Portable Air Conditioner

Hi all. Just looking for a portable A/C, for a small room linked with a bathroom then toilet. It's always either really hot in this room, or really cold. Only ever used a fan in here. If there's any bargains on heaters or someone can convince me to get something else, I will. The cheaper the better, I don't have an idea how much a decent portable A/C would go for but around $200~ would be nice.

Edit: I'd settle for a decent heater, it'd be a lot cheaper and it won't be a hassle to set up.

Done some googling and it looks like I'm dreaming to get a portable AC for $200.

Not dreaming you just gotta go second hand and be lucky.
I picked up my portable aircon for exactly $200 used (they're $1095 brand new) which cooled my room decently in 45c weather this past few summers.
Polocool is the brand they are insanely good.

Yep, unless you are lucky and can find one 2nd hand.

Don't think you'll be able to get a decent portable A/C for $200; the ones that aren't complete rubbish start at around $800 such as the Delonghi water to air models.
Best portables ones have dual inlet/outlet pipes but those are pretty rare in Aus

Might be worth looking at your ventilation and shading first, then maybe at evaporative coolers.
Use a car window shade on the window when it's in direct sunlight, and make sure you have doors and windows are open in the house to get cross flow as much as you can

Most heaters will have the same efficiency so just choose one that has enough power for the room size

Make sure any portable one you buy has an outlet pipe to send all the heat they generate outside otherwise its just a fan. I bought my portable unit from Masters for about $300.

This deal is still active if you're looking for a sub $199 AC (but shipping still adds to that cost).

Just note they will be pretty loud and you might want to use a timer to get them to auto-shutdown prior to bedtime.
