Penfolds RWT Barossa Valley Shiraz 2015 for $119 Per Bottle @ Dan Murphy's

130

Please note: Limit of 12 bottles applies

Region: Barossa Valley Varietal: Shiraz
RWT Barossa Valley Shiraz expresses single region Barossa Valley shiraz matured only in French oak. RWT is made from fruit primarily selected for its aromatic qualities and lush texture. The result is a wine that helps to redefine Barossa shiraz at the highest quality level. On the nose there is freshly sliced panforte - date, fig, with dried and fresh blue fruits that become more apparent upon sitting. Immediately recognisable cedary French oak - synergised by the liberation of sweet Moroccan spices and a propulsion of dried roasted almond. The 2015 vintage is more ostensibly textural than other red wines in The Penfolds Collection. Yet still super-saturated with red and blue-berried fruits and liquorices (both red and black). The tannins are fine, sleek and polished - all there to convey, not to confront. Lingers, ever so pleasantly. Once again spoilt by the generosity on the palate of what the Barossa does best.

I thought it must be a dozen for $119… but nope, over $1400 for the dozen. Ouchy.

    • Sorry for the confusion. Updated title.

    • Sorry not available in Mt Druitt Dan Murphys. Jk ;)

      • Ive never heard of Mt Druitt - do you live there ?

        • Never watched ‘Struggle Street’?…

        • @Bunsen: umm no I don't believe I have.
Sounds like a cross between Kath & Kim and a reality tv series. Not my thing.

I'd get a decent single malt for that price .

Great wine. Have a few stashed away myself. Often $150-170 so that's a good price.
I realise its not a classic 'bargain' but that is a pretty good deal for anyone who fancies building up their wine cellar with a few premium wines that won't demolish your bank account.

  • Where’s broden on this 1??? Lol..

  • I drink Gossip Shiraz, better value.

    • This wine won't contain shards of glass.

  • Selling it off cheap. Must be close to the use-by date.

  • I feel this would be much more appropriately priced @ $118.88

  • This is still available for delivery. $7 delivery in Sydney, free if you spend over $300.

Got my first bottle of this years ago through advice from this site.
