Remember The SA Bank and $50 Signup Bonus?

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/346012

I opened a Bank SA account and was able to deposit $500 and got the $50 bonus. But when I want to withdraw it all, they want (more) personal identification documents? I lost $15 (the $5 monthly fee) because of it (I'm a busy person). I know it's for security reasons and all but it seems pretty stupid still. I can't withdraw my own money (without stepping into a branch and handing over info). Is this standard practice?

Haven't you heard of "100 points of ID" before?

Unless you already have an account with them, the banks will always require ID.

  • I left my account just sitting there when I found out I had to actually go in I'm to show ID. Wonder if I'll still be getting charged fees.

    • You need to deposit $2000 a month to avoid fees.
