Optus Fetch TV or Vodafone TV

Looking to sign a new deal for NBN. Currently with Aussiebroadband but the internet is really crappy. They say NBN issue. Nothing they can do.
NBN saying no issues.
If I have to live with crappy NBN, then why not change to a provider which is offering more value. Enters Optus ( Free Fetch TV and one channel) and Vodafone ( Free Netflix for 12 months + $5 pm Vodafone TV).

Which do you think will be a better device ?

  • Voda

  • Do you want to be able to watch subscription TV channels? eg. ESPN, National Geographic etc, CNN. Fetch TV has a wide range of channels for $6 a pack or $20 for about 40 channels.

These aren't available on Vodafone TV.

  • I had Fetch TV as part of my Optus bundle but I couldn't find anything worthwhile watching or paying extra for so I'd say it's pretty much useless.
Don't know anything about Vodafone TV

  • AussieBB are really good, I doubt it's them.

What kind of NBN have you got? And what's the issue? FTTN you're probably out of luck. If there is an actual fault you can put some pressure on NBN to fix it through your local MP.

If you just want to save some cash then probably better to go with Telecube for a no frills service

    Telecube are awesome as well.

I have an outright FetchTV, on difference to Optus is that I don't get access to Optus EPL. Getting Fetch on Optus is a major lock in.

Voda Android box looks interesting but probably no better than the cheap ones on this site all the time.

Fetch Mighty is good if you like recording FTA content if you don't like messing around with crappy catch up services

Netflix has better quality content than FTA overall.

Yes Mate, its is AussieBB. I know they are the best, but still the best speed I ever got was 23 Mbps. They themselves asked me to downgrade my plan as they cannot give 100 Mbps. Regular disconnects ( 3-4 times a day ) are normal for me. Unfortunately on FTTN and its the main reason of my troubles.

Voda box is full android so sounds appealing and Netflix added in great.
As others have posted here, also checked with my friends that Fetch programs are not to the mark. I think I'll go with Voda :)

FTTN sucks. I feel sorry for you. I seriously hope that the current government loses purely on all the areas who ended up with FTTN.

        • im on fttn, bout 350m from the node and have a stable 100/40 (its 104/46 on the modem page).

its a lotto, its not all bad
