Low Energy Usage 50" 55" 60" 65" 4k and 4k HDR TV's

Might be an odd request but am looking for a 4k TV 50" minimum probably 60" ideal with decent but not the absolute greaest best picture quality and some smart features or good for connecting a device for YouTube.

Want maybe GTX 1070 or 1060 Ti of TV's since this will be my screen to use for things for some time. I was aiming for the super low end before but after seeing the difference with some mid range and high range tv's low end for me is out of the question especially since I really want to see some detail in many graphically immersive games.. Main ones will be the latest beautiful RTS games but in 1080p high settings but on a 4k TV.

Main usage will be as a pc monitor for various things like 3d modelling, 3d art and textures, beautiful 4k concept art, some gaming pc and console so low input lag needed. Personally tv shows and sports look fine on most tv's in the mid range.

This means no OLED's because burn in and image retention problems or super high end stuff because of the insane price premiums unless you can really convince me.

Looking at the Hisense N7 as they are the cheapest models to have hdr available in that series but open to other suggestions.

Checked out Viano and I think Panasonic or some really budget 55" and 65" tv's at big w katoomba. The picture quality was really bad and looked super washed out so it might be a pass for me.

The only reason I included 50" is sometimes the savings is massive so it might be worth the value but yeah 43" range is I think too small for me honestly not sure just want to find some good models with low energy usage and decent picture quality that will make games look fine but don't need the best just not ultra budget washed out because that looks really bad.

Going to use this for a long time thus the emphasis on the price and low energy usage. Saving bucks is the most important here as we all know so I don't mind even shifting from the popular N series to say another TCL or Hisense series if it is still ok and even more if it has super low power usage.

Honestly don't care too much about sound I mean most tv's have decent inbuilt sound and it will be very quiet in my room mostly just beautiful game soundtracks anyways which sound really good honestly on my Huawei Mediapad M3 and will be fairly close like less than 2 metres max sometimes closer.

Lastly in case you weren't aware it obviously needs chroma subsampling 4:4:4 for non blurry text and images when plugged into a pc.

So ozbargain show me what you got.. I assume more people have researched and been exposed more to more tv's in this field or range or category so am asking now for your helpful input and knowledge on this.

Help me ozbargain you're my only hope.

Seems like you already know a whole lot about TVs OP, I don't even know what chroma subsampling is haha.

  • 50"-65"as a PC monitor?
Have you actually sat 1m away from a 50" TV to see if that's not already too big?

I think you need to narrow down to a size you want first.
Bigger is not necessarily better. I suspect in the real world that a 50" is borderline too big and going bigger just means the pixel size will increase.

    • Yeah have looked at it, it looked very nice especially for running a real time strategy game in 4k.

Some highly polished detailed games also looked nice.

Some games won't work as well on it but for my use case scenario it will work very very nicely.

  • If it's for a monitor look at the Phillips BDM4350. About $900.
