @$220, this is indeed a bargain. I think I will wait for the PS4 to have a similar drop and go for that. I'd rather drop this money on a GPU for my PC tbh.

  • +1

Honestly bought one just to gamble for the gift voucher. Personally dont need an Xbox. See how it goes…

  • No trying to be edgy but if you purchase it with something else worth $300 combined , Can you claim 10% TRS off?
It's not for my personal gain , but perhaps it might help others who want to travel overseas in the next 2 months.

    • -2

If you really want to carry an X-Box in your carry-on luggage…

Also, no, because it doesn't meet the minimum.

      • Its small and you might be able to claim if you purchase other worth at least $72

  • It’s a good deal. I think the design is only for those who like Minecraft which I sort of do like. As much as I want to get this, I think I still prefer to save the $200 and contribute it to an Xbox One X (or even a Nintendo Switch) as I already have an original Xbox One. But for those who are after their first Xbox One, get this.

    • +2

I hate mine craft but I don't give 2 craps about the design, it's cheaper! It's Ozbargain not OzDesign!

      • +9

Exactly why I have a pink phone, was $7 cheaper

        • +2

          Classic

  • I dont own an Xbox One (just the Xbox 360). Bargain deal and its a limited edition bundle, but I dont need it, maybe when I want or have time to play the xbox games.

    • That's what I was thinking, but the other week I was considering buying a second hand 360 in case my existing one, that I don't play, rrod'd. For an extra 160 I get a 4k bluesy player, an up to date media centre, and get to play Xbox one games. Hard to go past that

  • Geez! Still love my original Xbox One 1TB but couldn't resist this. Kids will love it for the other room. Awesome. Thanks OP.

Ps. I wonder how many of these they have. Deal has been running for hours and still have stock. Well done Amazon.

    • Microsoft is the seller, they prob have hundreds if not thousands.

      • Sold by amazon au. Doubt if they have the stock.

  • +3

This is a great deal. This one has 1TB (most of the XBox one S deals come with the 512GB model). This one comes with a vertical stand. Even the previous best - end of year 2016 HVN deal (after AMEX $100 cashback), was the 512GB version + 1 game and that was $200. The vertical, extra 500GB (and the 1 month game pass) surely is worth more than $20.

Personally, I think even if you have a 4K HDR TV, this is still great value for money. XBox One X is more than double the price for the console alone. While you can see some differences on the XB1X enhanced games, it is not a huge difference (a few of them the difference is very minor to be honest; 2018 games may change that). Some games do offer 60fps option on XB1X, and that does help. I have both XB1S and XB1X, value wise, XB1S wins hands down. Checked an unboxing video, the Minecraft theme design doesn't look that bad. The included vertical stand is handy.

    • Even if you have a 4K HDR TV. The Xbox One S supports 4K blu-ray playback and 4K video streaming (Netflix). So you're all set there when it comes to that.

So this is well a cheap 4K blu-ray player and also plays video games.

  • +3

    Bought one.. Dont know why

    • +4

Because it's a great deal. Getting a great deal makes you feel awesome…

  • Good find OP. I'm still happily rocking the old Halo 5 edition console (not that it gets much use these days) so can't justify the impulse buy, but great for anyone who hasn't bought a console yet.

  • +1

I assume that if you have two xbox's (x-bi? Heh) that you could play full screen multiplayer minecraft in two rooms rather than split screen on one tv together.

    • Yeah, but I think you need a different account logged on each, two copies of the game (1 installed on each) and both of them will need an active XBLive gold running.

  • +2

4334 clicks and the item is still miraculously in stock. Starting to feel my chances of getting an Xbox is very slim..

    • Some of us have XB1/XB1S/XB1X already so we won't buy even though this is such a good deal. Some people do have the will power to resist it.

This price and free delivery is a fantastic deal if you are after an XBox One. Amazon generally don't charge you until they are able to confirm their ability to dispatch the item so it doesn't hurt to try (I never bought from Amazon AU before, only Amazon US and UK so far, but I think Amazon AU would be the same).

    • Don't worry.. The worst that can happen is they cancel your order and probably give u a gift card.

  • +2

Not sure if I need one but bought it anyway

  • dirt cheap

  • Amazon wouldn't take my money…bad experience all night…

    • What happened?

  • Maybe, just maybe, Amazon AU have decided that they want to start competing on price because until now, they haven't

  • Just need some advice. I have a 4K HDR TV and a PS4 Pro.

My original plan was to wait for the Xbox One X to drop down to a cheaper price ($350-$450) as there are a few Xbox exclusives I was keen on.

Is the One S at this price worth the buy?

    • -1

Yes it is. The (currently) small visual upgrades and frame rate increases offered by the Xbox One X are not worth an extra $200-$400 for most people.

    • Do you see a big difference between PS4 Pro enhanced games vs PS4 Pro with boost mode turned off (essentially making it run like a normal PS4) on your 4K TV? Or, will you play a lot of games which are on both platforms and will be XB1X enhanced? If you feel PS4 Pro enhanced games make a big difference for you, then XB1X is a better choice. Otherwise, XB1S is fine.

I have XB1S, XB1X, PS4 Pro. It comes down to the games mostly. Do you want to play those XBox One exclusive games now? You can see a difference between XB1S vs XB1X (4K texture, text is crisper in 4K rendering mode, some games offer 60fps mode). Is it a huge difference? No, because dynamic objects, shadows are not true 4K for most games. Some XB1X games use dynamic resolution (i.e. they don't stay at true 4K all the time). I still play on XB1S a lot (even for XB1X enhanced games, honestly, to me, not a huge difference).

  • +4

I always told myself I'd pick up an Xbox One when I could find a new 1TB version for around $200; I'm a man of my word. Thanks op.

  • +1

Just bought one because I need some Green colour visual effect in my lounge.

  • -3

What is the risk of getting like 10 of these say, and Amazon keeps this price permanent (instead of what I assume is an error/flash sale)? Making dirty scalpers lose out on potential profits? Coz that would be glorious indeed.

    • +2

Smaller retailers on feeBay appear to set their price based on $299 + feeBay and PayPal fees + postage (though the listing says free postage, it is not really free). This suggests they are able to source the item below $299 (these are listings posted BEFORE today) or they simply want to clear their stock.

Even if Amazon AU set the price back to $299, none of the feeBay listings look competitive at all. Assuming you can get fee waiver from feeBay for 10 items, you only have $65 left to work with per item (PayPal fee won't be waived). You still need to take out postage. It's just too much trouble. Get one if you need it, but buy to sell is not worth the trouble. JB Hi Fi did have a deal previously that you end up getting the 1TB XB1S for cheaper than this one if you sold all 4 games included in the deal.

      • Yeah that's what I figured, you'd probably make like $30-40 per item on these. Not worth the time. And don't even get me started on the shit eBay fees.

But what alternative is there? I used to sell all my stuff on eBay as there wasn't another option except Gumtree, but then you have to deal with stupid low ballers and shitty people in person. Is there actually anything else on there?

        • Facebook Marketplace, but same issues as Gumtree.

        • +3

So are you asking on behalf of “dirty scalpers”, or for yourself?

        • -1

@aja12: I was considering being a dirty scalper but I really can't be bothered. My laziness overcomes my need to be a greedy piece of shit this day.

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Deal hasnt expired yet. Must hold off longer. HOW MUCH STOCK IS THERE?????????????

    200 plus 800= 1000
    200 plus 19800= 20000
    200 plus 199800= 200000

    Where is OzSAVE???

  • Just bought one. What a sweet price! Thanks OP.

  • Wow, this is a crazy price indeed - even on Amazon's UK store you won't get anything close to this. In fact the price in British Pounds is more than 219.98 of their money!

  • +3

Resisted till now…but still available…so ordered one for $210…
