Howdy

Found a pallet of the Dell 990 stock basically the same as this previous deal which was pretty popular. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/354830

Taking advantage of the 5% off brings the price down to $208.05

If the 10% off promo goes ahead tonight that will be even better.

Quick Summary

8GB RAM
500GB HDD
They have 7 Pro COA's but will be Imaged with Windows 10 Pro.

        Hi

Can you tell me whether these unit are SFF or Desktop? You have Desktop in this post and the eBay listing mentions both SFF and Desktop

I asked via eBay whether SFF or Desktop and the reply was "We are all sold out"

        • They are desktop models, same as picture and listing title.

        • @Calmago: Thanks, to me the picture looks like a SFF. I think we have different interpretations of what a Desktop is.
          To me a Desktop:
          1. Takes a full height expansion card
          2. Uses a standard ATX power supply
          and a SFF:
          1. Takes a half height expansion card
          2. Doesn't use regular ATX (although a few do)

Since the unit on sale use a half height card I would call it a SFF, you call it a Desktop.
You say tomato, I say tomahto.

          Regards
          Mark

          Hi Mark

Sorry mate, this isn't a tomato, tomahto thing.

          Ultra Small Form Factor
          Small Form Factor
          Desktop
          Tower

This picture bellow should clear it up for you

  • I picked this exact model up a few months ago, i actually ended up putting RX 550 AERO ITX 2G OC into it along with an ssd.

Only downside is you have to modify the back plate and of course for it to fit you have to leave the side off the case (Or, as i'm planning to do, get the dremel out and modify the cover).

Not sure why people are saying the free upgrade doesn't work, worked perfectly fine simply using the windows tool, as its windows 7 which you can still upgrade.

Extremely cheap, basic gaming machine, mostly been playing lol, bf1, MWO, civ 6 etc, which it plays absolutely fine.

There are a lot of reports saying "X" graphics card wont work, even read an article that said the specific card i got for it wouldn't work, but works fine and flawlessly, not a single issue with the system since i have had it setup.

  • Got my machine yesterday. Apart from the rear panel being bashed about in transport, it seems like a good machine.

DVI to HDMI cable from ebay did the trick.
