    • nah. They know your paying via the app, it beeps/alarms in the shop. Once you do it the first time and drive off, its easier second time around.

Got it on my Amex and the four supplementary cards. Dun have a car though lol. I'll leave it for you guys

  • This might be a stupid question but where do we check to see if we got the offer? I goto the Amex connect website but there's no where to login?

    • I normally go to my Amex app. I have the essential card.

      • I have a bank issued Amex card…

  • When setting up the BPme app I let it log me in using paypal, then I selected my Amex card from paypal. Is that going to work, or do I need to change my payment option to be credit card to get this $10?

    • +1

You need to change it to your actual credit card as third party transactions like PayPal will render you ineligible for the $10 credit

      • thanks. Glad I asked, I thought it didn't sound right after I remembered I had installed the app for an Amex deal :)

  • -1

Does this work if I pay using Paypal with an Amex card?

    • +2

No, Amex offers need to be paid directly using Amex card.

  • Here’s a link to check if you have the offer: https://global.americanexpress.com/offers/eligible

  • Was able to redeem the offer yesterday without any issues. Received Amex thank you email straight away.

The app was slow to respond when I tried to unlock the pump and it does take some time to receive a notification from the pump to process the payment.

    • Ditto. I found I had to wait a little while for it to process the payment after I finished filling up. Not sure if thats because the technician inside needs to confirm or do anything or not though?

I just gave my windscreen a quick wipe down while I waited. Did feel weird to not go in to pay though. All in all, prob the same amount of time if there are no queues. Pity about the lack of Velocity points.. only reason I'd go to BP if the price is the same elsewhere.

  • I saved the offer but the app refuses to accept my AMEX… LOL

  • Offer applicable to my Explorer card, but prices in VIC has just gone up so will wait for it to drop a little before pumping up.

Your BPme wallet has been locked

Received multiple emails this morning saying my BPme account is locked.
I have added 6 Amex cards(mine + supplementary cards) to the app.. guessing that could be the reason

    • +1

Got the same but I only have one Amex

    • +1

My account has been locked as well.. whats happening? Bpme got compromised?

    • Ditto; mine's been locked too and I only have one card on it at the moment … Should have filled up yesterday 😭

      • +1

        Same thoughts!

Calling them at the moment and have been on hold for about 7 minutes - 'We are currently experiencing a higher level of enquiries…'

        • +1

          Spoke with them
Asked me to send a screenshot of the app and the email received and they advised they’ll call back.

I have received 6 emails and hence suspecting it’s related to the number of cards you’ve added

        • @spk: I received two e-mails. I used to have a DJs Amex attached to it, added my Velocity Escape as it was the only card with this offer, and removed my DJs Amex.

        • +1

          @spk:

Oh I understand. After I wrote the comment I received three more emails.

I spoke to them and the lady on the phone just said it was a technical glitch (no compromise - I specifically asked), and that I would be able to log in once it was resolved.

    • mine locked too. Will try to create a new account

    • Glad it's not just me. I received 6 emails and only have 2 Amex cards added to the account.

    • I have 4 cards linked to mine and received the emails as well

  • What the hell? My BPme app just got suspended / locked. No idea why. Got like 7 emails about it being locked.

  • locked too

  • Anyone here who hasn't gotten their account locked? 😂

  • +3

Haha, tks for comments. Will love to see the washup out of this debacle. Free $10 fuel maybe :)

  • +1

My wallet is locked too. Only 1 card but got 4 emails within minutes of each other.

    • I had 2 cards and 7 emails.

  • Sounds like a glitch. Luckily i used it once already and so did my partner.

So that's where the Qantas IT work experience kids are this week?

  • +1

Able to login without any issues now

    • +1

Ditto; got a text message too saying the technical issue was now resolved

  • Anyone got transactions declined recently at bp?

    • did you have any issues ?

      • Since last week BP technical glitch ( account locked ) - today I went to use bpme apps, all my amex stored is not working. error message, payment rejected please contact bank.

rang amex, amex confirmed there is no block / no issue with my account. I had 5 amex saved, all not working.

        • so, what did you do afterwards / are going to do?

    • +1

yes, i experienced the same - annoying.

on fri last week, i got an email in the morning saying my account was locked, not sure why.
i sent them an email straight away asking why/what happened - concerned that my account might be hacked or something.
      No reply from them.
Then later on during that day, they sent me a general notification saying it was now working again after technical glitch (not a reply to my earlier email).

From that Fri to Sunday, my BPMe app (Android) acted in a rather weird way.
Sometimes I could login fine. Sometimes it did not recognise my fingerprint and asked me for a PIN.
Put my PIN in and it said wrong PIN.
I even reset PIN, then put the new PIN in, still says error.
Sometimes by closing the app altogether (force stop), then reopened the app, it was able to recognise my fingerprint again, but I found it hit and miss still.
I used this app last year when they had the Amex deal and was working smoothly.

Then, on Sunday, I filled up at BP using this app.
All went fine until it was processing my payment using my AMEX. It was declined! My Amex is active and has available credit so can't be my card issue.
The weird thing was that right after it was declined, BP actually charged my AMEX $1 (maybe for pre-authorisation), so it could actually use my card but somehow declined the fuel payment transaction using the same card.

Got the sms and email from BP right after asking me to pay.
Clicked the link and it's asking me to also pay $3 recovery fee. I thought I would just suck it up and pay, so I tried to pay using my AMEX again and it said Error occurred. Tried twice.
I know it says to pay using another method, but I dont want to pay using any other method because the only reason I filled up on Sunday at BP was to get this AMEX rebate, otherwise would've gone to another station (and closer) which sold the fuel at much cheaper price.

I emailed them but yet to receive a reply. Every morning I now get an email AND sms ask me to pay.
But until they care to reply to my email, I will leave it as it is.. Not my fault, really.

      • That is so annoying.

  • Unfortunately your recent BPme transaction on 01/05/18 was declined by your bank. Please do not pay in store as this is a BPme app transaction. BP will be in touch with you shortly to arrange alternative payment.

  • How using the BPme app led to police investigating an Australian managing director
    https://www.businessinsider.com.au/bpme-app-police-investiga…

    • booo
      that's ridiculous.

  • Is everyone having the same issues? I was going to go fill up at BP using the app with my amex but i am wonderingif i should wait till BP fixes this issue.

above issue, so far BP still has not contact me yet ! Free fuel ?

  • Went for BP fuel just now, using bpme app. All working as usual.

So far only 1 issue ( as shown at above comment ).

  • Filled up at BP Sunnyholt this afternoon
Had issues unlocking the pump… had to request at the counter and the person had to log out and log in on his end to unlock the pump.

Worked after 10 mins wait and then filled up my tank.
Waited 5 mins for the payment to be processed and didn’t go through. Went in again and I was told that they could only see it as “in progress”. After couple of mins, he mentioned that it went through and all good , but didn’t look confident.

Haven’t received any receipt email. Logged on to the app now and can’t see under “past transactions”.

  • Used this 3 times last night using 3 different cards, one after the other. Did not encounter any problem at all. If any, the app seems to be slower compared to when I used it last time there was a similar Amex promo on?

  • Anyone account got suspended ? This bpme apps is insane!

    • Just used today and was fine. Paid with supplmentary cardholder
