  • Knobby nuts?? TMI.

  • If they are still imported nut, definitely NO!!!
Those nuts totally ruined it. Pun intended.

Oh how I love salt on my nuts.

    • I like my nuts roasted.

      • I like my nuts roasted, rooted and salted.
        The way nature intended.

  • Love me some of Nobby's nuts. Better when they're salty.

Thanks. It's been about 10 years or more since I nibbled on Nobby's nuts. Are these actually better? Even without the red chokey bits?

When I was a kid generic brands nearly always tasted stale and just not right. Either generics picked up their game, or I was a spoilt brat, or my taste buds have become easier to please (like the "dark chocolate effect").

      He probably still remembers you.

      • Don't worry, I'll never forget you Scab.

    • When I was a kid

      Oh the trauma.

Used to love them but hadn't had Nobbys for years. I got a packet for Christmas that was
so undercooked and tasteless after several goes at it I eventually just threw the bag.

Has something changed or did I just get a dud batch?

If you search it, they don't use Aussie peanuts for a few years. The imported peanuts are nuts in a really bad way. No better than The Home brands, when Woolies & Coles has Aussie peanut varieties.
For those who negged me above, buy as much as you like, who cares. I want Real Aussie Peanuts!

      • The texans grow pecans out west in a big way , as land and water are cheaper then the states.
Then they glaze with honey for export, also other flavours like curry ect.
I think Kingaroy peanuts do the same for local market if you can find them.
        Edit.
Kingaroy flavoured peanuts are on Facebook

      • Exactly. Why pay a premium for imported nuts? A fool and his money are easily parted.

        Will look for Kingaroy.

      • Ok that explains it. I actually went across the road and grabbed some woolies brand peanuts and they were far better. was really surprised.

  • In 2 days

    Maybe…

  • As I always say.. Nibble Nobbys nuts before Nobby nibbles yours.

  • Meh, local Asian grocer has 1kg salted peanuts for $5.

    • Where?

Peanuts are a staple for me. If anyone can point me in the direction of unsalted peanuts for $5/kg or less, I'd be very grateful!

KFL in Coburg, Melbourne. I think they may have branches elsewhere.

They also have unsalted 1kg for $5.99

      • His spelling belongs in a stir-fry - it's no good either

        • Wow ,way to state the blatantly obvious.
You must be so much fun at parties
