  • Signing up now through online chat!

    Good deal.

Too bad I signed up for Optus Huawei Mate 10 pro a month ago for same price. Otherwise I would have been on this like a cheap sweater

    • Same here, would definitely be all over this if not for getting the mate 10 pro recently

  • +1

I was able to sign up through the online store. ALSO i was previously on the 12 month BYO offer from JBHIFI with the bonus $200 gift card. I was able to move from that over to this new plan no problem and they even waived the termination fee!

    • Online chat or just the website?

    • Whats the trick? Do you have the rep's details?

      • +1

online chat through the telstra 24/7 app. DOnt know her detais. just said i talked to a rep yesterday about upgrading and theysaid yesterday they they would wave the fee.

  • Tried Telstra Melbourne Central, they had no idea about it and refused the offer.

    • That is odd, I spoke to Scott and he said the deal is on and they only have 2 Black phone in stock.

  • Hey Guys,

I was able to sign up for this deal via Online Chat.

    • Hi Rep name did you have?

      • +1

        Sarah Jane

  • Gaaahhh… just bought 1 year Kogan 2 weeks ago

    • Me too I would of totally bought this

    • +1

I renewed my 365 day kogan deal in dec… still tempted to port over to this

    • Mine still not activated yet.
      Any chance of refund?

    • same thing happened to me last December with the last round of telstra/JB deals. Kogan were able to refund!

      • I activated already :(

  • Damn i am on Telstra prepaid. Will porting out to another prepaid network and back again for this deal work? Which network is quickest to port?

    • +1

I ported to Optus prepaid & had phone working within 15 mins.

      • How were you able to? I bought a $2 Optus sim, but sounds like I have to put a recharge on it as well to activate it.. any way of just doing it for the $2 sim amount?

        • Same thing with vodafone its asking me to do a recharge, I just chucked $10 on it to get me through the weekend in case port doesn't work.

  • Is this lease phone plan? If yes, not worth it cos you won't get to keep the phone. And worst if you damaged the phone n have to pay extra

    • Not lease. Own.

  • Online chat is ok with the deal, but won't add the google mini & earphones. Will try another rep :)

    • Yeh seems luck of the draw. The rep I'm dealing with at the moment, initially denied any deals, then when I mentioned the details she said it expired on the 26th but will still do it. Made sure Google Home Mini was included too!

  • where do people sell the google home mini at?

    • ebay/gumtree/facebook/ozb forums

    • I'm sure they'll go on ebay. If you're looking at buying, I'll be happy to sell you mine.

      • -1

how much are you selling it for?

  • Signed up Telstra online chat.
Reps name is Adriel, was very helpful!

    • Did online chat give you Google Home Mini? Mine said it wasn't part of the deal.

  • signed up online via chat, i am already with tesltra. (didn't worry about the google mini)

    • So you didn't have to port a number?

      • Nope. Kept same number. Moved from $40 BYO non contract to this plan.

        • Phone arrived today, had phone + google mini + earphone all wrapped together

  • +5

HEY GUYS! To clarify things, u dont need to do a port-in to get this deal. For those asking if they are getting the google home mini and eaphones, the answer is yes, you will get them. atm alot of telstra stores don't have these in-stock!

Another thing to clarify, if ur on a BYO plan with telstra u are ellegible to upgrade to this plan without paying out the contract.

    • How do you do the upgrade?

      • you can upgrade over online chat or in-store

        • I wonder if JB HiFi would just do the deal with the $200 gift card on the pixel, to save the hassle of upgrading then…

        • +1

They dont want to do it without a port in. Can we flash your employee number?

    • Hi Mate,

Do you know how long this deal is on for? interested in it for my wife but need to end her contract (only a month left on it) with telechoice and then port across.

      • +1

        30/04/2018

        • Thanks for the quick response, i can actually wait for her plan to end then hehehe.

    • I'm on a BYO plan and I was advised I'm not eligible.

      • it seems they don't want to do the deal for you haha, was there any other reason?

        • haha pretty much man

        • @akg88: when does your contract end?

        • also no reason - I even said I can port out - but they said nah it's a re-activation then and not a port in - and I tried the store/chat/phone.

        • @Zues981: I believe I still gotta pay another $180

        • @akg88: with the byo plan, did u get a device?

        • @Zues981: No cause its a BYO

        • i'm on an old F&F plan, the online guys were only interested in selling me a S9 for only $94/mth with…..wait for it….2GB of data! I tried two reps.

    • Just to clarify mate, if I walked into JB and signed up for the BYO deal with $200 gift card I could then go to Telstra and upgrade to this plan? Thanks!

      • potentially yes, i don't know how other stores(sales consultants will feel about it) but they could tell you to you are un-ellegible to get the offer cause you got the contract via JB.

      • Interested as well

    • Hi Zues, I have the BYO 12m plan currently since Dec.
Was really hoping to get this asked online chat they denied.

I'll try in store tomorrow? :)

      • atm, you are not over the 6month period with your plan and might pay a upfront payment, but that will go towards your bill as well.

        • I've gone through 4 reps already and all of them said it was port in only. Any tips? Thanks.

    • Have tried 3x people on On-Line chat - they won't let me do it unless it is a port-in.

Any way we can do this?

Only have 2 months left on contract.

    • well i tried and they said i am also not elligible. can you tell me where it says i am eligible, i am also on a BYO plan with telstra

    • Really I will try it today

  • +1

So tempting… each time I see such deal I have to do a calculation (e.g. 59*24=1416) to calm me down :(

    • u get a really good phone and 15gb of data on australias fastest network, not worth?

      • +1

unlimited international call to selected countries?

        • I think that is only on the $79 family and friends deal.
The $59 doesn't include any international minutes from the PDF they sent me.

        • +1

          @Shads:
Wish they include int. call and that would be perfect for me.

        • @tuanphaus: Yeh my partner is from the UK so would have been amazing if it was.

        • @tuanphaus:

          I think it's a $10/month addon

      • And of course service outages lol

    • yeah, but if you're already paying say $30/mth then it's $696 over 2yrs for the device& probably a better plan.
And you can possibly claim some/most it of on tax.

    • basically free plan if you pay for the phone outright lolll

      • haha thats true, i got the jbhifi deal last year when you get $49/m with 20gb and a $200 gift card, but for an extra 10bucks i get a phone with google home mini and earphones, i aint complaining.

    • Remember that the plan itself is worth $30 (Compared to if you brought outright). 30x24=70 is what you are paying for the phone as compared to outright.

You can also claim this all on tax if it's for work purposes and get it cheaper.

  • Signing up now in store. They will only order phone in due to the special deal.

Been waiting for a deal like this for a long time! Thanks for the tip off 👍

  • Or possibly new sign ups too? or do I need to get a free sim with a free number & then port in?

  • Just chatted with 24/7 support, apparently this deal is available to April 30th, 2018, obviously in-store only.

  • Is this only the XL or is it the standard pixel 2 also?

    Great deal though!!

    • -2

      Either one

      • Awesome!! Is there any difference in price or storage though?

        • +1

The XL is quite a bit more expensive. You'd be crazy to get the normal Pixel over the XL for the same price unless you have baby hands.

        • @KLoNe: Haha it's not that I have baby hands, it is just that a 6 inch phone might just be a little big for my liking. 5 inches is a good size phone, but I do have some difficulties using it one handed sometimes (eg messaging on the far left side of the keyboard)

        • +1

@pennypincher98: In that case, yes the Pixel 2 is excellent. It doesn't look as good as the XL and the bezels are stupid big, but the phone is as fast as an Audi R8.

        • @KLoNe:

          bezels are stupid big

Hmm, I might have to look at in store and compare them. Or I can always just sell it and buy something else with the proceeds :D

        • +1

          @pennypincher98:

sell it and buy something else with the proceeds :D

This :) The deal is too good to pass up, but the Pixel 2's aren't as mindblowing as they were expected to be.

        • @KLoNe: Haha yeah I might look into reselling, how much would I get for the XL do you reckon?

  • Dipin on online chat told me the deal ended online last week. In-store only

  • bought - Adelaide City Cross store Rundle Mall, last one left was white.
quickest decision i ever made! didn't even really need a new phone, lucky contract was out with Virgin on my existing phone.

  • White colour handset please. Can you confirm that the Google home mini and additional earphones are included as well?
    Giancarlo at 15:39, Feb 28:
    I'm checking that now.
    Giancarlo at 15:40, Feb 28:
Based on our offer, you'll get a Google Home Mini with the order. This is applicable while supplies last.

Could you please double check about the AIAIAI earphones which are being offered with the order? I have heard from both JB Hifi staff and Telstra staff that they are included with this offer and have spoken to other people who have recently gotten this exact off through Telstra online chat and received the AIAIAI earphones with the handset and the google mini home
    Giancarlo at 15:44, Feb 28:
Oh okay, that's a store exclusive deal. What we have is the Google Home Mini with a Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL order.

    You also get :
    6 months free Apple Music

Included data-free Sports Live Passes (AFL,NRL, Netball).

    • +9

Ah well. The headphones are pretty shitty anyway mate.

  • I've just been in one of the shops, there's a choice of 4 mobiles on the plan. Took a photo of the deal, will upload when I get home.

    • +1

Can you quickly tell us which?

      • for that plan you get the pixel 2, pixel 2 xl, iphone 6(32gb) and telstra signature 2

        • +1

Half year old flagship phones are in the same plan price as four years old iPhone… geeez
