Do these lights have Australian approval? Because Chinese bulbs is one thing, but something which is built into your home is another.
My mileage with some of these Chinese LED's has been mixed. Some lasted well, but most did not get anywhere close to the rated lifespan (usually something silly like 50,000hrs) or even melted.
Consider the cost of getting an electrician out there when buying…

      Thanks for your question.

Yes, We get these downlights from an Australian local supplier, all the LED downlights we carry has RCM and SAA approval, they are Legal Lighting Products.

About the lifespan, put it this way, we offer 5 Years replacement warranty if it has any issue during the warranty period, we will send you the replacement unit.

For this LED Downlight Kit with plug, you can install them by yourself as long as you have a pre-wired roof circuit with roof sockets (quick connectors) installed by an electrician.

      Regards

That sounds fair enough. For what it's worth, I once ordered Epistar MR16 bulbs and these are among the few that did not give me issues.

Rep. Can you clarify the cable length?
Your post says .6m but the item description says 1.2m extension cable

    • The first batch of downlight we had was with 1.2m extension cable, and we found for the most recent batch of downlights, manufacture has shortened the length down to 0.6m.

But we still have some of the old stock from the last batch left.

Let me clarify, you the length of the extension cable is 0.6m. (Just refined the description)

      Thanks for pointing this out.

Hey rep, the cut-outs in my ceiling are around 15 cm. Do you have any similar downlights which would fit? Don't really want to get adaptors to reduce the cut-out size to 90mm. Cheers

    • Click the link below to view:

      14W slim LED Downlights

There are 2 products in this listing with different wattage.

Select the 14W downlight kit, it fits 15cm cut-out hole.

We currently sold out of it but it is available for backorder.

We need 1-2 days to backorder and dispatch this downlights.

    Hi Rep
What's the brightest warm white B22 LED bulb that you have? I have two light fittings currently fitted with 13W LEDs but looking for something brighter…Thanks

    • Sorry, we don't have any 13W B22 socket LED bulbs in stock, only have the E27 socket bulbs in 13W.

if you need the B22, we need to order it for you and it takes 2-3 days for us to sources.

1800Lm is the brightness for 13W LED bulb claimed by Philips Lighting.

Is it safe to install insulation directly above these lights, or do they need to be clear for heat dispersion? I notice they don't have big heat sinks.

    • +1

Make sure the back of the heatsink does not touch any of the insulation material.

The ideal space between heatsink (narrow end) cover and ceiling insulation materials is 5cm.

However, the cover shell is made of flame retardant plastic.

      Kind regards,

      Yu

Thanks op - bought 10x 12w 5500k lights! I've been wanting to fit-out new lighting in the garage and study, so that's perfect!
I feel you may have seen the previous comments around the someone recommending the Atom Lighting AT9012's - these Epistar ones actually look far better connectivity wise.

    Hi Rep

Is the only 12W dimmable version also switchable (i.e no "non switchable" 12W?)

Also, does the 12W switchable look exactly the same as the 12W non-switchable

    Thanks

    • Hi,

We have 12W dimmable 3CT switchable,
      12W Non-dimmable 3CT switchable
12W Dimmable 3000k (Non Colour Temperature Switchable)
12W Dimmable 5500k (Non Colour Temperature Switchable)
      12W Non-Dimmable 3000k (Non Colour Temperature Switchable)
      12W Non-Dimmable 5500k (Non Colour Temperature Switchable)

6 of these different models looks exactly same on the diffuser side,

the only difference is CT switchable downlights have a little CT switch on the back of the heatsink cover,

non-switchable downlight does not have that switch.

      • Great thanks. On the diffuser/visible side, is the outer white ring made of plastic?

        • Yes,the while ring is made of plastic.

i just want to conform with REP that its sure 120 degree beam angle coz i bought it before from other store in which they mentioned 60 degree beam angle but when i got it just spot light.

    • I confirm that the downlights we carry are 120-degree beam angle downlights, not the spotlights which has a narrow beam angle.

These downlights are made for general lighting purposes not highlighting any certain areas.

      Regards,

      Yu

Rep, do you have dimmable LED downlight higher than 13w (or higher than 1100 lumen) in 90mm cutout?

Also, is your lumen rating are measured at LED (before the diffuser), or actual lumen out after the diffuser?

Looking to get 35x of the above…

    • Sorry, we don't have any 90mm cutout downlights which are more powerful than 13W.

Because the heat radiation will create a safety problem when you need to fit 4 more LED diodes on to the same plate even with an external driver, it simply needs a

bigger plate ( bigger cutout size ).

the lumen rating is measured after the diffuser 5cm away from the lamp.

Sounds like you have a high ceiling in your room, 1000lm downlights are quite bright, downlights >13W and 90mm cutout are hard to find on the market, even there is

one, the actual wattage could be way lower than it claimed.

Another way to increase Lumen/Squire meter is to increase the number of downlights in a room as long as your ceiling height is in a reasonable range.

Our suggestion is either make the ceiling holes wider or cut few more holes.

      Regards,

      Yu
