  • Is N8/N9 better than this in terms of specs?

    • +4

Yes, but general consensus is that the differences are not worth the price. N7 series is the first to get proper HDR. The 8 and 9 are still edge lit, which is disappointing. N9 has quantum dots so better peak brightness, but overall, N7 is best bang for buck.
If you want to spend more, I'd look at OLED.

      • Thanks for the summary. Too confusing with that many models.

  • so odd question - my current TV is above a fire place and 50" … I'd like to get something like this size but I would be looking high up to the center of the screen… so I'm wondering if there is a mount that i can use that will hold it to the wall but easily allow it to come out a little from the wall (say 15cm) and lower down say half its height and then return (gas or spring loaded). Does a generic mount exist for this sort of thing?

  • How reliable is hisense TV ? I know its Price are very competive compare to the Brand name TV like Sony or Samsung, however is it worth spending less and risk on it fail down the track, say after 3 years? Can any Hisense owner comment on their experience?

    • +1

Mate, I LOVE my Hisense TV's… My parents have had LG and SONY and have returned within 12 months for warranty. I have 6 Hisense TV's and they are faultless. Best bang for buck and very reliable.

      • wow thats Great. How long have you got your TV for?

        • +1

My newest is a 4K 50" for over a year now. The others are non UHD (4+ years). I really cannot see myself ever buying another brand. Don't get me wrong, SAMSUNG are GREAT Tv's, but bang for buck, HISENSE blows everyone out of the competition (IMO).

  • According to this more recent deal, $2236 is now the price to beat for this TV.

    • +2

Yeah unfortunately hardly anyone actually got it at that price, the listing wasn't supposed to be at that price but wasn't removed properly so a few people managed to grab it. It was then relisted at $3295 or $2636 after discount.

  • I may be wrong but aren’t some of the N7’s edge kit and some of them back lit?

    • +1

I don't know what this means, but it seems important! Can someone confirm?

      • Hisense page says they are all backlit. Think the old model wasn’t all backlit for all the sizes.
