Interesting concept. However the smallest is a bit heavy as cabin baggage at 2.8kg. Plenty of 1.7 and 1.8 around. Very important for me using AirAsias 7kg free cabin baggage allowance :)

I think you'd mainly benefit with the larger sizes. Cabin bags are already quite small but being able to collapse a 77cm bag is appealing (imo).

      • Good point!

        • I've had the smaller size now for a few years, has been (carry-on) for upwards of 100 flights and checked for a dozen more. Has held up pretty well except for needing the wheels to be replaced. None of the zipper issues often found on other brands (eg samsonite).

          So good quality bags.

      • Yes, I bought the large size 77cm, it's only 3.6kg.

  • Were these available with the 20% off POK sale?

    • That ended 19 May.

      • Yes I know but were these available at this price during the sale?

        • I received the email yesterday so probably no.

  • I have the previous version of this bag in the large size and it has been a very good bag. It is nice and compact when folded and stores well.

It can have a tendency to topple when full though. The side handle is has started to tear but this is after a number of international trips where it got a good beating from baggage handlers.

  • I have the previous-previous version (flightweight). Not sure why these have gotten heavier with successive generations with no additional features.

I just switched to the American Tourister herolite bag. Slightly larger capacity (41L for the cabin size), and close to half the weight (~1.45 kg).

    • I had a similar soft-sided but not collapsible Paklite. Part of the problem with these super-light-weight bags is that (in my experience) the outer fabric tears extremely easily at the various friction points (corners, back edges).
