      I would assume it's included, since its buying from amazon.com.au instead of their US site. AFAIK their AU site have to follow local tax laws.

    Annoyed i couldn't get into the synology expo to get one of these for $500 (not sure if +$50 gst)

    Want one, but $700 is still a lot

        Same, I went to the conference (missed out on a DS918 tho) and tbh there was some real ungrateful types who at the beginning while we were all waiting to go in actually shouted at the Synology workers to just give him his box so he can get out. This was BEFORE the conference started, it was pretty blatant. No lie, actually shouted at them.

        And yeah it burns. I thought I might find solice in a lesser or even upper (better value model) but after heaps of research there's no getting away from the 4bay DS918+.. I could only hope an upgrade of it would come out soon but doubt it'll be so quick ;_; (happily pay more for lightning, better cpu, smaller form facter (piss of 3.5" ffs)

    Been looking for 4 Bay Media NAS or Server, what's the advantage of this compared to getting a Gen10 Microserver for $465 8gb?

      it depends on how much fiddling you want to do.

      Synology is rock solid & easy to setup & forget.
      But HP server is more flexible, choice of OS's, etc.
